Spirit Taming

Chapter 128: No Harm

Chapter 128: No Harm

The feeling in the air was one of powerlessness. Clark knew that if he even tried to do anything about the water fae in front of him he would be signing his own death warrant. "Thank you for your help. I apologize if we disturbed you. Our game did not go as planned." Being polite was the only way to get through this.

"He did say that you were smarter than most people. Being polite is the best chance for you. Not that I planned to harm you. I made a very good deal with that man to allow all of you the chance to learn some lessons while here. You seem to have grasped one of them too." The water fae didn't show expressions. It was still a beast, it was intelligent but still not human.

"This beast you have, no, this beast she has is interesting. It is like me but not like me. It has more human in it. I have never seen one here." The water fae moved around the ice maiden slowly examining it.

"That's an ice maiden. She is my partner. We have been together for a long time." Isa was able to speak up. Her heart was beating out of her chest the entire time. So much had just happened but she could only worry about her partner. The ice maiden was still cut off from her while watching the water.

"Ice maiden…interesting. But she is fascinated by the water. So much so that she is trying to understand it. So much so that she is trying to change it. But winter and summer are very different seasons. That water is fluid.

It changes. Yours is solid and cold, it stays the same. Little one, do not try so hard right now."

The water fae reached out and touched the ice maiden bringing it back to its senses. The ice maiden retreated to Isa floating in front of her trying to protect her. Due to the water elemental energy, the ice maiden knew that the water fae was powerful.

"I will not harm you. You are different but just a different season. I can not manipulate you in the way I would others. It's like looking in a mirror at a past self growing in a different world. A strange opportunity." The water fae had not started to freeze as the water fairies had. She had more power to prevent

"Don't worry, I'm fine." Isa comforted the ice maiden that still refused to move. It was her one and only bond. The very being that the ice maiden had sworn to protect since birth. How could she just stand back and risk it?

"Adamant like the winter ice and sharp. I like you, a foreign beast that doesn't live here even when winter comes. I will leave a little something with your tamer for you to stare at. When you see that man, thank him. He is the reason you have this chance." The water fae moved right in front of Isa causing Isa to sweat a little.

"Take this, I was holding it since it is of no use to me. Maybe you can find an item that will allow your little ice maiden to grow. If that happens, come visit me again. If I feel it's worth looking at I can praise you." The water fae proved to be a strange being. She was gone in the blink of an eye leaving the bound water serpent skin behind as well.

'Orb of Flowing water- rare

The orb of flowing water is a unique spring water that has been isolated from the spring it came from. It was the first water that bubbled from the spring when it was born and has unique water properties. It does not need to be stored in any specific containers due to its inability to meld with normal water.

The orb can be absorbed by a water type beast to improve its control of water overall or be used as a growth material. If used with a fire material, it can help resistance to flames. If used when frozen by a unique ice type material it can be changed in to the orb of flowing ice. If used with…'

"What was that?" Isa fell to her knees. She felt like her heart had just jumped through her chest and fallen back.

"That was a water fae. The strongest beast around here. And she even gave you a gift. Interesting." Doc came out from behind a nearby tree. "I found your other two members and decided to watch how you performed. When facing a powerful beast you made the right choice, retreat."

"Doc, you're the man that she knows right?" Clark ignored Ella and Maria behind Doc. he wanted to make sure that this was the case.

"Of course, when I was younger I met her. She allowed me to research the water fairies here. I learned a decent amount from it and managed to make it an introductory thesis. It won me clients that eventually brought me to the academy. I had some interesting students, so I took them here. I only come out here when I am stuck on a theory.

The water pools are peaceful that way." Doc seemed to relax much more than before.

Clark sat down on the ground next to where Isa had fallen to her knees. "That was too much."

"We thought you didn't make it…" Maria tried to say more but was stuck with a few tears running down her cheeks. Even Ella was visibly shaken. Her journal was still on the ground with a foot print on it where she had dropped it when Maria pulled her away.

"So, now you have the water bound serpent skin to sell. A full piece sells for about a hundred gold to collectors. Isa's ice maiden will grow. Ella has an idea of the power that water can bring to her little army. And Maria has a little more nerve when it comes to being completely overwhelmed." Doc seemed happy to see that silver linings could come from this.

"Oh, and we have all seen Clark's second beast. Very adorable ghost type beast you have there. I thought that you would be hiding your second beast. But as soon as things became dangerous you swallowed your pride and brought it out to handle the situation. Even threw your spears away. Good on you.

Care to talk about it?"

"You don't think you can all just erase your memories…do you?" Clark wished he could just magically make them all forget that he had another beast. Unfortunately. Devi revealed himself from the taming space and seemed happy not to have to hide from all of them.
