Spirit Taming

Chapter 233: Linked Chain

Chapter 233: Linked Chain

Getting himself up took a while. Clark had barely regained enough energy while Devi and Crim had been returned to the taming space to rest properly. The battle had been unexpected but also enlightening. He had gained a lot of information about the mysterious people that had created this dungeon, but even more about the gargoyle species.

The ancient gargoyle was one that was forced to gain strength beyond what its body could handle. This was a taboo for any tamer because it spelled incredible pain for their beast. On top of that, it could cause the bond between tamer and beast to shatter.

Even more shocking was that the ancient gargoyle had not desired to truly battle Clark. It had desired to find the one human that had come in and been with a gargoyle naturally. Having one as a spirit beast had set Alexander apart in the ancient gargoyle's eyes.

Unfortunately, the ancient gargoyle could not move or even think about traveling from the dungeon. It had been there too long and barely had a body left that had not been worn away by power. This meant that finding Alexander was impossible.

Yet, Clark had waltzed in and been tested by four gargoyles. Four gargoyles that were Alexanders. Along with this, Clark had investigated and found the hidden secrets of the living stone church. It was the perfect chance to be released from the years of being trapped while also ensuring the information gets to the one it desired.

This led Clark to give a silent prayer to the gods of creation. Whether they were real or not, he wanted the ancient gargoyle to rest well. It had only done its best so that it could finish the task it was given. An honorable beast that only desired its species to grow properly.

Chain quest- Final link- completed

The fifth scripture has been hidden even from those that built the stone church dungeon to give the unique monster, stone imps, a home. The fifth scripture is the only and final known information to help the gargoyle reach the strongest growth potential possible.

Requirement: acquire the fifth scripture

Reward: Enhanced meditation by two times permanently.'

'The host will be better able to absorb energy and strengthen their body with the mediation being permanently increased. This change will occur the next time the host rests to avoid unnecessary pain.'

The system felt kinder in this. Clark could tell that it was taking his current condition in to account. His weakness because of the trials Alexander gave him. Along with the hidden gargoyle that had been waiting for far too long to pass on the knowledge.

"Let's see those five gotcha pulls. I need to see if I can get some additional items to help me recover." The healing water that Clark had gulped down from previous pulls seemed to be doing too little at the moment.

'Healing water…

Gray gauntlets- uncommon

The gray gauntlets were made in a unique way to prevent elemental energy from transferring through them. This allows them to be best used with shields to deflect elemental attacks. They can boost the defense of the hands significantly because of this.

Shadow crystal…

Soul stone…

Puppets thread vine- legendary

This is a very rare vine that grows only in large cave systems. It is able to latch on to the dead bodies that appear around it. The plant will make the bodies twitch like puppets on a string so that it can scare away its predators. It is not a sentient beast but a complex plant. This is ideal for a certain beast to consume when it is in an infant stage of life.'

"Hm?" Clark was not sure if he should be happy. He got a legendary material for a beast but what beast? It was too hard for him to find the answers right away. But he could only take out a healing potion and healing water to drink from his spatial ring. He wasn't getting better medicine for his aching body just yet.

The soul stone was thrown in to the eden's end taming space along with the shadow stone. They would both be ideal for Devi and the egg to hatch. Crim was already asleep and restoring energy at a rapid pace. It was extremely impressive to see the tenacious dragon energy wishing to return to its prior state. To grow even more while the one that wielded it was resting. Dragons were truly terrifying.

"What should I do next? I could return to Alexander…or I could hatch my new partner." Clark had the hatching potion. He also had the shadow stones. It was an ideal chance to make a new bond and welcome his third partner in to the family. However, he was not in a safe place. He had to get out of the dungeon first.

"What have you done!" Alexander's voice echoed around the entire church. He had seen the changes to the dungeon weather, the areas around the village and the church, and especially the stone flowers that had begun to grow.

"I came here because you took too long after passing my trials. I tested you but my beasts did not say you were severely injured. Now you are down there covered in all manner of scrapes and bruises. You look like you are about to collapse. And there's a massive hole in the floor!" It was understandable that Alexander was distraught to find this.

"Haha, come down here old man. I found the thing you need most. I found the path your gargoyles need to travel to become stronger!" Clark laughed as Alexander was stunned. He eventually made his way down to the basement and saw the remains of the ancient gargoyle. Clark slowly explained what he had found after breaking through the door that had been reinforced with earth energy.

From what Clark could tell, every word made Alexander's eyes widen. He had not imagined he had missed so much in the dungeon. He had trained his partners here after the cult had been cleared.
