Chapter 1013 981: Icebreaker Shield (Part 3)

"Execute! Kill!"

The restless barking sounded from a dark corner, echoing in the room with those two words, instantly dropping the already suffocating atmosphere to freezing point.

"Who?"

"Who exactly is it?"

The anxiety produced by tension made everyone present stand up. They seemed to have forgotten where they were, searching frantically for the origin of the voice!

"Execute! Kill!" The deep and alluring voice resonated above them, as a black feather drifted into Nicholas's palm, instantly turning to ash. He flashed a peculiar smile, and before anyone could make a move, he dashed toward a set of blinds.

Bam! The vigorous motion stirred the dancing feathers, and Nicholas returned to his position, a hint of surprise flickering in his blue eyes.

Augusto had already drawn his gun and fired toward one corner above, while the others simultaneously aimed and fired at another corner to the upper left.

Black feathers scattered, and a massive shadow lunged diagonally at those below, hurdling over the long table to land in front of Nicholas with immense pressure.

Underneath the black hat was a pale face; bright red lips curled into a subtle arc at Nicholas. He placed his left hand over his chest, knelt on one knee on the table, extending his right hand with black nails only two knuckle-lengths away from Nicholas's chin.

"Nicholas Clompor?!" A chuckle sounded, opening those brilliant lips to reveal white teeth. "There's a grand feast in three days. I hope you can attend on time!"

A black card twirled between his fingers. Nicholas could clearly feel the ripple as it flipped. "You're a cautious man." The black card steadied on his fingertips after halting. "In three days, at seven o'clock!"

As Nicholas reached for the card, it dropped onto the table with a snap.

With a whoosh, someone unknowingly pulled the trigger, and a bullet struck the card from afar, instantly shattering it into pieces.

Nobody saw that coming, and before Nicholas could reveal his murderous intent, a scream echoed from afar. The person on the table seemed to be swept away like a gust of wind, lightly stepping over heads. His right hand thrust into the right side of one person's neck, while his left dismantled the gun, dumping bullets out onto the floor with a clatter.

In the blink of an eye, he'd boldly killed someone, wiping his fingers on the corpse before pushing it aside. He curved his lips, his red lips teased by a pink tongue, provocatively staring at Nicholas.

Nicholas swung his right hand, closing the door tightly, the blinds flipping vertically. The room's lights flickered on gradually, soon illuminating the space as if it were daytime.

"Kill him!" Nicholas ordered coldly, and those who had long been unable to hold back surged forward.

"Nicholas, you can't do this; today is not the day for spilling blood."

"Since when did 'Black Crow's' people respect time?" Nicholas's toes pressed onto the table, and he soared into the air, a long sword aiming where the black-clad figure stood.

With a ripping sound, the table was pierced with a large hole, while the black-clad man soared through the air, showing no intention of entangling with Nicholas.

Nicholas leapt, his right hand seizing toward the black-clad man's right ankle, but at the same time gunfire rang out, causing the force in his hand to slacken.

"Stop!" Nicholas shouted, and the black-clad man dropped like a kite with a broken string, a red bloom appearing on his chest.

Was he hit? Was he dead? Just as everyone prepared to relish their success, the black-clad man sprang up, wiping his mouth. It seemed he felt nothing from the wound on his chest, using his fingers to dig out the bullet right before everyone's eyes.

Just as Nicholas was about to speak, someone opened the door, and a gray-clad man calmly walked in, followed by a smaller figure. With straight black hair reaching his eyebrows, round eyes, and a cute, delicate face, he peeked out occasionally from behind the person in front.

"Who are you?" Casabri was closest to the door. During the chaos earlier, he had leaned toward the door's edge, so when it opened, he was the first to approach the pair. As he shouted, he instinctively reached for the girl.

With a snap! The one who let out a pig-like scream was Casabri. His other arm had been completely twisted off, left dangling powerlessly, while the girl clasped her legs around his head, ready to break it with just a bit of force.

"I'm here to take my people away!" The gray-dressed man picked up the discarded bullet and held it in his palm. His gray eyes rose slightly. "Will you let them go?"

"Let them go!"

The gray-clad man shouldered the black-clad figure and swaggered out of the room. The girl gave Nicholas a glance before releasing Casabri and darting out.

A new card was somehow wedged into the table, leaving behind a room riddled with bullet holes and a corpse growing cold.

Nicholas left the room without a word. The empty hallway bore no trace as if no one had ever been there, pristine and bright.

Nicholas quickly moved to the first floor, entering a room where three people were sitting, intently watching the monitors displaying surveillance from different angles.

"BOSS!" The three stood up immediately upon seeing Nicholas enter.

"Is there anything unusual?" The monitoring room functioned as usual.

"No!"

"Alright, carry on. Keep a close watch at all times." Nicholas shut the door and exited, finding the streets outside awash with the fading glow of dusk. Around Joseph 13th, it was a barren zone devoid of life, at this corner, both vehicles and pedestrians seemed to be extinct. After circling the building, he returned inside. No one dared leave the meeting room, while Augusto paced anxiously in the hall, meeting Nicholas as he returned.

"In three days, will you attend?"

"Yes!" Nicholas pulled out the half-inserted card from the table, with a crow imprinted on it.

In Palermo, the largest city in Sicily, there are places unknown to the world, where chaos reigns, and sunlight cannot penetrate the high walls.
