Spirit Taming

Chapter 130: Doc's Plan

Chapter 130: Doc's Plan

"That's perfect then! The whole group is now closer than family. How about that? We can finally start being serious and learn some more." Doc interrupted the moment without any hesitation. He was sure that they had all reached the conclusion they should anyways.

"And with that, Devi, do not show yourself to Doc for even a moment unless I give permission. He lost the right to see what you have in skill set." Devi laughed slightly as he turned invisible.

"Wait, can I see him later?" Ella looked at Clark with pleading eyes. She couldn't let this opportunity escape.

"Of course. You didn't just ruin the perfect moment that we became a proper taming group dedicated to cleaning up our city. Doc did." Clark stood up and helped Isa stand as well. Ella and Maria stood alongside them while Maria looked at Clark's now healed wounds.

"You don't need to worry, you and Lit healed me perfectly. I couldn't be better." Clark made a show of moving his arms and stretching his legs to make sure that Maria would stop worrying about him.

They followed Doc in silence while everything settled in. the experience had opened their eyes to what they were now. Calrk had already realized that he was weak. He had stagnated in his growth. Yes, he had learned more moves such as the rising moon slash. But it was not enough.

Devi was not getting the attention for his growth that he needed. Crim was still lacking battle experience. This research expedition was not enough to make them stronger. It was just serving to show them the weakness they possessed.

"Stop thinking too much. All of you are research oriented right now. That means you are thinking constantly about what you need to do. You are young, you feel like you should be standing higher than you are since you are all elite class or unique class tamers in the very best academy. Correct?" Doc turned and looked at them for a moment.

"Then you will need to take the right steps. Right now, that right step would be to make it to Star City. Look at everything another city is capable of. Prepare for when the academies hold their annual competition. Prepare to take the top spots. The rewards are enough to make all of you rise higher than any other student in the academy."

This was not normally information that could be shared so early in the year. Students would usually be given this information after the respective competitions within the student groups. They would find the strongest student in each year then they would be able to compete against other students from other cities.

This was known to the city because many merchants would go to the designated host city. From there, the boom in economy strengthened each city and allowed the best students to procure amazing rewards. All in all, this was an opportunity that not many could claim.

"I want a breeding specialization, a battle specialization, an analysis specialization, and a healing supporter specialization. The other specializations can come from wherever. But you four will take those. I will help and so will Alexander. He just doesn't know it yet."

There was a reason Doc was trusting this to them. He didn't want to say it outright but these were the four most talented students he had ever seen. Where Isa failed in power she made up in when it came to an eye for business. He wanted to guide that eye to look at items closer.

Clark was the battle proficient one. For someone to grow so fast and learn powerful moves for a technique that was not ever used anymore due to the love of swords or long ranged weaponry, was amazing. It was like watching someone sped up by magic.

Of course there was Ella as the prodigy beast breeder and researcher. She would easily claim any competition reward for such a thing. Then add in Maria who was proving to be a capable support and healer with the ability to poison and heal herself or opponents.

"So you want us to take all the prizes. Why do you want us to do that? Why us?" Maria was sure that they had some qualities that others did not have. But the real question was, why did Doc invest so much in them without them doing much of anything.

"A good question. It's not too complicated though. I am getting older and I want to see a strong younger generation before I turn in to a cranky old man. I want to invest in the best to let them take the city by storm. That and who knows what dangers lurk in the wilds. More and more dungeons are found every single day.'' This was very vague and Doc knew it.

But that was all he would say.

"You want me to learn to analyze beasts. But Clark and Ella can already do that better. Why not train me more in fighting?" Isa thought that she would be the worst at analyzing beasts. She hadn't been doing it at all. Yet here she was, Doc wanted her to rise to that position.

"You have an eye for business. Have you not already spoken in front of everyone about the best way to make money here? You have these ideas and you hyper focus on them. Analyzing beasts is the same. Just hyper focus on the small details and pretend you are making money from it. It's basically what Clark will be doing for your business."

"So I would make the plans and Isa will be able to analyze beasts. That would work out well. She wouldn't get tripped up when she took clients for us." Clark felt that it made more sense that Isa learned to become an analysis of beasts and eggs too. She would be the first person to meet their clients and she had to turn away some before they got too close.

"I knew I would have to learn more…" Isa sighed. She thought she had much longer before she had to learn such things.

"I need to develop my theories better before I compete. I need a water growth plan for the wisps. I need more materials and information." Ella felt that she had nothing prepared to take on such a large task. She had to assume that there were better geniuses in the other cities.

"Just wait until we leave from here to see Star city. You will meet a few students that might gossip a little. Try and learn something about who you may face. They are not the strongest city nearby. Nore in the alliance we have. But it is enough to have a step up." Doc brought the group to the camp as he said this.

Many of the other students had made their way back. They looked rough around the edges and had clearly been victims of water fairy pranks as the night had gone in to the morning. Not a single one of them was showing any smiles.

"Anyone who needs healing can offer some materials you gathered to those with healing beasts. In the wilds, you need to bargain what you have to get what you need. Some people take it by force, others will bargain. Healing usually can not be taken by force, so you know what to do." Doc's announcement made everyone look at Maria. She was the only one with a healing beast on the trip.

Something they did not realize.

"Go and practice your healing skills. If you will be a healer and support the more Lit heals the better." Clark encouraged Maria who was not used to being the center of attention. Luckily, the Cain family pair avoided them. Their partners did come over and ask for healing.

This small change was a clear sign that the very partners that the Cain daily pair paid to join them were done with their partnership. They had reached a limit after whatever had happened during the night had pushed them to their wit's end with the Cain family.

Knowing that Money would not keep the two lackeys under the Cain family pair signaled that there was a perfect chance for Clark to erase the trouble he was facing. He could set them up and knock them down as solemn as they were in Star city alone.

"Clark." Ella pulled On Clark's arm to get his attention. She wanted to get a diagram and information about Devi. a beast she had never known before existed.

"Let's go. Isa can watch you try and study my beast so that you both get experience. Let's just go to the carriage where we can focus." No one paid them any attending. This was a research class. They could research whatever and most of them didn't care about researching Crim because they didn't need to.

Doc just watched silently as he saw that everyone would be helping the group he was placing his bets on them getting stronger. He had ensured this would happen this way with the journey he set up. Now he just had to watch what would happen in a foreign city. How much stronger they would get from the experience.
