Spirit Taming

Chapter 160: Junior Professor

Chapter 160: Junior Professor

"Are you saying that I might not know what I contracted with? I hatched this egg carefully." Purple was just putting on an act. She clearly had a smile that said she was glad to be asking.

"I think that you heard this was a snake type egg, hatched it, and decided to come to this market street to get more information. I know you won't toss it aside you have a muck serpent and a grass snake with you too. They are weaker snake type beasts but they are well cared for. Very good health."

An opponent like Clark was not sent that Purple could beat. He had seen the two serpents hiding on her body from a mile away. The grass snake hunted rodents and was liked by farmers. It also had great scouting ability. The muck serpent was a beast that usually lived in stagnant pools of water. It was considered the best snake type beast to make antivenoms from.

It came in to contact with a lot of toxic things and was able to grow to fight them off.

"I'm that easy to read?" Purple pretended to be sad. Her act was eaten up by the crowd watching. They thought that they were seeing the true character of the newcomer that declared a hundred wins in the coliseum. The deadly poison user in the colosseum that brought many to cheers and angry roars.

"No, he just has a good eye for these things. The beast plan is written out. We have an agile style training program for you. This is also a materials list. I recommend you take them sooner than later because your hatching will need them to grow soon." Isa held out the papers while the little blue snake glanced around curiously at those watching it.

"I thought that this was a glacial serpent. Is it not? This looks exactly as it does in the books I have read." Purple didn't touch the papers. She waited to hear from Clark. She had been enforced enough to want to hear it clearly.

"Not a bad assumption. The difference is here." Ella moved first to point out the scales. "These scales are pointed that allows this snake to move through water better. If they were hooked slightly they would be to hold on to slippery ice."

"And she is right. You have a river serpent here. Very similar to its ice type cousin but also very different. If you look at Ella's sketch she outlined the traits for you. Also, the notes that Maria took have the requirements to get to its highest growth level. If you can find them." all four of them smiled as Purple took the materials.

"I went hunting for these mosquitos in the forest near the theater pools. I wanted water type energy for a friend's beasts. Now I actually need it myself. For a perfect job with even more information than I expected. Take this." Purple handed them four giant mosquito cores. It was a stunning sight.

"I hope to see you again in the coliseums. I feel like having opponents like you would be fun too." Purple left with a few in the crowd staring off in amazement. They had not expected to see a celebrity like her here.

"Alright, we are leaving too." Clark cleared up what they had put down as quickly as possible. He knew that they now had valuable materials that many in the crowd would want. Without any hesitation, he pulled Ella, Maria, and Isa with him. Just as people were realizing that he was leaving and started to try and ask questions.

With the crowd picking up behind them, the others realized why Clark was pulling them away so quickly. By the time they reached the inn and got to their rooms, they were all out of breath. "I did not expect that to happen!" Isa was in heaven. She had gold coins for their work and they have some valuable materials.

"The giant mosquitoes are hard to find because they are elusive. They hunt in the dark and are quick to run away." Clark was impressed as well. He knew that the serpent that purple had was also an amazing beast. Now she had another to raise.

"What energies are in these though? How do we find out?" Maria was very curious. She was looking at Clark and Ella for the answers. She knew that out of all of them, they would know.

"That is an easy test. I have some elemental crystal shards here. The energies within them will react and cause them to glow." Ella did this to every single core until each had a pair. It was a quick and easy process that many researchers used when finding an unfamiliar material in the wild.

"This is poison, this is water, this is water, and the last one is earth. Not a bad mix. If the poison one is from her man beast then it will be very strong. It could help Lit a lot. The water two should be used for my research unless Isa wants to use one for her ice maiden if paired with another material. And the earth one is useless to all of us.

We should sell it."

"Ella, I had no idea we could do that. I will have to carry crystal shards from now on." Clark was very glad to learn such a trick.

"I will take one. I want to purchase ice materials when I get back home. I want my ice maiden to get stronger. She had been a little dejected lately since she saw the water type beasts in the forest." Isa hadn't said much because she knew it was her job as a tamer to help her beasts.

"That's a good idea. You might be able to take another step in beast growth with your ice maiden. Next, you will have to focus on your flame sprite." Clark had a feeling that Isa had a lot more to handle. She was eventually going to have to find other beasts that had a wind and earth typing to balance her elemental skills.

"Now that we have that settled, tell me. What is your taming space, Clark." That was what Clark had been worried about. Isa had remembered what he had said and this was the time to pay up.

Over the course of the next hour, Clark outlined what he had done and how he had activated his taming space. He also spoke about the older books in the library and made up a story about one falling apart as he read it. He couldn't tell them about the system. It was easier this way.

Overall, Clark had convinced them. "You have a multi stage taming space. They are rare but when it comes to unique taming spaces they are ideal for growth because they will match you and the beasts you have." Ella was working on different sets of paper. She was sure that teaching her younger friends about taming spaces was required at this point.

"Look at these. They are the classifications you need to know. I am still working on my taming space and Isa will need one as well. These can help." It was easier to look at Ella like a junior professor. She was going to teach them things that they had not gone over in classes yet.
