Chapter 340: Showing It All Off

One dagger stabbed the mountain tarantula's leg, right between the joint where it was not as protected. The other slashed at her opponent making the arrogant girl narrowly dodge but suffer a cut to the arm. The quick attack had barely harmed the mountain tarantula but it was enraged nonetheless since it hated pain.

This caused it to stomp around angrily making both Maria and her opponent retreat. Yet, the audience was quick to notice something. That one of the legs of the mountain tarantula was lagging behind the other, and it had actually hit itself without realizing it.

Soon, Maria's opponent was moving drunkenly as well. As if she couldn't feel any of her limbs. "I wonder just why you are walking so oddly. And why it seems you don't flinch every time you move that arm of yours now?" Maria charged away from the mountain tarantula that was desperately looking for her. It could sense its tamer's panic at the numb feeling spreading in their body.

"Youshsshould have…" the slurred speech that came with biting her own lips made Maria's opponent look at her with terror. She had not realized she was poisoned so badly so quickly. The numb feeling was setting even deeper in her body the longer she stood there.

"It's alright, I will stop you from worrying about all that.? Maria set her daggers in their sheaths and wound up for a heavy punch. It was blunt and quick, but her opponent hit the group unconscious all the same. "And at least you won't feel that for a while."

Maria looked up at where she had spotted the white robbed healing society showing off her face and arms. The previously cut and bleeding face and arms that were already healed or nearly healed. Her gaze was telling them that she was already the victor here. Yet, she was also showing the world just what someone with a glow sting jellyfish can become.

"Screw this! I will show you a real beast of the earth!" with decent frustration a boy had come up to face Maria next. He had gingerly carried the previous girl away while coaxing the mountain tarantula just seconds ago. That was why Maria had not noticed him as an opponent. He had been too nice and kind.

"I take it that's your girlfriend? Sorry about that, but I had to show off to someone." Maria acted a little too innocent, yet, it was all an act. Her main goal was one thing, anger. And it worked. The new opponent had turned even more red than before as he opened his taming space and released multiple beasts.

'Rock goblin- uncommon

The rock goblin is a fairly common beast in caves. The deeper the more you might see them since they abhor the sunlight. They will tolerate it if they are going toward mountains or they are hunting for special food though. They often live in large groups making them very hard to handle.

The rock goblin has a knack for triggering tunnel collapses to kill prey that they normally can not defeat. However, they are also able to make crude weapons out of stone. This makes them tougher due to their twisted intelligence. Yet, it gets worse when one takes in to account that they will often kidnap women to drag in to their caves.

Once they have a leader, the rock goblin often begins to develop more skill in altering the stone. They will often realize their basic skills to manipulate earth and create tougher terrain. This I usually a half step before they grow to become a rock goblin shaman or a rock goblin mage. Normally a rock goblin warrior would accompany these two ulterior growth paths of the rock goblin.

Maria saw that one of the goblins out of three that had appeared was using a sword and shield. The short sword was made of stone and so was the shield. However, the rock goblin was tougher and could easily lift the stone weapons. It was their element after all.

The other two were both holding small thin staffs. This was a clear explanation to Maria that the two other rock goblins would be attacking with those and potentially making trouble with the earth around her. Not to mention her actual tamer opponent that was wielding a stone greatsword.

Four against one was a rough match up but Maira didn't flinch away. She had gone out of her way to anger the tamer even more so that he would charge forward. Unfortunately. It seemed that the three goblins were riled up seeing the mountain tarantula in bad shape. From what Maria had assumed, they treated the tamer as their king and his girlfriend as their queen.

It was the perfect way to keep them controlled while also getting them to fight the best of the best.

Brandishing her two daggers, Maria looked at the goblins again. She saw that they had gray and sick looking skin from not ever going toward the sunlight and their clear earth affinity. They were also wearing oddly carved stone armor around certain parts of their bodies. Yet, Maria still could tell that they would have tougher skin than other beasts.

They also would be resistant to Lit's normal numbing poison.

"Lit, it's time to use some of the concentrated poison you have." Maria would normally not use the strongest poisons that Lit produced. The simple reasoning behind this was because it would be hard on someone's body. The powerful numbing effects could cause issues that led to someone's death because someone would not be able to feel a thing at all.

This moment called for that though. Goblins were beasts that often ate odd things and even toxic things. That alone made them naturally more resistant to poisons than other beasts. Add in the additional earth typing that was toughening their bodies made Maria wonder if they would be even more resistant than other earth type beasts.

With a screech, the goblin with the short stone sword and shield attacked Maria. It seemed not to care that it had been slashed with a dagger as Maria dodged to the side and let it pass her. Instead, it turned and charged again, but this time the other three had caught up.

The tamer making a big overhead swing and the two goblins with staffs slamming them on the ground making the entire arena shake slightly.

" Maria is fighting goblins one step away from becoming a rock goblin warrior, rock goblin mages, and that guy is considered their king as the tamer of the goblin warrior to be. She can handle them but this is her last match, Reese, get ready." Clark made sure that he was sending Reese next while he kept an eye on Maria as he had been doing the entire time.

B ut he did see that the rest of his group was very focused on Maria's fight as well.

The dodging and slashing was working very well so far, Maria was faster than the tamer and stone goblins. However, she had been unable to properly harm the tamer yet, he had been able to deflect the daggers with the length of the greatsword. It also showed off his knowledge of his own body being able to do so with a heavy stone sword that left marks on the arena.

The goblins were slightly different. Maria could see that the numbness was setting in slightly, not that the three goblins seemed to care at all. They were instead, attacking even more drastically since they did not feel their wounds at all. Lit had been providing the strongest poison that she could, but it hadn't been enough.

"Take a little bite where you came. Preferably out of the tamer." Maria showed a look of annoyance and she felt her midnight eel heed her words. While she dodged to the side and slashed again, she heard the surprised cry from her side where her opponent had been preparing to swing down again at her.

The great sword fell to the ground with a thud that only stone on earth made. The three goblins stopped in their tracks as if they were being chilled to the bone. They saw their tamer with a large bite wound on his shoulder. This made their eyes turn red.

The next second, the goblins flew at Maria in a rage trying to attack her. Yet, her footwork replicating Lit had become too advanced. She dodged numbly under and around the foolish attacks of the goblins. This allowed Maria to tangle them up as they attacked her. Instead of staffs and the short sword hitting her, they collided where she had been.

"I will be taking your tamer's life now." Maria found a single opening and exploited it. The blood was already gushing down the boy's shoulder, he was unable to properly pick up the greatsword. Therefore, Maria was able to outspeed him and appear right before him. In a single step, her foot tripped him and her hand pushed him. "I win." Maria looked at the dumbstruck expression on the boy's face.

He could only wince in pain as Maria stood up and the referee called the match over.
