Chapter 110: Isa Recruits
Chapter 110: Isa Recruits
"That's one of the Green family's youngest children. Her older brother is pretty powerful but she had a knack for beast breeding. Apparently, she is taking the breeding students by storm. None can even compete with her since she became a second year student in research four months ago." Isa had more information than she let on.
"I take it that she might be an employee? Or is she already a competitor?" Clark knew it had to be related to them and their business idea.
"Employee…if not then a competitor that we might need to have an alliance with." Isa was sure that with such a breeding talent, it would go hand and hand with beast analysis. The best way to monopolize an entire section of the city's markets.
"Her older brother is a decent person. I don't have any qualms if she is like him."
"That's the older boy you fought, right Clark? I can trust whatever you think of him. I think it will be good to get her on board." Maria didn't question Clark. She knew he had a sense for someone and how they were as a person.
"Didn't I say stop talking!? Let's move on to the important facts about this trip." Doc stopped everyone again from talking over him. He was ready to have this lecture over so that he could keep studying the new beast paths his new students had come up with.
"The biggest issue with Star city is the location. It sits on the largest lake and even connects with rivers that feed in to the nearby ocean. Star city is what we have started to call a port city."
The beast that they would see in Star city would be very closely related to the water. That meant that Maria might be the one that won out over Clark and Isa.
Maria had Lit which was a glow sting jellyfish, now a princess jellyfish. But that was just the species. Glow sting jellyfish were not water type beasts. But they did have similar traits and could consume similar materials. Clark has some knowledge about the beasts that would often be in the water and finding spiritual beast materials was not always that far fetched.
Water was thought to carry a lot of different energies from the main lands in to the ocean. There were even rumors from some religions that the waters of rivers carried souls to the ocean to begin life anew. This didn't necessarily mean it was true, but it had some bases.
Spiritual materials were often found within the oceans. Beasts and plants growing would also have a weak spiritual affinity or be able to grow in to a spiritual subspecies.
"And who thinks that they will be able to represent us in a small competition between the Star academy beast analysis division? I want three of you who are willing to represent us in a special challenge." Doc was still talking and had eyes already on Clark. It was easy to guess what was going to happen.
"We will have our newest student Clark join. He will learn a lot watching the older students. I will have Ella Green as our beast egg analysis, and Jeffery Cain as our graduating beast analysis." Doc picked out the people he thought would cover the most topics. However, if he saw the way that Jeffery Cai smiled, he would have known that alternative plans were forming.
"I should have known…" Clark felt that it was an added stress. It was going to be annoying facing another older student that he shouldn't be able to beat. But there was the fact that he had been pretty held back lately. He had been focused on growth and relaxed too much. He needed to get more serious and an added threat might just be what he needed.
"This is perfect. We can use this win as the reason people should come to us. I will bait the rich students here with the fact that they can have a champion with two mentors give them a beast growth plan." Isa was writing note after note to set up contracts. Clark was wondering if she even needed an education with how savvy her business knowledge was.
"Clark, will you be able to handle him?" Maria was not distracted at all. She was glaring right back at Jeffery Cain. She wanted to be able to take him down as soon as possible. If he even tried to harm them, she was ready to show all the strength she had been building.
"Not at the moment. If you look, he has two beasts already. I bet he has a third in a taming space." With the way the research building was, it made it easier for the students to get multiple beasts. They would also have better grown beasts because they had access to more materials and growth plan information.
Clark was sure that he would struggle against such an opponent. He had his trump cards but could not throw them around like they were nothing. He had to make plans. He had to be sure of victory at the right time and place.
"Now, let's get in to more details about the materials we will be looking for." Doc continued the lecture and Clark took notes. It was three hours later that they finally managed to escape the classroom. Luckily, the two Cain family members didn't make a move. But what interested Clark was the girl named Ella who was approaching them.
"You had a fight with my brother. He warned me that you might have more going on than it seemed. He was right. Have you learned much about beast eggs? Or will you stay focused on growth plans?" Her entire concern seemed to be that Clark was coming after her now for her position in the research building.
"I am focused on my own growth. I will make growth plans and identify eggs if I need to. But I have no intention to breed beasts at all. That can remain with you. Although, Isa will want you to join our business." Isa jumped in front of Clark and offered Ella a contract. It was something Clark expected to happen.
"Isa, Maria and I are going to train. I will see you later." Clarke wasn't about to get more involved in this. He had a new opponent staring him down at his new class. He needed to improve himself before they left the city to travel to another.
"Um…isn't that your mentor?" Maria hid a little behind Clark because she knew that Alexander and Clara were not her fans. But when Alexander walked up he smiled at her. It was clear that he was in a better mood than before.
"I wanted to see you now that I'm back. I know you are leaving. It's time for some real training. I have you exempt from classes in the morning. Same with you. I know that you aren't my student but you will be healing him when he needs it." None of this sounded good to Clark.
Alexander was back and cracking down on real training. It could have been a good thing, but he knew that Clara hadn't just gotten stronger alone. Alexander had pushed her.
