Chapter 118: Ella's Beasts

Chapter 118: Ella's Beasts

The Carriage had belonged to the two Cain family members within their research class. Even worse, it appeared that the two had decided to leave it there with a wad of smoking red ferns. So many that beasts were already attracted to it. Ten mud deer were waiting. But that wasn't what was making Clark angry.

The thing that made Clark want to hunt the two down was the fact that the two Cain family members had deliberately faked their carriage being damaged to do this. It was a dirty trick that only a fool would fall for. Both were an insult to their intelligence and an attempt on their lives.

"I think we will be needed out there." Clark hopped out of the carriage and Ella followed. She was a little confused but soon realized that the other three were on edge for a very good reason.

"Now you can't say that I have something wrong with me. It's clear that the others burned red ferns too. Just not for the same reason…" Ella stepped ahead of the carriage and waved a hand for the others to back off. "Just let me show off as a senior student above you. Well a second year, but still a senior to you." Ella had confidence and the others stepped back.

"This is a good chance to see what Ella is made of." Clark made the comment because he wanted to ensure that Isa made the correct choice. Just because Ella was a research fanatic, didn't mean she was able to defend herself.

Just wait, I heard that her beast is unique and has a lot of ability to change. It might even get the chance to grow in to an opposing dual type beast." Isa obviously knew more than Clark when it came to Ella's beast.

"I want to see too. She might be stronger than we think. It could be good to learn something new." Maria's opinion was much purer than Clark and Isa, it just went to show that some people were innately innocent.

Ella raised a hand and released her beast from her taming space. What Clark saw appear was not what he expected. Instead of a powerful beast, he was greeted with the sight of a pale blue light.

'Wisp- uncommon

The wisp is a very unique beast. It has the ability to grow in to many different elemental and spiritual forms. This flexibility leads it to become beasts that far exceed its initial ranking as uncommon. they are a spiritual template to grow in to other bests but rarely remain as basic wisps in nature.

The strongest wisp ever raised became a legendary existence thought to be on the cusp of mythical if it had lived longer. The wisp can grow under many conditions such as…'

"It's just a wisp?" Clark knew that this was most likely a beast breeder's experiment. The beast breeder could raise a wisp in many different ways. It was plainly said by the system. But the real question was why? Why was Ella saying she would handle a fight with many beasts right in front of them?

"It's not just a wisp. They are wisps. Specifically, this one just needs to call its friends who I have spread out around us." The single pale blue wisp started to vibrate in the air. Before Clark could react, he saw a great change around them.

Multiple wisps of varying colors arrived like tidal waves. Their elemental energy overwhelmed his senses.

"You see, I started breeding my wisps a few years ago. I realized that having my spiritual beast as a wisp was great. It could communicate and bring them together. Now I have an army of wisps under my control with many different elemental types. I even have two others contracted and raised under specific elemental energies. But these wisps can handle those weak monsters.

Just watch."

The sight of multiple earth wisps that had only absorbed earth elemental energies creating spikes was amazing. Even the mud deer were cut apart with single attacks.

The pale green wisps caused some wind blades to form and slice through some of the mud deer as well. The results of these wisps working together was too amazing.

"For now I just have a few fire, earth, and wind wisps. They grew very fast after I isolated them in one room with just the single elemental energy. But I want more unique materials. Basic elemental energies is not enough." Ella's plans seemed to start with the basics and have higher paths available though.

"If I can get water materials while I am in Star city I will have enough data to be able to mix elemental energies and create what I need. But that just leads to the next breeding experiment. I already have my spirit beast that can help control these wisps which is why I can breed them. But if I make another earth and fire wisp? Or another wind and fire wisp? I can sell the eggs for a lot.

Spiritual beasts that don't have to use spiritual materials? Perfect to show off."

Clark, Marai, and Isa were impressed. Not only did Ella find a way to tame many wisps without actually bonding with them, but she had developed many theories. Clark didn't even feel that he had to share what he had read about materials in the system analysis. But he also knew he might be able to use some of it to have Ella help him she desired knowledge after all.

"After we clean up the mess here, I might have a few things you want to know about wisps and materials. I used to read some books I thought were fantasy until I heard what you have to say about wisps." Clark smiled a little while collecting the mud deer antlers.

The sudden offer of information made Ella move very quickly to clean up the materials that she had won. This was also a good way to keep everyone distracted while Clark had Devi check on the Cain family fools hiding in the woods waiting to hear the four of them scream in defeat. The sound never came to them though.

Instead, they started to hear some echoing laughter. Neither of them knew if they were hearing a beast or an actual person. But nonetheless, the two Cain family members rushed away further from their carriage. Once Clark got this information from Devi he smiled.

"Ella, do you have more of those red ferns? We should see if we can attract any more beasts as a gift for whoever set this up. Their carriage is broken and they will need the money to repair it." Clark's devilish tone made everyone laugh slightly. They all saw this as a kind deed to perform.

"Of course I do. I gathered a lot while we walked. I was surprised that you didn't ask sooner." The number of red ferns that Ella pulled out was clearly more than she could have gathered. Clark wondered how many she had already brought for the purpose of drawing beasts toward them while in the wilds before they left the city. But that didn't matter.

The carriage was soon filled with the white smoke from the red ferns causing the very materials it was made from to reak of red ferns. Even without them burning, the carriage would now attract beasts. "Good job, let's get moving again."
