Chapter 242: Legendary? No, Mythical!

Chapter 242: Legendary? No, Mythical!

"Your beast is very interesting. I have seen beasts like it and even read about it. But the problem you have is that it stunted its growth. And by it, I mean the lack of materials." That was what Jerold knew he would hear. It was exactly the case he wanted to fix but had lacked the power to change. Strength was strength and that's what he needed to get the materials that he needed.

"We will start a bath of light and poison type herbs. Your chameleon will bathe in it for a few hours. It will strengthen your beast and the energy it can absorb. From there, you will also gain energy so you will meditate while your beast bathes. I will not allow you out of the bath and meditation until the water turns a brown muddy color."

"So you want him to use absolutely all of the nutrients in the bath then use the remnants to create a better poison." Doc could understand that even though this was the roughest form of alchemy, it was important. The bath would begin to rot after all the nutrients had been taken out. This would further force the chameleon to develop the poison typing it had allowed to reach a stopping point.

"It's a good way to process that blockage in growth. I will record it." Ella had returned right beside Doc. She wanted to hear what Clark was saying and was very interested to see a beast that had hidden perfectly from her sight. She also wanted to get ahold of the materials she saw Clark and Maria writing down. It would expand her knowledge of poison type beasts.

Jerald looked at his beast and at Clark. He didn't have words. No one had reached a hand out to him for a long time like this. When one of the professors had said he was being brought to the tournament at the last minute since he was a secondary filler, he had imagined it was to get rid of him. But now, he had some hope.

"My name is Grace Lamb. I am the last of my family after my mother, father, and younger brother escaped a beast outbreak of a small maze dungeon." Grace had been standing silently but she was well aware of Clark's eyes on her. She decided to make a move and introduce herself before Doc tried to do so for her.

"My beast is not normal, it doesn't have a physical form. It's called a wind whistler. She is a wind spirit that has mimicked nightingales and other birds in the forest. I was told that she can only show herself when the wind energy is high but she always tells me what is going on around me. She even sends me images of what things are shaped like in the air as a sixth sense."

"So that's why I can tell that you have-"

"I understand what you can see in the air with your skill. But ask your beast to manifest with Ella's help. She has a beast that has control of wind to a degree." Clark stopped Grace from giving away that Devi was floating around in the air. This sixth sense was unique because it could help Grace know what was going on around her. However, her beast could not deal any physical damage.

It was a very unique support type beast with a very unique skill.

"I have fused my beasts Clark. They are not a singular high wind wisp. I will introduce you to my partner, living mist. I will create a new path to a beast no one can breed yet." Ella was proud. She did not think she would show off one of her beasts so early. But as the mist formed and a cool damp breeze came over the room, Clark was impressed.

"You really fused your high water wisp and your high wind wisp! That's amazing!" Maria understood the depth of this. Not many researchers had done anything like this. Many didn't even bother to experiment with wisps because of their weaknesses and the fact that they usually just grew in to elemental spirits or sprites. It was not common to spend time creating new paths like this.

"It's pretty amazing. I haven't thought that this could be a thing either. I bet it can make some awesome illusions." Isa hit the skill the living mist would have perfectly. It was not going to do much for physical attacks but since it controlled its body with well, it would be able to create some amazing illusions.

Ella was beaming with pride. This was a major accomplishment in her life. The living mist reflected her joy and a partially formed face like hers was formed out of the mist. "Alright, we need wind right?" Ella and her partner were able to do so.

The room began to become full of a damp breeze as the living mist released some of its wind energy. Soon the form of a small finch came in to view.

'Wind whistler- rare

The wind whistler is a beast that has almost no physical form other than sentient wind energy. It has long copied the birds within the forests and fields it often lives in. The best way for a wind whistler to grow is to absorb massive amounts of wind energy from storm winds.

The wind whistler can take on additional elemental energy depending on where it lives. Volcanic winds will allow it to grow in to a dual fire and wind elemental type beast. In icy areas, it will grow in to an ice and wind type beast. They are rarely seen in these forms though due to their weak nature.

They are a support type beast that often enhances or grants another sense to their tamer. This can be increased through their growth and often helps them fight against beasts that use illusions or blinding skills.

The best material to use to give it a more physical body is large numbers of wind and ice-type crystals. The next step in growth using this method would be the frost finch which can make a wind and ice body…'

"The wind whistler is a very interesting beast. I can help it make a solid body but it will come at a high cost. It will also have to isolate itself with these materials for at least five days." Clark knew that this would be a decent chunk of the journey to the north that would leave Grace without her partner's ability.

"I will accept that. The rarity of my partner gained me entry in to the academy. If I can truly fight against others and rise to lead the memory of my family…"

"We understand. You will be able to do that with our help. Maria knew that this would ring strongly in Clark's mind since he was also the last of his family. But she wasn't going to let him dwell on it. She could keep him from feeling these things and that's what she would do as often as she needed to.

"You will have to know that even if the body it makes or out ice and wind is broken, that you beast will not be lost. It will just need to gather more energy to create a new one. If you can take advantage of the natural ice in the north, you may be the first in a long time to gain insight on the growth plan for the blizzard phoenix." The room went silent. Doc's jaw dropped to the floor.

"How could that be possible? The young phoenix is created when another perishes or creates an egg with half of its internal energy and body. It is a dangerous and extremely rare legendary, no, mythical beast." Doc was still trying to understand this process.

"No, that's correct. Phoenix is thought to be a beast that is undying because it can grow from infant to adult over and over. Its body is changeable. That means this is theoretically possible but must require extremely rare materials and intense training. It could take fifty or sixty years to even get half way there." Ella saw the pieces that Clark had connected.

But she had done so from his words without a system. It was much more impressive.

"While all of you work on what we have told you, we are going to record a few journals. Doc isn't going to the North with us so he can start selling and publishing their beast growth plans and journals. Right Doc?" Isa took advantage of the shock Doc had to drop this on him. He couldn't even say no. He just wanted to see more of the theories and plans that had been presented just now.

They were all groundbreaking.

"Good plan, Isa. we will have a sizable base of gold for when we return. For us to keep growing." Clark felt that Isa was looking well ahead of what he had done when it came to their business growth and future in the academy. It was brilliant.
