Chapter 981 950: Breaking the Rules
Chapter 981 950: Breaking the Rules
He hid to one side, observing what seemed like a transaction, while the dead body didn't seem to inconvenience either party; those seated remained seated, and those standing began to handle the corpse. The scene was tidied up as though no murder had ever occurred.
"I've dealt with the person right in front of you, so let's consider this matter resolved." The speaker had his back to Xiao Lin, his familiar voice resonating beneath thick black hair. Xiao Lin hissed softly and concealed himself more cautiously against the wall.
"Tang! It's not that I'm being overly cautious, but some people in your circles are not respecting the rules. We're just clearing obstacles." With that, he pushed a box on the table towards the person called Tang. "Here's five million. As usual, after the goods arrive, we'll transfer the remaining money to your account."
Tang signaled for his men to take the money, then spread his arms wide. "A deal's a deal, but we in the Northeast are people of stature, respect can only be given once. If such unreasonable demands are made again, Jack, don't blame us for being ungracious."
Jack's mouth twitched slightly, and he forced a smile. "Let's see the sample first!"
The other box on the table contained a light energy chemical weapon, a newly developed plasma propeller still in the validation phase. Xiao Lin was shocked. How could such a thing appear here?
"This is good stuff, you've really got skill, no wonder the price is so high this time." Jack carefully picked up the weapon, weighing just over four hundred grams, less than a pound, lightweight and nimble. White light tubes emitted a glow from transparent bullet holes, and the design was much more aesthetically pleasing than weapons from previous years. "Tang, I'm very curious how you got these; some are experimental items from development projects."
"You don't need to know this; it doesn't count as high-tech weaponry, rather a type of biochemical weapon causing non-bleeding damage by using bacteria to lower human immunity. A reminder: once you buy this, you'll also need to get future ammunition from us; you won't find these resources elsewhere. Think it through!"
"Tang, everyone says you're a leech; this is a ruthless move!" Jack placed the weapon down, his face full of excitement. "I'll take this first; I'll give you an answer on the quantity within a week. When is the last batch expected to arrive?"
"At the latest, next Tuesday at the warehouse. As usual, transfer upon arrival. There's no problem with that!"
"Business is done; let's talk private matters!" Jack had the items on the table cleared and opened a bottle of XO. "I've spent the past few months in chaos; now the misunderstandings are settled, let's have a toast." Jack raised his glass. "To a successful collaboration, Tang!"
Tang raised his glass too, merely brushing his lips against it before placing it back on the table. "Jack, you're too kind."
"Today I wanted to introduce you to a good friend from China." Tang, with his back still to Xiao Lin, shifted his body slightly and responded, but did nothing more. Yet Jack, still in an excited state, didn't notice this, and soon someone entered from outside.
"Wang Zhantian?" Xiao Lin saw clearly from outside. He seemed to be recovering well, though his right leg was still a bit crippled!
The man sitting next to Tang motioned to stand, but Tang pulled him back. He giggled twice at the newcomer, then suddenly drew a gun aimed at Jack beside him, the quick maneuver dazzling everyone.
An interesting scene; Xiao Lin halted his plan to enter the room when Tang drew his gun. There were only five people inside, not counting Wang Zhantian, and the two Chinese men were the toughest adversaries, but capturing Wang Zhantian was still feasible.
The dark gun barrel pointed at Jack's temple, while two other guns were aimed at Tang and his companion. Wang Zhantian awkwardly stood in this sudden scenario, unsure how to proceed; he was an unwelcome guest.
"Uh..." Wang Zhantian's eyes darted around, trying to create an atmosphere to ease the tension. "I came uninvited, it has nothing to do with Jack, I was presumptuous in wanting to meet the boss of the Northeast, so I asked Jack to introduce me. If I disrupted your relationships, I truly deserve to die."
"Tang, put the gun down; it's easy for it to go off accidentally." Jack ordered his men to stand down, grinning at a stern face. "Jack, the person you wanted me to meet is a wanted criminal domestically; this person is being hunted everywhere, the Xiao Family has issued a warrant. What do you mean by all this?"
"Tang, I don't care about your domestic policies. To me, anyone who can bring you and me great profits is an ally! Mr. Wang's father was once our friend. Now he needs help, and there is some misunderstanding involved."
Tang put away the gun and coldly smiled at Jack. "The word 'profit' has a knife on its right side; our relationship is no secret at all!"
"Tang!" Jack realized he'd done something foolish, quickly leaping up to block Tang. "Tang, we've had a long-standing relationship; don't let such a minor issue change that. If you think our connection isn't secretive enough, I'll take care of this person right away." With that, he went to draw his gun to kill Wang Zhantian.
"Save the act for others; I will find another person. Leave your explanation for your BOSS." The person, whose demeanor matched his determined words, instilled Xiao Lin with a memory of someone. "Lang, let's go!"
Jack slumped back into the sofa, casting a sidelong glance at Wang Zhantian, wishing to tear him to shreds but refrained. "Everyone get out and close the door."
"Yes!" The bodyguards stood outside the door. Jack poured a full glass of wine for Wang Zhantian from an empty cup. "See, now I've lost a lucrative avenue; you said you have compensation plans, better not deceive me. Know the consequences of deceiving the Clompor Clan."
"The Northeast is indeed a nice piece of meat, but compared to the central, which plate is bigger?" Wang Zhantian put on a smile, his initial fear long gone.
Jack glanced at him sideways, silently drinking his wine.
Exiting the aerial loft, Xiao Lin turned and landed on the platform. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, you're welcome to visit Qidian (qidian.com) to vote with recommendation tickets and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
