Chapter 438: Just Some Poison

Chapter 438: Just Some Poison

"We need to get moving, we have to grab one more bright blue bell then leave!" Isa reminded Clark that they had to get moving no matter what. She was sure that Ella was already hyper focused enough that things would be tough to defend her. But with Clark seemingly spacing out, it presented another troublesome situation.

"Maria, I need you to stay with Ella. There is something I need to grab that I just spotted." Clark made a look towards Maria that told her it was integral that they grabbed whatever he had to. However, he had just made the realization that he would be able to leave the dungeon and go back in. He had even said some of it out loud.

The issue with this plan that Clark had realized was that there was more than one great iridescent shark using the frenzy skill. Another had used the frenzy skill and was tearing in to a smaller group of glowing cannibal jellyfish. But theta had caught his eyes was a group of what he had thought were spiritual glow worms.

'Spirit poison glow worm- rare

Due to the shedding of poison typing from the glow sting jellyfish growing in to the glowing cannibal jellyfish, there has been high amounts of poison type energy escaping their bodies. This had caused some of the spiritual glow worms to become the target of such energy. This has caused a forced mutation to create the spiritual poison glow worm.

The spirit poison glow worm is able to secrete a clear poison that will force spiritual energy to bleed from those affected by it. This may not cause death but it could cripple all skills and flow of energy within any living being since spiritual energy is present in nearly every form of life.

They have the potential to grow in to the purple poison glow worm which has denser spiritual poison and thicker skin, this change happens if they are able to live through the strength of their own poison. They have less resistance because they also rely on the spiritual energy to sustain them.

They are not in perfect balance with themselves and therefore, need the time to grow and adjust which is them taking the form of the purple poison glowworm. This is also why they have a slight purple coloration to their skin already.

The best way to raise…'

Clark wasn't looking at them for no reason. He was looking at the perfect weapon to use against the great iridescent sharks. If they could not beat these beast's skills, then they should just seal off the skills entirely. They could handle the jellyfish. That was an easy battle. But the sharks going in to a frenzy were not in the plan.

Yet, if they were without their skills, the sharks would react like any beast without the energy to fight, they would hide or flee.

"What are you doing!?" Maria was ready to slap Clark. She saw that he had fixed his eyes on the glow worms and then charged toward them while dodging some of the glowing red jellyfish that were trying to eat him as he passed by them. She hated that he had just run off without giving them the plan, but she also knew that Clark would not run off if he wasn't confident.

The only issue she had was that one of the great iridescent sharks was slowly drifting toward them, and it looked hungrier. "Isa, get a ball of flames ready!" Maria made sure that Isa understood the dangers that were coming towards them. She was sure that there would be enough energy to try and scare it away before it could attack.

Unfortunately, the great iridescent shark took that chance to dart forward. Maria and Isa were lined up perfectly for it to target them. One bite would be able to feed it well. Continuing the poor fortune, the iridescent shark found that its attempt to bite down with its jaws had failed. Maria had grabbed Isa's shirt and dragged her to the ground, narrowly dodging the bite.

The snap of jaws echoed through the third floor making every single glowing cannibal jellyfish shift. The sound was one that would make anyone shiver. It was the sound of an attack that could sheer through bone like it was butter.

"It's coming again, get over here." Ella prepared to call out her earth prince again, she knew that she could manage another attack and it should be enough to defend against the speed and force of the great iridescent shark that had yet to find food.

"No!, just stay there!" Clark threw something across the cave hitting the great iridescent shark. The sound of something fleshy made all of them look over and the great iridescent shark flinch. But soon it started to twitch and the glow on its skin faded. There was a large flailing after that as the shark realized it couldn't use the spiritual energy within its body.

What none of them selected at all was that the shark fell to the ground unable to move at all. This was a lesson all of the sharks and jellyfish had learned well. The spirit poison glow worms were not to be touched. Because when they were touched, they lost their ability to float. They could not use their spiritual energy to fly through the air.

The jellyfish, the sharks, and any sub species of them were stuck unmoving. They always used their spiritual energy to move and therefore, they lacked the muscles to make moves from that point on.

"What did you do!?" The three girls all reacted the same way. Ella had been drawn in to the battle as well leaving her with an exceptionally stunned expression just like Isa and Maria.

"That is a spirit poison glow worm. It was forced to grow because the jellyfish here lost their spiritual energy. Therefore, it went to the glow worms. Note they have skills that make the spiritual energy in something bleed out. It's temporary but it makes using skills impossible for a time.

Oh, and I'm already poisoned so just let me throw them." Clark said it so casually that the others nearly accepted it.

"You're poisoned! How could you be such an idiot!?" This time it wasn't Marie or Isa reprimanding Clark. It was Ella. She had never heard something so illogical. Something so foolish. Who cares about the herbs or whatever Clark was trying to do for them?

Even the extra minute gained was rough… Clark had just poisoned himself!

"It's what we need to get it done. You're stuck where you are because you can't focus. We need you to get your focus back so we can work on a plan to get our bodies stronger. So get that bright blue bell while I deal with that red fog causing the frenzy. Isa and Maria, look for a glowing heart shaped flower. It should look like a bleeding heart flower but it will have higher spiritual energy.

I need it."

With this, Clark picked up more of the spirit poison glow worms and began to toss them toward the great iridescent sharks. He didn't stop at all in his fight. He even ran through the frenzy fog to hit them more accurately. It was definitely the abuse of the spirit poison glow worms. Yet, they didn't seem to even react to it.

The fact that the glow worms were developing tougher skin was already evident. Just being tossed to come in contact with another beast appeared to be doing nothing. Clark did feel bad for the one that he tossed and saw snatched up by an iridescent shark. The growing swarm attacked the suddenly stationary figure that fell to the ground immediately after chomping down on the glow worm.

The resulting massive pile of weakened and poisoned beasts made Clark wonder just what he was doing here. If this was the way to handle a swarm, he had learned a valuable lesson. Sending the right poison to counter a beast could definitely take down a much larger force than anyone would expect.

While Clark was dashing here and there, he began to feel some weakness. He could sense that Devi, Shy, and Crim wanted him to stop. Their bonds were able to sense that Clark was weakening much more than he should be, the bleeding spiritual energy was taking its toll on him. He would not be able to maintain this speed and pace. But there were still plenty of gathering beasts around his group.

He may have created a decent path for them to flee the third floor, but it wasn't perfect.

The entire third floor was much larger than he could see. Easily triple the size of what he assumed the second floor was. This might be normal for a dungeon, but he was unsure how he would manage to handle all the beasts that were still being attracted to the area. "Hey, let's get moving!" Isa suddenly caught Clark's arm and began dragging him.

He had slowed down too much and between the three girls, Clark found himself nearly being carried toward the stairs. His vision fading as the poison took its toll and the lack of spiritual energy made his mind hazy.
