Chapter 379: Unexpected Quest
Chapter 379: Unexpected Quest
"Clark! I need your help here." Isa suddenly yelled out getting Clark's attention. The others had started to tire themselves out but that wasn't a problem since Maria was using some of the potions they had stored up through their preparations. They could always recover their energy easily.
"What's going on?" Clark had not been watching much of the training that everyone else was doing. He had begun to focus on what he could do since that was the best he could do to get stronger himself. He could help everyone later when they finally stopped with materials. Focusing on their own bodies would keep them even with their beasts.
"I started to use my natural skills to fuse with my crystal golem, ice maiden, and flame sprite. I can use the crystals on my fists to block the damage I might get from using flames and ice too strong for my resistance even when I am fused." That made Clark raise an eyebrow since he hadn't
noticed that Illia had been going this route yet.
"And what's next?" The next step that Clark was expecting would be that Isa wanted to strengthen her beasts to improve their bonds. That way she would be able to combine better with them when using her innate ability to fire in general. It would make her attacks more powerful all around instead of just at far or close combat.
"I need to hatch the wind caterpillar sooner. If I can get the wind elemental energy to match the other three elemental energies then I can move faster. The crystals on my hands are great, but they are heavy. I can get stronger if I let Maria train me." A slightly worried look appeared on Isa's face since she knew it would be some very harsh training for a few days. But he had already accepted that.
"But even then I will still be slow. I can look for a way to boost my speed using wind instead of trying to attack with it right away."
"That would also increase your body's acceptance of wind energy. And increase your bond with a newly hatched beast. I like it." Clark had a very good impression of what Isa had been thinking. She had taken a logical route to making herself stronger instead of just trying to get another beast.
"I think that I should be helping with that too. I have to increase the wind energy within my living mist. It is focused too much on water lately because of the cold around. The ice type energy is very related to water energy and I can feel that it is losing some of its control over wind." This could change the growth course of the living mist to become a water type beast with a faint wind typing.
That would change how Ella planned in the long run.
"Then we can both set up something to get more wind energy!" Isa was happy to have Ella joining her in this. It was better to work together as a challenge than to work alone.
"What I am thinking is that we will have to set up a small room so that we can create a place dense in wind type energy. similar to what we did with Grace's frost finch. If we do that then your beasts can sit and absorb energy while you train. You will feel when they are about to alter their bodies or hatch in Isa's case." Clark thought it was simple.
The only thing needed were the wind energy crystals that they had just won along with the space.
"That's easier than you are thinking. We have rooms for meditation that are able to be sealed. The wood used when making them was reinforced with ice to trap elemental energies. It's harder with a certain energies but it's how I hatched my ice wyrm." Illia had listened in on their conversation. This left them with nothing more to do than to actually do it.
"Can we start now? I will need to have this done sooner than later. If I can hatch the wind caterpillar within three days it should be enough to learn how I can use the wind to a very minor level." Isa was very dedicated to her plan. She had no need to focus on business right now. What she needed was to be able to enhance her overall ability.
"We can. I was giving you a tour originally. The energy within these dummies is almost used up anyways and I know that the rewards you gained have yet to be separated." Illia hadn't forgotten what they had been doing before the distraction. But since she had found something interesting she had not stopped the flow.
"Come with me, we can take a break." Illia waved to the rest of the group and no one argued. The few that could not even bring themselves to speak were Rweese, Brad, Grace, and Jerold. They had worked the most to copy the movements over and over leaving them barely functional energy wise. It was the kind of training that they needed.
Maria and Isa had their eyes focused as they walked inside the mansion. They had expected to see the generic overzealous use of colors and art when they entered. However, they were mistaken in thinking this. They found that the mansion was decorated very minimally.
"I know, we aren't the same as others. But having art on display here is pointless. The tapestries you see when you visit other noble homes are just because of their ego. We don't need that. Nebula is better showing that stuff off in public areas. We just need a few to help us take care of ourselves along with the proper places to train." Illia was very proud to say this all.
She was sure that this was one thing that she could show off to everyone that she trusted that would show who she and her mother truly were.
"These rooms here on the first floor are the bedrooms. You can choose from any room in the right hall. The left is for my mother, father, and myself." Illia said this a little faster than normal.
'Your father? Is he going to meet us too? He has to be pretty strong since your mother is very powerful. I couldn't even tell how strong she was when I saw her.." Isa was interested in meeting the last family member of the Nebula family since they had all impressed her.
"My father is… He is unable to leave his room. But if you want to meet him you can." Illia showed a slightly sad look to all of them proving that Isa had just touched a sad subject.
"Maria, Isa, Ell, and I will meet her father. We'll let you guys grab a room." Clark spoke softly and the others understood that if this was really a touchy subject that he would prefer to keep things smaller. It was just out of general respect too that they had a little control over themselves. After Ralph nodded he led the way to the bedrooms.
"Dad, these are some new friends." Illia had opened a larger room with a very comfortable and large bed made of white silks. It was very extravagant but Clark could tell why at a glance.
'Henry Nebula- poisoned
This is a man with higher strength than most, however, he has been poisoned by a unique beast called an absolute zero worm. It is a parasite known to live on ice dragons' shed scales. Its poison allows it to consume ice dragon shed scales while also causing anything that touches it to fall in to a deep coma.
The sleeping cold coma is the result of this poison. The only way to resist it is to have the ice dragon's saliva added to a mana potion. The ingredient is very hard to find while it must also be given from a dangerous beast.
The current state of this man's body will allow him to live for another six years without any additional antidote. The beasts that he has grown with are locked in his taming space using their energy to keep him alive.
There are multiple ways to stop him from perishing in such a short span of years if…'
The system analysis had activated without Clark asking it to. But he knew why as soon as he saw the next system quest.
'Quest: assist the Nebula family in recovering their third member
The Nebula family member poisoned by the absolute zero worm is in need of ice dragon's saliva. Being able to get it from the exact dragon that the worms feed off would be ideal to perfectly heal the man from the poison.
Requirement: get the ice dragon's saliva.
Reward: 1 hidden gotcha ticket, one large dragon crystal, one large shadow crystal, one large death crystal, 1 beast weapon specific gotcha ticket.'
Many rewards were offered for the quest. Rewards that Clark had never seen before. They all seemed too great but when compared with the challenge… Well, that was still a large risk to take.
