Chapter 357: Burn The City!

Isa started to question if she was in the right business. The amount of cheers for this guy seemingly dancing through the arena were too huge. He had to make gold hand over fist every single performance. How could she keep up with such fame if she just had a single beast guiding business? It was ridiculous.

However, she also saw this fame as a massive downside. This snow dancer was burdened by constant expectations to be great. He had to be elegant and it in the small bubble that had made him famous. Isa and her friends could expand. They could do more and more with beast growth. It wouldn't just stop at one kind of beast with Ella and Clark working together either, that was the key here.

They could do so much more.

But what was on Isa's mind wasn't that she could or couldn't beast this kid in the business world. She had to focus on the fact that she had fused with both the flame sprite and the ice maiden to control the ice and flames as she could against the volcanic cloud.

Every time she would throw out a wave of ice with the help of her ice maiden, she found that the volcanic cloud was heating the air even more with massive waves of hot air of lames. These flames had to be deflected in some way by her flame sprite. That meant she had to stop focusing on the ice and change her goals.

These two conflicting actions were a huge test of her ability to use both elemental energies at once. But it came with a price. Her mental energy was being depleted very quickly. Not to mention how fast the energies she and her beasts had stored up were depleting.

Meanwhile, ice dancer was still trying to get close enough for an attack. Every single time he got near, he could barely leave a scratch before the volcanic cloud would cause another burst of heat to force him away again. These small scratched were nothing to the average person or a tamer. They were just small reminders that the opponents in front of him were nothing.

"Bring it on! Try and scratch me once more!" the shouts mocking snow dancer and Isa could only be heard between the roars of flames as it grew more and more behind the ethereal academy student.

The volcanic cloud was showing smaller movements as it turned on itself here and there. Clark was far enough away to see that it actually had a head and arms. In a way, it had made a semi physical form from the flames in the air. That meant that it could definitely take the form of a different b4east in the future. But the analysis had been different.

The real question was, could this beast change over time? Was there more things hidden because it was an ultra rare beast?

Clark wanted to find all the answers to these things. He could spend years looking of it could be a day. He already had seen beasts with a lower ranking on the rarity scale that could grow to be more than what they were at the time. The only factor was how they were grown.

"Isa! Start making things harder with the ice!" Clark saw that the volcanic cloud was keeping itself higher in the sky slowly taking over the higher air above the arena. It was heating everything up through that. But it also made it very clear where it was attached and pulling its energy from the Ethereal academy student. His shout had to be just loud enough to make Isa think about making it harder.

"Harder with the ice? Why wouldn't I..?" Isa looked at the ground then looked up at the rampaging flames above her. She realized that the ice on the ground had started to melt slower because there were fewer flames touching the ground. That meant that Isa could freeze the ground itself and keep it hidden.

With a few directions, Isa split her attention again and let the perfect crystal golem start to create spaces under the ground for cold energy to flow. Because Isa wasn't being attacked outright, she was able to let the perfect crystal golem take the time work on other things. It didn't need to make a crystal shield to block attacks from her.

Nor did it have to rush to make a crystal wall to protect ice dancer.

Ice dancer noticed the slight changes in the ice that was being thrown towards him. He was focused on taking all the attention with his agile movements and slashing with his daggers that he had not caught on to the plan just yet. But he saw that Isa was directing more ice than was heading beneath his feet.

That alone was all he needed to do so that he could catch the Ethereal academy student attention even more.

"You act so hot headed, but you lack the beauty of your elemental energy. The poor beast you raise will always be weak." This first insult seemed out of character for snow dancer. It didn't roll off the tongue like the ethereal academy student who seemed used to mocking and trampling on people every day.

"Was that it? Are you an idiot? That wasn't heated up at all. You're cold and bleak. This entire place is cold and bleak. Don't worry, after I kill you and those other ones…well, I will just heat this whole city up and make a real fire!" the sudden change of pace made the volcanic cloud stop.

It seemed to enjoy that its tamer was opening mocking and threatening to burn an entire city. It was perfect for what Isa needed. Time.

The ice that the ice maiden could control stopped as she saw that she didn't need to send any toward snow dancer. The two just worked on the underground that was now making even more ice show up under foot. This alone was a great accomplishment. But as soon as snow dancer felt the difference underneath his feet, he smirked.

"Sorry for the wait my fans. I have waited for the stage to be set. Let me show you the dance of fallen snow!" The sudden difference in speed was striking. Everyone saw the changes and wondered just what had happened. However, what was even more shocking was not just the speed but the fact that Isa had separated from the flame sprite and left just the ice maiden.

Isa's hands slammed on to the ground and all the remaining ice energy in her body and the ice maiden's body rushed through the ground. Large spikes of ice and frost grew around the entire arena causing the winter wonderland from the blizzard wolf to appear again. It was similar but more focused on ice than snow. But that was fine. Snow dancer was using it just well enough.

The ice beneath his feet was the perfect path to sprint up and smile through all his motions. Every slash was an elegant arc and performance within itself. Every small movement spoke of a story that came with everyone's first experience in their first snow. The breaths leaving snow dancer's body were calm and even as the slash cut in to the ethereal academy student's back and chest.

The blood dyed the ice quickly leaving nothing but silence as everyone wondered how death could be beautiful. "I am sorry, but you did not keep us in your eye as true opponents. You thought yourself too grand."

As snow dancer looked down, he saw that his opponent had not died. Instead a blood curdling laugh escaped before a flash of flames came. The entire arena burst in to fire and shattered ice. Isa had the flame sprite which had reacted and guarded her but that was not enough. The flames still burst through and pushed her away. Burns covering her arms.

The heat had forced snow dancer away and off the area to an unknown fate. The ethereal academy student was gone with his beast in the burst of fire. Severe and burning flames that even melted the earth of the area leaving it scared by blackened ash. No one could even muster words for how they felt about what had just happened.

Not that they would be able to hear what could be said since the explosion had made all their ears ring to a degree.

"The battle is over! Ethereal academy gets one point against Nebula academy! One point is given to Nebula for landing the last blow to Ethereal academy. Nova academy barely manages to stay in the arena and survive!"

The referee announced the results to the stunned crowd. No one knew what to say. However, when the calls of healers came from Nebula Academy's side where ice dancer had been sent out of the arena, there were only tears starting to bloom in everyone's eyes. A great talent had been lost. A beloved talent had been sent to the next life.
