Chapter 150: Breathe Like A Dragon

Chapter 150: Breathe Like A Dragon

"What are you looking at?" The generic tough guy act did nothing to impress Clark.

"I was looking at you. I heard you have a bone fist ape that can fight pretty well. I want to spar." Talking his way in to a battle seems too boring. Just flat out asking was direct and got the job done.

"Really? You heard that I have a rare beast that can crush weaklings and you delivered yourself as a punching bag? No. scram kid." The tough guy act continued while Clark rolled his eyes.

"Crim, come out." Crim stepped from the taming space drawing instant attention. The way Crim's body was held showed a flaunting attitude. His raised head screamed that he thought he was the best beast around. However, Clark could feel the incredible aggression and pride Crim had.

This was what a dragon felt. What a dragon had flowing in their bodies at all times. Crom knew he had the strength to face an opponent that Calrk chose for him. He knew that he had a chance to grow right now. He knew he could win.

"Ha! A baby dragon? I can beat up on that. I hear they are tough." The tough guy decided things were worth the challenge for a bit. Even if he won, a baby dragon should be able to recover so it was no loss to him to have a real match right here.

"Good, then we will fight in the middle of this area. Beasts only." Clark took himself out of the equation. It was for Crim to rely on himself and only himself.

"Afraid to fight me? Really?" There was some doubt in the tough guy's eyes. He wanted to have a match all in.

"My beast needs to learn some lessons on solo hunting. This will be better. Unless you are afraid your ape is too weak?" Clark watched the ape reveal itself behind the tough guy. It growled slightly before puffing its chest to show its muscle.

'Bone knuckled ape- Rare

The bone knuckles ape is rare due to the fact that it is a highly hunted species. The bones on its knuckles are a second layer of defense to fight against their main predators. They are often hunted to be turned in to tough fighting gauntlets.

They have a very high physical attack due to the large muscles they develop through fighting their own kind. They have basic earth typing that separates them from their fire affinity cousins. The best materials…'

Clark was impressed. The stark white hair that the ape had matched the bony knuckles. Anyone unfamiliar with this beast would miss the danger hidden in the fur. However, the gray skin that showed itself on the bare chest was to further show the intimidating muscles to fellow apes.

Understanding his opponent was nothing right now. Crim lacked what Clark knew and that was on purpose. Clark wanted to watch Crim fight with only his own strength. This wouldn't be a real challenge. "Crimson, fight and win. Do not kill your opponent." The order was out and nothing else needed to be said.

"Fine. Go show him a real beast's strength." The tough guy let his bone knuckled ape move to the center of the sparring area. Clark let Crim walk out and they both met eyes.

Crim growled. Not just a soft growl, one that made the ground directly under him shake slightly. This was a growl of an apex predator spotting his prey. Clark had used his full name. Something only used when Calrk was completely serious about something. Crim knew this and took the same focus needed to match Clark's will.

In the matter of a few seconds, the ape howled out in a partial roar and partial scream. It was the last thing it did before speeding toward Crim. Normally, such a call would intimidate weaker beasts. This did not work on Crim.

The way that Crom had learned to move was one that reflected a slime. It was a dodge that caused his body to move abnormally. When The first punch from the ape missed because of how Crim moved, many people were attracted to watch the battle.

The second punch was the one that Crim let hit him. As a dragon, dodging the whole time was an insult to the essence in his body. Therefore, when he felt the scales crack and his claws slide in the dirt of the sparring area, he had rage bloom within him. There was no pain for a slime body. None that was real.

Crim jumped back and used his wings to propel him higher. This allowed for the third punch in the combo to miss completely. It also let Crim slash down with his dragon claws on the ape's shoulder.

The result was a brilliant red staining the clean white fur and a screech of pain from the ape. "Get your head in the match and beat down that lizard!" Tough guy did not look so tough now. He had rarely needed to face someone capable of hurting his beast.

The order was enough to make the ape not underestimate Crim any longer. An instant change came over the ape and the bones showed their full strength. Spike had appeared on the knuckles and the ape started to bounce in place.

"So that is the special skills it has. Boxer's bounce and spiked bone knuckles. Let's see." Clark mumbled to himself as the next punch moved at Crim much faster. The ape was able to move around from side to side getting better and better angles. Crim just stood tall and allowed for the hits to come.

Scales cracked and red slime oozed out. The students all thought that Clark was too deep over his head and should stop the battle. Naturally, the students didn't realize that this slime was actually Crim's body and not blood.

"You were all talk but now what?" The tough guy shouted for a few moments taking some revenge since his beast had a cut up shoulder.

Crim jumped up and made distance shocking the ape that thought Crim was already beaten. When Crim showed his body recovering and then swelling up with a large breath, everyone was stunned. They had no idea how Crim was moving like this.

Clark had expected a roar. A powerful and gut wrenching roar from Crim. However, when the sparring area lit up with a strangle black flames, Clark felt he was the one shocked. He had not expected that the dragon essence Crim had just consumed had awakened such a skill.

Using the system, Clark found the difference in Crim now and what he had last checked. "The bond of death and life had fused with the slime dragon. They were born from a dead dragon and came to live again. As dragons always breathe some form of attack, the flames were melded with the newly awakened death energy.

The decaying effect of black flame breath is the rarest draconic breath weapon on par with fairy breath."

After Clark mumbled all of this out loud he knew it was real. Even though the ape had managed to retreat, Clark felt the terror around him. The scorch mark from the breath attack was still smoldering. But not with heat, with the decaying effect that killed any weed and blackened the sand.
