Chapter 471: Bulk Market
Chapter 471: Bulk Market
By the time any of them had managed to escape and return to the inn that they were staying at, the possibility that they could bathe and relax was long gone. Their muscles still screamed out with soreness even though Lit and Maria had been on healing duty their entire training session.
Normally the group would be able to handle what was thrown at them for their own personal training or traveling. Professor Wright had not been too harsh on them since she had been focused on stamina and building up enough of it to survive long journeys or running from beasts.
Where things were different between Terra and any other training they had gone through was muscles training. The Terra instructors all had their own respect for something. The sword instructor and the shield instructor both cared about how the weapons they trained with were used. But they were very clear on the core value that someone had to be able to wield that weapons.
This left the group in the hands of the overall fitness in tractors who had revealed himself to be in charge of many young classes of tamers within terra academy. He had developed muscle plans for everyone to increase strength, toughness, and stamina. This was exactly what the group in front of him needed.
Seeing that the Nova students that had arrived before him were able to handle nutrient rich training with constant healing to make massive leaps was amazing to him. Teraa students relied on long term growth since it was better to ingrain techniques. Yet, these Nova Academy students had broken that mold to be able to help their beasts grow faster and be better.
This also let them grow to match their used techniques.
From that point on, the fitness instructor had doubled down, in Brad's case, tripled down on the training weights and exercises. Therefore, no amount of healing was able to properly heal every single muscle worked. And by every single muscle, the trainer had made sure to work out every single muscle possible with various exercises.
The additional training that the shield instructor added had a lot to do with defending attacks whether it was with a shield or just the body. That played along with the resistance training from Nebula Academy. While it was different from hot or cold resistance training, it was a substantial boost. Being able to handle heavier hits to the body without losing all focus could save their lives.
The sword instructor had also played on this, but the focus had been more on dodging and footwork. Control of the body and the movements within a tense situation. Therefore, the movements they had done highly involved dodging the swift motions of a quick sword. The instructor easily handled the group and ten more students with quick speed.
He hadn't even broken a sweat the entire time that they had trained while every student, including the Terraa academy students, were on the ground half dead.
With all that in the past, the group had returned to the inn, eaten a little too much, and managed to sleep. By the time that Isa had woken up and begun to grab everyone from where they had fallen asleep, no one was ready to even be awake. It was still dark outside and there were barely any sounds from the streets yet.
"Get up and take the lists I am giving you. We are going to the bulk sale area of the merchant streets. I expect everyone to look for what's on the lists I handed you. These are basic bulk sell items that we can flip later for a profit. I will have you go to every single merchant stall and buy them. They are trying to sell them for as much as possible.
Do not haggle, offer a solid price and nothing more. If they take less, good."
The serious awakening that everyone received was enough for them to wonder if they had woken up in another world or if they were even still asleep. Everyone knew that this would be intense, but they had no idea what it would be like.
Growing up in a mercantile family, Isa had been through this a lot. She had even grown to love this intensity. It was a rush that kept her wanting more when it came to buying and selling. The rush of a busy market would make anyone want to jump up and win again and again.
Not to mention the fact that many of the people that showed up at these markets were the same money hungry merchants looking to build their gold storage to become a real merchant in the future.
"Ralph, if you are not out of that bed in the next ten second, I will let my crystal golem drag you all the way there. And Grace, if you are not done with your hair before Ralph is out of bed, then my wind caterpillar will start ruining your hair every time you lose focus." The threats were enough to bring the two a little more pep in their step.
But the fact that Isa was using her caterpillar as a threat was funny since the young beast was barely strong enough yet to play a practical joke like messing up hair with wind.
By the time that the group left the inn, they managed to see the very early morning life of Terra City. The carts that brought the early morning food stores to restaurants. The people around cleaning the streets for the day. And even the night workers that were heading home to sleep during the day. It was a very different world from what people knew of and what people would be used to.
That was until they started to hear the drama from the large warehouse buildings that were about to open. "This is where we split up. Do whatever you need to elbow your way inside and begin buying. You all have the silver and bronze coins you need.
If you can't find everything, I will show you exactly what it feels like to hurt." Isa made her threats before she pushed her way in to the crowd of small time merchants. This was a weekly event for them. The rush to get cheap goods for whatever low price possible.
This changed Clark's perception of merchants a lot. This was a harsh push for goods that he had not seen in another city. Nebula seemed strict with its goods since it could not grow much food. Therefore, they had more organization and a slower process. Nova City had things cut and drawn with contracts or shady deals. But Terra was a free for all.
You had to put in the work to get here and get the best things or else you had nothing. A somewhat pleasant change that relied on the merchant's own efforts.
When the massive metal doors opened, Clark didn't even need to push through the crowd. He found himself in the massive warehouse with massive tables displaying many goods. He was also glad that Isa had exempted him from having a list. All he had were the few gold coins she shoved in his hands with a knowing glance. She was waiting to see what he would find that stood out.
But that was the fun of things.
Clark knew that this area had more than the large bulk goods that came from anywhere and everywhere. This also had the goods from merchants that sold shop. People that left behind their items when they perished. Even things from abandoned homes or businesses could be here. Those things would be sniffed out and sold for the most. The lucky catches by many merchants.
The thing was, this variety made sure that someone had to have a very intelligent and solid memory to be able to discern what was and was not good. When it came to the beast eggs, Clark saw an entire section filled with them. Some were labeled while others were a mystery since they had not been appraised by anyone with a higher education to on such a thing. That was why Clark made his move.
The beast eggs would be his spot. He could find the best ones and appraise them then they could sell them later.
"Don't stand in the way if you are just looking! Take something and buy it or get the hell out of the way!" The merchant in charge was clearly rushing to sell whatever he could. But that was just the attitude here. Speed speed speed was all they needed. The money would add up but these merchants in bulk selling had to make sure they were in and out to get more goods later.
" Don't worry, I will be buying a lot from you today!"Clark intentionally made a louder announcement to stave off some of the others trying to push toward the table. He knew that if he did this he could intimidate some of the smaller merchants trying to snag away what he was looking at. Especially since he had already started to use his analysis on the eggs here.
