Chapter 470: gathered Together

Chapter 470: gathered Together

"It's done! That Nova kid and his forging partner just made more than ten of those soft rune carved bracelets." The exclamation came from one of the first year blacksmiths nearby. It was more than what they would see from anyone in the same year as them. Especially around their academy which was more known for some of the forging and metal goods.

"So Ralph has done a lot of work. Too bad that we have more training to do." Clark walked through the group and looked at Ralph who had just finished the last bright iron bracelet.

"Now you show up. You could have carried the ingots I was making before. Or helped carry out the damn heavy armor that was made before." while Ralph grumbled, he picked up one of the cooled bright iron bracelets and tossed it at Clark. "You already know what this is. You knew the moment you walked in and saw it."

It wasn't a secret that Clark could figure things out pretty well, but it was very surprising that Ralph was able to figure it all out just with a look. Especially since Clark hadn't even noticed that Ralph could be aware enough while fogging to notice that he had entered the forge.

"How was the mushroom and herb garden? Grace remembered where the others had gone and was sure that they had something interesting to share with everyone.

"We were able to find some mushrooms and herbs that would be helpful to training. The alchemy beast that Maria wants is still a loss for now. Mostly just suggestions about what lives in Terra city territory." Clark shrugged. He was sure that Maria would tell Grace a lot more when they left the forge.

"It's fine then, we are done here. I was annoyed by the audience anyways." Ralph kept his grumbling as he stored away the tools that were his and the few things that he had managed to gain while here. The nice part was that there were many basic metals and ores provided by Terra academy that anyone could take and use. The blacksmiths around had gladly shared them with Ralph just to watch.

"Wait, that's it for the day?" The first years were all a little sad seeing that Ralph was leaving. They could care less about what else he had done before getting here, but they had the luck to watch him forge with runes. Even more, they had witnessed a technique that they thought only the genius blacksmith from before could use.

"Yeah that's all. What, do you think I have energy enough to forge all day? I need to go train so I can beat the crap out of some people." Ralph argued back to the one that said this. But the other blacksmiths didn't seem to mind anymore that he was leaving since one of them had realized they could not try out what they had been watching.

"They have been watching us since we showed up. But they said that carving those runes was impossible without a lot of training. I think they just haven't studied enough since Ralph found it really easy.

We even figured out that if my frost finch freezes the carving tools first that we can get a better result when they are used to carve in to the soft heated metal." Grace was a lot more energetic than the group would have thought. But looking at Ralph, they realized that he was too. The seemingly tired appearance from forging was a facade.

"We should head to the training fields. I know that the longer we train the better. Especially since we are well prepared. We also need to keep Isa from worrying about money. She has started to mumble about gold coins and silver coins for the auctions. Apparently she wants to sell some of the beast plans we have put together.

Ella also got a little lost with rewriting her journals…" Clark looked at the two girls who could be on another planet for all they cared.

"Clark, they just want to make sure we are all doing the best. If we can get a lot more money from an auction, even the general auctions in the morning, then we can get more materials. You want to make it to the Lunar academy next, right? We will have to pay someone to fly us over the canyon or else we have to walk through it." Maria made a good point.

The geography of the area they were in was nothing anyone didn't know. While they walked over toward the training field after Ralph had cleaned up his space, they talked about their journey. The large mountains that Terra city was built under and around had to flatten out at some point.

That was where the massive canyons formed from so much water running off the mountains. Time had created a very dangerous beast infested place that most merchants avoided. But this was also a boon for those with flying type beasts. They could become a carrier service.

"I just don't see what we will do if we don't make enough to rent at least one of the canyon rocs. They are the safest beasts to travel on through the canyon since they are born around and in it." Isa had a hard time talking herself out of the safest option. Other beasts were cheaper, but could be attacked since they stood out more."

"We can worry about that after we scrape Reese off the ground." Ralph stopped everyone when he saw that Reese was on his back panting as if he hadn't gotten any air for his entire life. "That's all you can do, huh? Your swordsmanship and stamina leave a lot to be desired. You have strict muscle memory and a slight change that allows you to be more fluid in unique situations."

"That would be good if you didn't lack the knowledge of other sword styles. You have only fought against your own family's abyssal sword style for abyssal sword beast tamers. What else have you learned? My rock sword style is only one of five I know. You can't counter it. The reason?

Because you do not know of it. You need battle experience and a second sword type beast. I recommend you figure that out soon."

The sword instructor gave the group approaching a silent glance before walking toward another of his students. It appeared that Reese had been thoroughly beaten when it came to sparring. "So, you need another sword type beast or you need to start learning more sword styles. Sounds fun." Grace was more optimistic since the sword instructor seemed to be very harsh.

"Sounds…like it…" Reese barely got this out through his gasps for air.

"Looks like Brad is doing pretty well. Pale, but well. It's those weights though. They have a vampiric alloy here. Very good." Clark used his analysis and was very glad that they would have some training equipment that really challenged everyone to think about their own energy and how to preserve it during fights.

"At least he is standing. Jerold over there is crawling in the shadows of the equipment. But I think people are out to get him." Maria pointed out Jerold who was hiding behind one of the large stone dummies. There was a group of students with their wooden training weapons looking around and trying to find him.

It was a definite form of training since the goal they knew Jerold had was stealth and scouting.

"We should be good to do our own training here. If we begin now, we should have about six hours to properly exhaust ourselves. Then according to Isa's plans, we would be able to wake up and go to the general bulk auctions where large selections of items are sold. From there we should have the middle part of our day to prepare for anything else we need.

Then you and Isa will attend that larger auction and meet some of the prominent figures around Terra." Ella was already thinking about the next day to keep the entire group on track.

"Don't let them see you. There are monsters here." Jerold managed to sneak to the group after seeing them. But he was already too late.

"So the rest of the group is here. All of the Nova academy students are together. Just in time for the second class of the day to start. From what I heard, you all need some real training. To make your bodies tough enough to even summon out your beasts." The fitness instructor seemed to be grinning like a demon.

"Just because you managed to learn about their training methods does not mean you can use all of your time to instruct them. We have gathered them together so they will train with all three of our methods brought together. They have a healer and can use some of our potions.

That should be enough to make sure that they learn the Terra way well enough." The shield instructor looked to be even more devilish as he made it known that the three boys had explained their training methods already. It was going to be a rough few hours.
