Spirit Taming

Chapter 485: Cave explorers

Chapter 485: Cave explorers

By the time the group had all gotten to bed and rested, the plans were much more put together. Clark could even say that they would be easily double as strong by the time they finished strengthening their bodies.

Since they had managed to focus too much on their beasts, the balance had been shifted a little too much. Hence why the group had more or less been letting their beasts remain in tamins spaces or relaxing. This was a good way to let them strengthen themselves and the bonds between them.

Clark had already felt that Devi was getting restless, however, when it came to the taming space that was a good thing. Crim had managed to make Shy more comfortable within the taming space by training and playing games with her. Once Devi had decided to join them, the game of exploring the eden's end taming space had become their focus.

Looking within himself, Clark could tell that the spaces had grown. Many places that had been completely locked looked clearer even though his partners could still not go to them. From the end of the large bone forest around the graveyard, Clark could see what anyone would imagine to be a grassland.

What surprised him was the fact that there seemed to be wind. The grasses were a deep pale blue color and moved with the wind softly but slowly. The issue was that Clark had not seen any grass like this. He could also not use the system analysis at all because this area in his taming space was blocked off.

Due to that limit, Clark felt a little more frustrated about his strength than before. The goal to grow his moving meditation method seemed to be even more right in his face. If he could just build the proper flow to hold it for longer, then he would get the system reward that allowed him to refine the process. The system would then give him a proper meditation technique based on what he had done.

That reward would not only increase what he could do, but held other ramifications. The question that everyone should ask was, could he apply moving meditation techniques to everyone? The entire group meditated differently due to their energies. Their affinities forced them to follow different mediation techniques. While this was not a bad thing, it limited them to stopping.

Isa had the most unique meditation since she had one that had been brought from her family. She had also unlocked a taming space that her family didn't fully know about since it was too old and had not been opened in so long. Due to all of this, if she managed to learn to meditate while moving, it would most likely unlock a huge potential.

That also brought Clark to the fact that he did not have many system quests to reward gotcha tickets lately. While it was good since he was able to focus on one, the moving meditation technique quest, it was also bad since the lack of quests meant he was not gaining enough.

There was also the desire for the hidden quests that he could get rewards from. They had been the best rewards. Not just enhanced meditation or healing waters. Those items were useful but they were being stored up. The group was using them though that really helped them regain their strength after harsh training.

"Clark, let's go." Maria looked at Clark wondering why he was just sitting and spacing out after he had eaten. "Everyone else has already left so we are the only ones hanging back." Meeting Purple was going to be the next thing they did. If they were late it would just be rude.

"Yup, let's go." The city still seemed pretty quiet since their entire group had made a point to wake up very early. But the muffins and other breakfast foods offered by the inn were baked fresh. This made everything ten times easier to help them get moving. Especially since there were also fresh squeezed juices to drink. The best way to start the day in many people's opinion.

"I hope you didn't wait too long." Clark spotted Purple who had been talking to a few other Terra Academy students. It seemed they were somewhat of a fan club since they were asking him about training and how he would beat the other academies next year. Naturally, they dispersed when they saw that Purple would be busy.

It was an insult to get in the way of training for others in Terra since that was a main focus of everyone.

"No, I was early since I had promised that I would stop at a place for some additional supplies. You mentioned that the potions you were having made would be done. I met your merchant, Isa, and managed to take three. One for me and two for you. She is very forward thinking."

Purple had shown a little more than what they expected in the way of emotion. Him and his purple spirit beast were melded together as one being because his beats could not survive without him. Therefore, Purple lacked many facial emotions and was always stoic. But he showed a bit of a smile and an impressed expression when speaking about Isa.

"She always is ahead. She might be stronger than most people think too. She has multiple elemental beasts that makes her very versatile in a battle. I bet she would give you a run for your money. Especially when she manages to get her crystal golem all grown up." Maria was glad to see that Purple got along with Isa. but Clark sensed that Maria was seeing something else.

Not that he was going to focus on that thought. He wanted to get moving.

"So, from what I have, the deep caves we are going to are located through a side passageway. There were cave ins that caused some beasts to become active. We also have a chance to pass by a dungeon thought to be abandoned and overrun now.

Not that we will have to go there if we don't want to." Clark brought the conversation to their goals as he started walking toward where the map said the cave system would start.

"I researched the location. The place you want to go will be heavily populated by rock mites. They may seem weak since they are smaller spider like beasts but only have six legs. But they have two pincers that can crush rock and their bodies are just as tough.

That means you will need heavier attacks to break them." Purple handed the two a pieces of paper that had some diagrams of what rock mites looked like.

" I like it. We can gather their bodies to use as armor materials. If they eat rocks too, they might have some ores trapped in their stomachs." As if to say exactly what Purple was going to say, Clark spoke while looking at the beast he would have to battle.

"I have trained against them. During the rainy seasons, the flooded caves push them toward the city. Many students learn to fight them as an act of pest control." Purple approved of the idea that they would be heading toward a beast that he could already handle.

"I will take a closer look with my sight to get a handle on what they might hide. If we can find a mutated one we could use that in beast plans. But also use that to figure out where they might be coming from. That area might be our best chance for a jade worm that Maria can grow."

"I am already prepared to take on a third beast. Lit and the midnight eel have been helping me stabilize all of the energy between us." Maria's pride in this fact was enough to make both the boys nod. It was evident that she was walking with more control.

Everyone with any form of similar training would be able to see that between all of them, the tamers with stronger control of their energy could better move their bodies. This just came with the territory of the strong.

Before they had realized it, their three man team had found themselves at the Terra city exit to the cave system they wanted to access. Here the guards were more heavily armored while stronger beasts seemed to roam the entire area. Metallic and stone gates were in place to move at any moment and block any large groups of beasts when they attacked. It was a very interesting multiple defense system.

"We will be leaving for a cave system exploration. Please mark us as leaving the city and returning within the week." Purple took the lead while Clark noticed that the assassin beetle had returned to hang out on his shoulder. It meant that Professor Wright more than knew what he and Maria were doing.

It also made it more comfortable for him since he knew that if the worst case happened, they would have a rescue on the way. "We are leaving." Purple became much more serious as they stepped past the guards.
