Chapter 164: 164. Doc's Beast

Chapter 164: 164. Doc's Beast

"Get out of the way! You have to protect us as a professor of the Nova academy. If you don't then you will have to face the Cain family! You will pay if you fail here!" The familiar voice made Clark turn sour. Everyone knew who it was shouting. Everyone knew who had led this beast to them.

Everyone knew who to hate at this moment.

"I thought they had fled back to the academy with their tails between their legs. But here they are." Clark growled out in frustration. He hated that the Cain family had just brought one of the tougher beasts to face here.

"Don't worry about them. Look at their skin. They have already met their end." Maria relished the fact that the two who had threatened them were already infected by the attacks of the dungeon break beasts.

The skin on the two Cain family members was cut up, yet even worse, there were purple patches that blossomed out through their veins. The poisons from the plague fly and the swamp flies were spreading quickly. This was the price they had paid for their arrogance.

"Listen up! Do not go near that Plague fly. It contains poisons that you can not beat. I will remove-" Doc was shouting out orders but he had not expected that Clark was already in motion.

"Isa, use your flames to burn that thing up. There are swamp flies around it and your flame sprite is the solution. Maria, let Lit poison those two. If they get here they will infect everyone. Ella, can you wisps do anything to slow that Plague fly down? You have wind elemental wisps that can stop them for a moment, right?"

"Of course they can," Ella called on her wisp having it show itself. The spiritual energies that called the other wisps that had been hiding made the area they were traveling become much more active.

The wind energy from the wisps was not powerful. They were not singular strengths that could slice through the worst of the worst. Luckily, the wisps could work together and create a decent gale for the moment. This sudden burst of wind drastically slowed the plague fly that was trying to follow the Cain family members.

The two boys had long lost their beasts to the plague flies. It was a wonder that they were able to move with the great damage to their souls after having their connections severed. One could even say they were lucky, but that was just for them to be alive. They would not be for long.

Using the ability to float, Lit moved as quickly as possible to slap the two Cain family members with her tentacles. The poison released would not have done much to the plague fly or the swamp flies. It did affect the Cain family members.

Their legs became shaky and soon they fell to the ground just far enough from the carriages. The only issue was that the plague fly had seen the bigger prey that came with the merchants and the students. It had been blessed by this in its eyes since it could carry them back to the nest it had made.

Without any hesitation, Clark had pulled the black needles from his sleeve where they always waited for the worst case scenario. He knew that he could not approach the plague fly, the risk was too great. There was also no proof that Devi and Crim could approach without dangers. Even if Crim used the breath attack he had just learned, it would not be a guarantee that it would work.

It had decaying qualities that the plague fly could resist.

"Isa, ready!?" Clark threw the needles infuriating the plague fly. It had been happy about finding easy prey.

"Now!" Isa had fused with her flame sprite and fire danced around her. She had not tried to send small attacks. Instead, she had taken the time to gather a large burst of fire so that the swamp flies around the plague fly would be burned away.

The sudden light of flames and heat surprised the merchants and fellow students. Only Ella, Maria, Clark, and Isa remained calm. Doc was even a little surprised to see the wave of flames heading to the plague fly. Small squeals could be heard as swamp flies burned up. The larger squeal was one that made everyone freeze.

The plague fly had its wings burned which in turn caused it to fall to the ground. The small hairs that were on its body had burned up leaving the black shell that covered its body exposed. Clark's black needles had penetrated the gaps between these sections but done very little damage.

"Now you have done very well. Dealt with those that caused the problems, dealt with the small monsters, and made a very good leadership decision. Let me finish this from here." Doc stepped forward facing the angered plague fly as it began to scurry towards him.

With a single hand, Doc pointed at the plague fly. A single cry came from above as a blazing flame fell upon the plague fly. There wasn't even time for the plague fly to release a pained scream. It had burned in to a charred black mass in seconds.

'Fire bird- Ultra rare

The fire bird is a very rare species of ember hawk. They are grown through tough steps that require high amounts of fire energy to be absorbed. The materials are just as rare as the beast that consumes them. They are considered the toughest flying beast near volcanoes due to the resistance and control of flames that they possess.

This fire bird in particular has a minute bloodline of the phoenix. This allows the possibility to grow in to a phoenix if the fire bird can activate the rebirth skill contained within the bloodline. This fire bird is birthed from a line of fire birds which once mixed with the phoenix beast species.

The materials…'

"Doc's beast is…powerful." Clark had only one word for this. He had not expected to see such a beast with his own eyes. He also understood why Doc was able to stand tall as a respected professor in Nova academy. He had the research and talent to stand above many others in the academy due to the hard work of raising such a beast.

"That is how you should all aspire to take down enemies. A quick and decisive attack. Also, those that froze up while Clark's group acted." Doc looked at the other students seriously, "You should go to the coliseums to fight more. That is why they were able to act. And you two." Doc looked at the Cain family members paralyzed by lit's poison on the ground.

"You are hereby expelled from Nova academy for gravely risking the students and merchants fleeing for their lives. Not only did you lead multiple dangerous beasts here but you may have contaminated an entire wild area while doing so. You will not be allowed to return to the city at all. Your Cain family would agree." Doc waves to make the carriages move yet again.

His cold words didn't even phase Calrk's group while others shook slightly. This was a truly powerful expert.
