Chapter 1008 977: Night of Bloodshed (Part 1)

"Level Seven, if you do this, the boss will be angry." The Magician appeared beside the person with the codename Level Seven like a ghost, only to receive a cold snort in response.

At the moment the explosion echoed through the police station, a silent slaughter was slowly unfolding in the skies above Palermo. If someone happened to look up at the sky, they would find tonight's night especially red, for tonight the Moon was shrouded in a layer of red light. For those who understand the ways of star-gazing, this is a dire omen, a blood-red Moon heralding a night of bloodshed.

"Kid, this is not a place for you to fool around!" Carlo warned the person in front of him, but he had already darted over to the coat rack. "Ahhhh!" Before he could even touch his clothes, Carlo had already fallen to the ground, his left foot pinned to the floor by a strange axe, half of the axe embedded in his leg. This leg was as good as ruined!

"Move again, and it's the other hand!" The woman advanced towards Carlo with dragging steps.

"Who... who are you?"

"My boss says that for the sake of his business, you must die!" The woman yanked out the axe, and Carlo let out another cry of agony. "Remember the name Xiao Lin! Remember it!"

"What?" The woman drew a roughly thirty-centimeter-long axe from behind her. The precise dimension glinted in the silver light, and then a head rolled to the ground.

"A person can't avoid exercise forever, or they'll end up like this, without even a chance to fight back." The bloodstained axe was thrust behind her. On the bed, the woman clutched her mouth, wanting to scream but not daring, tears of fear streaming down her eyes. "Though you're pitiful and innocent, you saw me, so you must die too."

The small axe in her hand traced a beautiful arc through the air, embedding itself in the wall, along with the woman's head, pinned alongside it. The woman stepped forward with dragging feet, letting out a sigh of slight regret. She jumped onto the bed, stepping on some sticky liquid beneath her foot, making a nauseating dry heave. After wiping her foot on the sheets a few times, she placed one hand on the now-dead woman and pulled back the axe with her right hand.

"Bad luck for you; don't reincarnate as a whore in your next life!"

The Moon hung in the sky, red as if it could drip blood. Even obscured by a black cloud, its brilliance could not be dimmed, painting the sky like a waterfall of blood, a wolf's howl echoing in the distance, disturbing the horizon.

Chopin looked up at the bloodstained sky, noticing the crows were unusually restless today. Perhaps it was due to Xiao Lin's absence. He looked skyward again and slowly entered the stone house, fetching a chunk of meat from the fridge and placing it in a bowl. "You sense the night's peculiarity too, don't you? With your love for blood, how could you not notice? Hehehe!" Chopin chuckled to himself.

Under the blood-hued moonlight, a grand mansion was brightly lit, illuminating much of the night sky. Although it was late into the night, song and voice still echoed. Today was the grand ceremony of the Genovese Clan, and most of the invited guests brought lavish gifts to offer their congratulations. Yet beneath this grand event, an even more intriguing announcement was about to be made. (To be continued.
