Spirit Taming

Chapter 216: Those I Thrust

Chapter 216: Those I Thrust

"Why are all the healers I sent to find solutions being called back? What is the meaning of this?"The headmaster came in with a fury. He had moved some of the healers to the library and closed studies so that they could find more solutions that they would be able to sue for the attack on the Star City Lord's daughter.

"I asked for them to come back. I will see what those I trust can do before I continue to watch these healers fail." The Star city lord replied with a demonic aura. This was enough to show the headmaster exactly what the city lord was feeling. Exactly what kind of killing intent would be directed at their home if the Star city Lord lost his daughter here?

"If the Star city Lord is going to trust you, then prove it to me as well." The headmaster had grasped the situation in seconds proving his intellect beyond what a normal man would have. Clark could only expect that though. This was an academy headmaster that was a renowned throughout the city and beyond. Not many would expect less.

Since the headmaster had figured things out to a degree, Clark took it as a good sign. However, the headmaster did not realize just how bad this situation was. From what Clark had seen, he had somehow managed to get in to a major issue.

"There is one, and one reason why this young woman is not staying healthy when healed. All the healers in this room could heal her until your soul burned out and all you would do is hold off the cause of this poisoning." Clark pointed fingers around the room at every healer, "There is one person here who isn't a healer at all though. Just a false identity."

"What do you mean by that?" The Star city lord was gritting his teeth. He was ready to lash out at the culprit who he had thought had fled the scene. Now he was being told that they should be in the very room with him? Taunting him?

"Blood poison leach." The simple beast name was all Clark needed to say. He had already read the system and was about to share it all.

"The blood poison leach is a leach that is partially undead. As they consume the hosts' energy, they spread a poisonous mucus that rots the insides. From there it will use the body as a nesting ground. The more the body lives, the more it can feed. It's a rare forbidden beast that is executed whenever it is found in the wilds or anywhere in the world.

No one should have one even as a spirit beast because of the cruel way it breeds and hunts. Burrowing inside someone's heart…"

"How despicable." The headmaster growled out. As a high up official in the city, he clearly knew the dangerous forbidden beasts. He had to, he needed such knowledge to prevent the worst from happening. The signs were there right in his face. But as a beast that was forbidden, no one had considered it was here.

"And the treatment? How do I find the one that caused this?" The Star city lord was visibly shaking while holding back his anger. His beasts were within his taming space trying to burst out in response to his anger. The Star city lord may have had only one beast he put all his effort in to growing, but that didn't mean he had not raised a few weaker bodyguards.

"That's the thing. My friend here has a beast that can secrete a numbing poison. She will inflict it on your daughter to remove her pain. Then she will heal her again. This time every person in this room will cut their hand."

"Because the blood poison leach absorbs life force itself and passes some to its tamer. Clark, you and your team are some of the brightest students. Remind me to reward you for this." The headmaster pulled out a dagger and ordered the healers to line up. Even Clark's group cut their fingers out of good faith.

By the time the headmaster made it to the last healer, he tried to dart away. The false identity had been blown and their mission was on the verge of failing. "In the name of the blood moon, I claim the life of-" Chains wrapped the man completely extinguishing his powers but keeping him alive.

"Everyone leave now. We will be interrogating this man." The headmaster waved a hand to dismiss the healers. Clark kept his group there while the headmaster, the man captured, and the Star city lord remained.

"I know you two already know of our charades as other people for safety. So allow my beast to claim the energy of the blood poison leech. With Maria healing your daughter, we can kill the leach before it harms your daughter anymore. After that, Ella will work with Isa to cool your daughter's body to remove fever and help the leach dissolve in to her body.

Naturally, the headmaster should have the strongest healing potions with him. He is a very prepared man from what I have heard."

Clark saw the nod from the Star city lord. He was impressed that Clark knew a method to remove the dangerous beast from his daughter. Yet, his attention was focused on the man that his chain maiden had caught.

"My personal bodyguard, the chain maiden, was a gift from the north. The iron that she feeds on is called cold frost iron. It causes her chains to slowly freeze the body. If you do not speak out before your energy is sucked away and you become an ice sculpture…well, no words will be left behind, just pain." shivers were all that could be felt around the room.

The headmaster just turned his head and helped Clark.

"Devil, come and help as I instruct." The appearance of Devi did not shock anyone. The Star city lord expected this and Alexander had allowed the headmaster to become privy to the true nature of Clark and his group. They did not see any issues with Clark's plans nor his reasoning for doing what he did.

Through some magical means, the Star city lord snuffed the sounds around him. Therefore, they worked calmly to heal the daughter. As soon as Devi bot down, Lit was healing and numbing the pain. But the blue and purple veins faded while the paleness returned to rosy pink.

A fever broke out but Isa and Ella together spread a thin layer of frost over the girl's body to halt it. Lastly, there was a break of energy that caused the Star city lord to give them a signal. The wave of his hand showed that the blood poison leach had died. Now the headmaster was able to heal with the highest healing potion he possessed.

The moment that the Star city lord saw that his daughter was breathing normally in slumber was when he handed over the completely unconscious man to the headmaster. "The blood moon cult will not worm its way in to my city. I will renew the hint for the blood moon dungeon. I am leaving after two more days of well earned rest with my family.

I will have your best guards with me after they are examined by you and your students here. Afterwards…"

The star city lord fished something out of his spatial ring, "You may take this. It is my seal. The shooting star is only used by my family. If you are ever in need you may ask help of me. Even if it goes against my values, I will help." This was a major piece in the puzzle for Clark's future.

"We were able to do something small to help you. I believe you would have saved your daughter somehow some way at any cost. That is very clear." The Star city lord just nodded before sitting down next to his daughter. His character was clear for them to see.

"I will escort these students out and get my personal beasts as your guards. Please take some time of peace for the trouble that has happened here." Since the headmaster assured him that his beasts would be there as guards, it was all the star city lord needed to hear.

On the walk out, the headmaster glanced at them, "The banned beasts showing up in public is a major issue. You will remain silent or else you will face consequences. I will ask Alexander to go in to more details to keep yourself safe. For later, visit my office. I promised a reward and you will get it. Each of you will for the actions you took."

The four were left pretty stunned as they watched the headmaster start to leave. "Hey, thank the guard with the ice lion. He let us through to see you." Clark would not forget what he had promised. He wasn't just using the professor that let them in. He had helped them greatly.
