Chapter 336: First Criminal
Chapter 336: First Criminal
"That's not normal at all." Reese and Brad were one and the same in this statement. They both had metal type beasts but were stunned that the chains the boy was using were cutting in to his own body while being whipped out at the flameTiger.
"Those chains are worse than you think." Clark had already said what the system analysis had told him. The cutting and price that the tamer paid just to use them. However, they also were a beast that never entered a taming space. That meant that the tamer would always be in pain. When he slept, when he relaxed, when he ate, it would be all the time.
"I don't know how he has been able to let that beast grow. If it gets stronger won't it kill him eventually?" Isa had also heard what Clark said. But she had interpreted it much differently than the others. She heard that the chains could grow and become larger. At that point, wouldn't the chains become a beast that completely trapped and killed the tamer?
"I think that is the point. This boy will eventually die and is part of this Ethereal academy traveling the world. It's a way for him to get the most out of life." Maria wanted to look at the positives of what this academy might be trying to do.
"I like your thoughts. You and Grace both seem to think that. I wish the world was so kind." Clark had become more focused. His gaze was tougher as he watched how the chains wrapped and cut in to the flame tiger while doing the same to the tamer.
"Have any of you heard of beasts that consume their tamer?" Clark's thoughts hit their peak when Ralph mumbles this question. "I heard that some of them do that and they live past the tamer's death. They become tools. Living tools for criminals." Growing up the way that he had, Ralph had heard a lot of the criminalistic activities. Rumors, and just the odd dark story. But this one seemed to ring true.
"That's… disconcerting." Reese felt his sword shiver slightly in the sheath. He had the feeling that the metals were very different. His sword was part of his body. An extension. The true bond between him and the desire for perfect form and bonding between the two of them. But this chain was something that wanted to shave away the life of its tamer.
"We need to keep an eye on what the Ethereal academy really wants. They are a traveling academy that somehow managed to get here and in to the tournament. Why?" Clark felt that there was something at work here that wasn't necessarily related to Nebula city and the leader of the city at all. That this academy had somehow managed to pressure its way in to the tournament with ulterior motives.
"Why does everything seem to be so complicated since I was set up to do this tournament with all of you?" Grace was a little exasperated. She wanted to just grow stronger and stick to the positives. However, she was looking at Clark who was the center of all this change and darker thought.
She wondered if he was a magnet for it or if he was just able to see beyond the surface and show the truth of all things. It made her head hurt to think about too much.
"That tiger just lost a leg. Solar academy just lost the first match." Ralph stood up to watch the Solar academy student call his flame tiger back. However, even after the referee called the match a loss for Solar academy, the chains lashed out at the tamer and the flame tiger.
The chains wrapped around their necks and in a split second, there was a massive wall of ice freezing the chains and the tamer that had come up on the stage for Ethereal academy. "Due to the attempted murder of an opponent, Ethereal academy has lost this point. This criminal will be removed from the city and sentenced accordingly."
The man that spoke was holding a sword that emitted a large amount of frosty steam. He stepped forward and held the frozen block of ice like it was nothing. The chans crumbled leaving a bare minimum left in the frozen chunk attached to the tamer. The entire arena watched as this happened and did not flinch since it was expected that this would be the price.
However, Clark was watching the Ethereal academy students. They didn't react either. It was as if this was all expected. That they had just waited for this to happen. The boy with the flame tiger was busy checking his partner's wounds. He was afraid that he would lose his valuable tamed beast forever, but he was also rubbing his neck.
He had just escaped death by the slightest of margins.
'Frozen mist sword- ultra rare
The frozen mist sword is a very unique ancient metal and ice type beast. It is a sword made in the frozen palace dungeon by the oldest of humans out of beast materials. The ice typing has increased over years of being exposed to the coldest temperatures. It is so cold that the moisture in the air becomes frozen along the blade if unsheathed.
It can control the cold mist to freeze large areas easily. With the ice domain sword style, the tamer can use the full strength of the mist to freeze opponents under their gaze. They can also become immune to the ice entirely as well.
The metal typing allows the sword to remain in tough defensive stances against tougher opponents while freezing them. This is why it is considered one of the rarest and best beasts to be found within the frozen palace dungeon ever.
The records of the sword and tamer are key in the current history of Nebula city. It is highly recommended to look in to the.'
The system gave a very specific recommendation to Clark. He was not expecting this in the least. The system was smart, but it had never made such a clear desire for Clark to focus on something like this. "Reese, that is the frozen mist sword. It is similar to your partner. But it is made differently and has ice typing while yours is spiritual in nature with metal.
We can do some digging to help you out."
While the others had been stunned by the actions of the guard and the Ethereal academy student, Clark had caught Reese off guard again. "Umm, I can do that?" the sword was so powerful Reese didn't even entertain the idea that he could learn about it.
"We can. I will too. That man has to be a top general here. I guarantee it. He has certainly been to the frozen palace dungeon. Or was it a frozen castle?
Either way, that dungeon that they idolize as the best and most dangerous dungeon, that is where he got that beast." Clark was sure that the system said frozen palace. He wasn't sure if he should worry that the differences in what the dungeons were being called would be necessary. Frozen castle? Frozen palace? Frozen dragon's nest?
He had heard these three from many people gossiping since he got to Nebula academy. It was off that the three names were popping up differently.
"Clark, the next one is coming up." Maria looked a little scared. She saw something she hadn't expected. She saw Lit. But it wasn't Lit. it was something that looked just like Lit…
'Demonic box jellyfish- rare
The demonic box jellyfish has been corrupted by an area full of demonic energy. This makes it radically mutate. Due to this, the tamer may lose their sanity while the best is also altered mentally. The mix of demonic energy will cause the spiritual energy nature of this species of jellyfish to become darkness typing.
There is also a poison typing that becomes the unique decay typing of darkness and poison mixed energies.
The only thing left about the demonic nature is that the box jellyfish has a wisp of demonic energy still corrupting its core and feeding on the soul. If it truly came in to contact with a demon it would most likely be killed instantly. The odds are that the corruption came from a location where a demon perished and the body corrupted the land.
Instead of a poison and healing spiritual nature, it now has a decaying and darkness nature. It can use the darkness to hide and then wrap enemies with its stingers to decay their body constantly. It is considered a living trap. Any beast that falls like this will be considered a menace to its kind and anything that touches them.'
Clark stopped Maria from any panicking. He explained the system's analysis to some degree and watched her face drop. She was still stunned that a similar species to Lit was here. But it was a box jellyfish, an offshoot species of the glow sting jellyfish. However, its current state was still terrifying to a degree.
