Chapter 482: Cracked eggs
Chapter 482: Cracked eggs
The more that the people in the auction house read these papers and looked at the egg, the more they understood that this was way ahead of its time. Some had even noticed that the beast plan was better written for the common person to understand compared to those from rich families with better education. There wasn't a divide that only knowledge could fill.
Furthermore, it had a description of what the tamer needed to do to better bond with the gg. It would speed up overall growth between the tamer and the beast. From that point, it meant that the tamer and beast would have a massive boost to growth which would greatly show off strength. Earning achievements. Putting that pair well ahead of others.
"Now, I know that this is going to be off, but since we have so many people learning about our business, it would be foolish to throw that away. Plus, I want to toss some bait." Clark stepped in front of the curtain hiding their identities. He made it showy enough to attract some attention just with his movements while still keeping everyone else safe.
"As you can see! These beast plans developed by my group of Nova academy geniuses can better grow any beast and even guarantee that you will have high results upon following it. If you need further proof, you may speak to the lord of Star city or eleven the White robbed healers.
But that would be too easy, you can purchase these mud man eggs then prove your strength and our knowledge to the entire of Terra city!"
When Clark shouted out his little speech, a few of the younger merchant children or nobel children seemed to be fired up. They wanted to take the same achievements that those from the tournament had just gained. Furthermore, they knew exactly who Clark was now. He had been seen in terra academy touring with the vice headmaster. The rumors of who he and his group were easily spread.
From those rumors, more had already been dug out by the merchants. The white robbed healers suddenly changing their growth plans to follow a new one was a big deal. They had started to make new and improved deals to send battle healers with groups going after dungeons and wilderness safety.
From that point alone, it was easy to hear about the Nova academy students that created beast plans through Star city for the Star city's lord's children. But also that they had made a very strong tie with Nebula. Even appearing to bring medicines that saved the Nebula Lord's husband.
All of these things could never be hidden from the ears of a good merchant. There were some that would travel at rapid speeds with such rumors to keep everyone ahead of the others. Rumors were a potential source of income and strength. The rumor for a new dungeon could lead someone to go there and document an entire dungeon first. That could allow them to take a massive leap forward in life.
Without even another glance at Clark, the merchants and few rich nobles with this information had already begun to bid. It was as if someone had just left a drop of blood to set off a shark's feeding frenzy.
"You really just threw everyone in to the wild with this." Isa had not thought to use such a tactic. It made them a very large target. However, she could keep herself and the rest hidden behind the curtain while Clark took all the brunt of the attention. It was perfectly executed to make them more gold and also bring reputation and risks to one person.
"I need to act like a leader sometimes. If there are any of these people that decide to go after me, we can week them out. If there are any that gain something great, then they can become new customers that trust us. And, Vice Headmaster Gold is watching carefully."
Clark had not missed the fact that Gold was watching a few people very carefully. Those few people that he suspected had begun to cause a little trouble due to their mercantile connections with Nova or other families. This was the best way to see who causes trouble. Who would make a move to remove certain people from power now that new rumors had surfaced.
As if on cue, the moment the auction for the mud man eggs finished, a new group of three eggs was brought out. "These are eggs from the horned toad merchant group. Founded twenty years ago, all of you know their name. These eggs are from a beast known as the dark earth willow. A beast with a one in three chance to properly hatch!"
"This beast is very well known for being one of the rare treant like monsters. It grows in darkness and earth to create powerful root systems and defend caves. When trained well, it can act as a permanent guard for a home or for a dungeon. But it is best used to protect the storage facilities of many merchants in terra city!"
The auctioneer was speaking very loudly. But there was also a taller man that was raising a hand and ensuring that most other merchants knew it was from him. That he was the head of the horned toad merchants. It was a similar ploy for more attention in the same way that Clark had just done. Unfortunately, this man lacked the skill to see beyond the egg. Clark had such a skill.
'Gnarled willow- uncommon
Due to the poor conditions the dark earth willow was forced to breed in, the eggs were mutated and have many abnormalities. The dark type energy that would normally be balanced by the earth and water energies has taken over. Now the beast can not use water energy to properly grow.
The eggs shell shows cracked striations proving this. Furthermore, the energies within the egg can be sensed showing a great weakness in the eggs ability to develop properly. If it is left this way, only worse can happen as it grows to hatch.
This will cause the limbs, skills, roots, and many other things to be much weaker. Furthermore, it will cause the gnarled willow to require much more nutrients. It will suffer from twisted branches causing pain to the beast at all times during growth. It will have significantly weaker ability to grow.
The only way to remedy this and allow it to grow in to the twisting willow will be to give it high amounts of light type energy crystals to stave off the oppressive dark affinity that has caused it to go against its nature.
If this is done before it hatched, the twisting willow will be a slightly weaker sub species of the dark earth willow but also one that can uproot itself like any treant type beast and relocate once every five years…'
"Ella, write a beast plan right now." Clark called Ella and had her write down things in a flurry. Her way of writing was fast and could be the best information right away. It was also going to be how Clark upstaged the largest group here. Twenty years was a long time, but with long time profits came corrupted greed.
While this might seem like the merchant was negligent, it was worse than that. Forcing beasts to grow in poor environments was a gruesome act that could cause a monster. The proof was all over the blood moon cult. This merchant was barely better with how he had caused the beast to give eggs that were inherently in pain. That had only a future of torment to look forward to.
The buzz started to die down as the eggs were won by a smaller merchant for a nice sum of thirty five gold coins. An investment to protect their new warehouse from thieves or any other dangers that came with being a merchant.
"Vice headmaster Gold, please use a little sway for me here. I need to fix a future problem." Clark whispered to Gold and soon an attendant had rushed to grab the younger merchant who had just purchased the eggs.
In less than ten minutes while more beast eggs and some energy crystals were sold, the young man was bright to the private room. Seeing Clark and the others, he wasn't sure why he had been invited here at all.
"I know that you might think this sounds crazy, but I couldn't let you leave with those gnarled willow eggs. They don't deserve the pain that they will have when they hatch. You have been a victim today. Please take this beast journal to help those three eggs hatch and regain some part of their heritage." The young merchant blinked with confusion before taking the beast plan.
It was curiosity that drove him to open it and read the reasons why the eggs had small cracks. Why could he sense the energy? What had caused it. How the beast that gave these eggs would be treated terribly. How these eggs were better off not hatching in this condition due to their potential future. The more the younger merchant read, the more he believed what he was being told.
It was too detailed to argue with. If it was just a casual remark he could pretend this was nothing.
"You brought me here for this?" His voice was calm. Like a true merchant, he held himself back.
"Like I said, I would have charged for this beast plan, but a beast does not deserve to be in such pain. It is an affront to every tamer and I will be working to handle the source of this problem while I visit Terra city." Clark looked taller as he spoke. But with the vice headmaster and Purple at his side, it was awe inspiring.
