Chapter 496: Enlightenment
Chapter 496: Enlightenment
The odd feeling that followed the growth potion that Clark had gained from the system was not the odd feeling that anyone would imagine. Most people would think a feeling of unlimited energy might appear. A feeling of hot tingling maybe. But the real feeling was absolutely nothing.
"Did I just get scammed?" Clark looked for the system to reply and just stood there for a minute. He thought that he had just found out that the system was all in his head and he might just be some crazy kid with false memories of a past life. Just a dream that was too vivid stuck in his head or something.
'There are no scams within the system created by existence.'
The single bubble that popped up made Clark sigh before he drew his spear forward and looked at the open space surrounded by five tougher looking stone dummies. He knew that he could train against them and they would not break. It was just good craftsmanship that exceeded what would normally be around. Even Terra academy only had these dummies for the stronger students.
Crim, Devi, and Shy had all left the comfort of the taming space. They had made their own advances when it came to growth with energy crystals. Now they were more focused on stretching out. They wanted to see what Clark was working on and what he might be doing to train.
There was also the additional focus on the energies that Clark wanted to train. Since they were not in the taming space and in front of him, he could focus on the bonds between them more closely. It was something like a mental training. Instead of not being able to see them and only look within himself for them within the taming space, Clark could physically see them.
This made it easier to envision the energies traveling through his body from them.
The simple result of this was the surge of dragon energy that Clark felt as he moved. His body had already been trained using it. Therefore, he could sense the changes in his muscles better than most people would.
As Clark moved through the basic motions of the moonlight spearmanship, he felt that it was still very uneven. His body had gotten stronger as the dragon energy had influenced him. This was natural but also unnatural. It had happened faster because of how Clark had begun to train himself. Letting the dragon energy flow through him more than it normally would by sitting and meditating.
Maybe it was the fact that he had just been busy focusing on other things or just that he had thought he didn't train enough. But Clark was catching on that his body had adjusted more than he even realized. That he could sense the smaller blood vessels that were much stronger. That every little fiber was able to resist his movements and were prepared to exert more strength than he often did.
It wasn't just that he was using a spear art that was not meant to be used with a dragon's ferocity. It was also the fact that he had let his mind and body drift apart due to his distraction and mental blocks.
When this thought occurred to him, Crim growled slightly. It was more of a taunt. Something that Crim normally didn't do. Yet, when Clark felt how Crim was feeling, he realized that Crim wanted to see how strong Clark was. What Clark could do now.
Devi's following laughter with Shy's chittering added in made him realize that it wasn't just him looking for his beasts to grow but they were also waiting for him to take the next step and use their shared energies to grow too.
"I guess I got a little in my own head. I'll give it a real try." not many people would miss the perfect chance to keep their will united with their beasts. It was a common theme with tamers. The better flow of energy and sense of unity that came with being of one mind.
That was what Clark didn't flinch at all when he took the next step forward to fall in to a spear wielding stance. He felt the surge of energies within his body. The constant flow of his own energy leaves him in exchange for multiple forms of energy from his partners.
The echoing desires for strength. To stand above. To show the world what true power was. These thoughts were mimicked by a shaking within Clark's taming space. He could feel that it was something he had been missing, finally falling in to place. Equalizing his strength overall.
The same feeling of when he had somewhat successfully controlled his internal energies to do a moving meditation came back to him. When he had done so he had burned through all of his energy in seconds. It was a failure since he couldn't control it at all. This time was different.
Clark was not just lying on his own will to control it. Since he had not been united in mind and body, he had failed. Right now, he had all his beasts and himself manipulating the flow of energies. It was as if he was a fish returning to water. He was finally able to breathe a full breath. To exist in a state that he was meant to be in.
The flow of Clark's movements were easily in line with the moonlight spear style, however, the hidden ferocity that began to grow as Clark broke the traditional movements seemed out of place. As if the moonlight spear technique that Alexander had given him was not truly as it could be. Just a starting basic compared to what it was becoming.
'Hidden quest completed.
Break the shell
Requirement: break the moonlight spear technique and grasp the true path.
Reward: enlightenment of the true spear technique, Lunar dragon spear arts.'
There wasn't even a single glance toward the system. Clark wouldn't even see this until much later. But as his movements followed the guidance of an unseen force, Clark created quite the show. It had stopped Purple from training nearby.
Strikes downward would cause a sharp crack and split the stone dummies. Even The air seemed to tremble when Clark struck down. The slashes were the same as a massive dragon claw cutting through the very air.
Movements that made it feel as if there was a nearby lightning storm striking the mountains made Purple freeze. He sensed a deep danger right in front of him. It got worse when Clark took stances to deflect and spin the spear forward in a high piercing piercing attack. As if a beast from the moon was diving down to eradicate a mountain. As if a rain of blades would come with the spear as well.
What Purple didn't notice were the shadows that appeared to be moving beneath Clark. The shadow of his own body that appeared to want to dance with him in the beauty of a new spear style. This wasn't even close to the small core of energy that had been growing within Clark though.
This spiritual energy that helped link his body and mind closer and closer. The energy from Devi that assisted him in grasping the same energies that Devi had touched. The understanding that life and death were just a flowing form of existence was well.
Devi had managed to barely grasp the death energies through taking soul energy. By battling with his own form of existence as a ghost. The only one known to exist right now. His unique species made it possible to touch upon both life and death. It was just too unfathomable to fully understand how or why.
That was the last link to be made though. The moment that Clark and Devi felt this connection settle deep within their souls, the full flow of information between them balanced. Clark struck out with more intensity causing the entire training area to shover. It was as if the world itself had just understood that a law had been utilized in that strike. Even if it was the smallest amount of such a law.
The stab had carried a domineering aura around it. A crack of a storm. A bolt of deathly lighting. The intense feeling that nothing would survive the death that it brought. All these feelings coursed through Clark's body. He was solely dedicated to what he was doing.
What he was learning. The ideals he was grasping as he flowed through movements.
'Quest: meditation isn't key- completed
Requirement: learn to alter the meditation to one that perfectly suits you and use it while you are training your body.
Rewards: defined mediation technique perfectly crafted for you and the additional beasts in your future.
Reward given: Flowing Storms meditation technique.
Exclusive to the growth and development of the user, the flowing storms meditation technique is one used when in motion and when stationary. Storms are not just within a planet. Storms exist in many shapes and forms. Real or imaginary.
Using energies to create that storm within and without oneself is an intense endeavor. Being able to contain and flow with those storms makes the user a force of existence more so than even nature.
The energies brought together to create this storm will cause different effects. The core abilities and values of the storm will be ingrained within the very soul of the user. It will alter the user along with what they desire based on how they use it. The uses and flows of how to create such a storm have been refined and require…'
