Chapter 113: Travel Plans

"It took Clara eighty two battles to be able to land a hit on me! You did it on your very first try! And you, the Mourne family missed a hidden gem with you. That poor excuse of a brother would never have stayed and fought. He would have run in a second." Alexander was laughing merrily as the slight black eye appeared on his face.

"I…don't…gah!" Clark couldn't even breathe properly. Crim was having trouble holding his shape while Devi was floating as if he was drunk. Maria was more or less in the same shape. After having to battle it out with Alexander as well, she found herself having trouble standing without wobbling. Lit was on the ground unable to float after healing all of them constantly.

"Drink these you two. It will help you regenerate the muscle tissue that you worked during this little training session. But before that, tell me what you learned." Alexander became serious once again. He was surprised and glad that such a new occurrence had happened. But this was to better both of them.

"I'll never trust you when you tell us that Maria is just healing and not fighting. Maria will always be fighting." Clark had managed to steady his breathing but was still not ready to sit up.

"Partially correct. I may have lied, but in the real world, your healer will need constant protection if you won't have them fighting. Lucky for you, Maria seems to be able to power through a battle. Daggers and arrows together make you a decent healer that won't immediately perish. But you need another beast."

"Clark told me that as well. I turned down a thousand shell crab because it will take a long time to grow in to a defensive beast. I was hoping that I might find one in Star City." Maria found that she had a lot less fear for Alexander. She had managed to polish her movements. Along with the fact that she had learned how to heal while in battle, it was even better.

"You should look for a starfish. There are many different species of starfish beast but that is why Star city is named Star city. You will want to find a spiritual one that can heal itself. That will allow you to work better with your growth as a healer, opening the spiritual sea taming space, and defending yourself. A shield that always heals itself."

Clark and Maria were both shocked that Alexander had figured out that Maria was working on opening the spiritual sea unique taming space. For whatever reason. Alexander seemed to be able to look right through them and see what they were working on. "Don't look so surprised. When you reach my age you pick up a few tricks." Alexander handed them the two potion bottles.

"We will have another match like this tomorrow. Sleep while you can. And make sure you both eat, if you don't you will not have the energy." Alexander left the arena as if he had just finished a light work out. But what Clark and Maria didn't see were the bandages under his clothing.

"This two really are something else. I didn't think that she would start to help even after being hit. The Mane family really has a monster of their own making to watch out for." The injuries that made Alexander slow his pace were from his outing. He knew that he had to help Clark improve before anything got more chaotic.

Luckily, Lit had managed to heal a little of Alexander's injuries during the battling.

"You don't think he will actually fight us like that again?" Maria had some hope that she and Clark might get different training.

"I doubt he would do anything else. I thought he would just be giving me opportunities and now he is beating me left and right. But I think I needed this. I wasn't putting my best foot forward." Clark's body screamed at him to lay back down. But he refused. He forced himself to stand and looked at Crim and Devi who were exhausted.

"Come on, get some rest."

The two disappeared within edens end taming space while Marai helped Lit balance on her shoulder. The two painfully limped out of the arena toward the dining hall. Their entire goal was to eat then sleep. They didn't care about anything else.

The next day came quicker than either of them wanted. Alexander arrived at their doors with a loud knocking that neither could resist. "Hurry up, I have a bonus for the two of you to look at. I also want to give you a slight advantage over your competitors."

Clark and Maria were not sure how to feel while they walked back to the arena. Surprisingly, their bodies didn't hurt at all. They had expected to be sore and broken. But with the potion they had been given by Alexander, they had recovered perfectly.

"This is the route you are taking to Star City. It will take you longer but your group will pass through two different beast nests. One is here and the other is here." The path that Alexander showed them went through a slightly rocky area then in to a small patch of forest. It was fairly simple otherwise.

"You will pass through the sandworm nests here. They live where sandstone meets the air. They will eat away at it and create small pockets where they lay eggs. It is rare to have this species so nearby because they often live in the deserts. So be sure to keep an eye out for eggs, they are worth a few gold coins each." It was a perfect chance to make a little money.

"The second is a water sprite forest. Very rare beasts that are even harder to catch. But it's not the beasts you want there, it's the materials that grow there. You can get some spring willows there which are ideal for a multitude of water type beasts to eat and grow. If you manage to gather the seeds of one, you can sell them to plenty of people."

The information was well worth whatever training that Alexander had planned for them. It would be able to take them ahead of most other students. "You will camp here and here for two nights. You are leaving on carriages while walking alongside them in shifts. It is more of a lesson on traveling than anything. I recommend you do not cause trouble because Doc will let you settle problems yourself.

He babies his beasts."

"We will have some personal business to handle on the way there. Two members of the Cain family are out to get us. I angered their young master once upon a time, and Maria is exiled from the Mourne family." Clark was sure that Alexander already knew this though.

"Then you have more reason to work harder today than yesterday. Show me Crim's new skill again. The one where he melds with your body. I have a feeling that it is the skill slime armor but slightly more advanced and still developing." Alexander had looked through a few books and found that Crim had actually found the path to unlocking a unique slime species skill. One that could help Clark immensely.
