Chapter 868 - 847 ( Confrontation - II )
Chapter 868 - 847 ( Confrontation - II )
"Wait a moment, there's still one more group to go" - Cloud said while ignoring the growing tension of the families that had gathered in the room.
Shizuku and Kaori were watching all this silently, not knowing what to do in this situation, especially when they could notice how Kouki Amanogawa's family looked like they were going to explode at any moment.
The door again was knocked, and this time it was Remia who opened it, revealing a couple in their 30s. The man had purple hair and a well-trained physique, while the woman had black hair and a beautiful appearance. They were the parents in this world of Rika, as well as Cloud's caretakers.
The duo looked carefully at the Amanogawa family with a frown before focusing their attention on Cloud, who seemed to have a complicated expression on his face.
"Sorry for the delay," said the purple-haired man. He was Eric Smith, a former American soldier who had come to Japan on vacation and ended up staying after falling in love with his wife and deciding to take her last name.
"Sorry, we were a little... excited..." - the woman said. She was Mito Minami, Rika's mother.
"No, I apologize for such an abrupt meeting" - Cloud replied as he took a long breath and looked around - "Ok, now that we're all gathered, it's time for us to talk, honestly, I recommend you minors not to listen to this,I don't want to be the one responsible for causing them trauma."
Seiji was about to say something, when he felt his wife's hand on his shoulder, which made him realize that he was letting his emotions get out of control - "I understand, Mitsuki, leave the room."
"No, I want to hear directly what happened to Nii-san!" - Mitsuki exclaimed with tears in her eyes, after all, it was impossible for her loving older brother to do something as cruel as not only killing a girl in his group, but also trying to kill the rest of his classmates.
"Mitsuki!" - Seiji Amanogawa roared as he narrowed his eyes, but his daughter didn't seem to want to give in.
"I think we'd better let him listen, Seiji-kun" - sighed Miya Amanogawa as she looked at her husband.
Seiji frowned before nodding weakly.
"Myu, can you take the kids to play in your room?" - Cloud asked as he watched Myu enter the tense room and called for the children to follow him.
Eric and Mito simply looked at Myu with a raised eyebrow, though they would talk about this later.
"Ok, I guess we can talk now" - Cloud said as he looked at the little sister of the boy who had caused him so much trouble - "You can ask all your questions, I'm going to answer her as honestly as I can."
"Did you kill my son?" - Seiji asked as he got straight to the point.
"Yes" - answered Cloud while ignoring the hostility of the Amanogawa man - "And I didn't do it for something as good as for the sake of the people in the other world, no, I did it for revenge."
A deep silence pervaded the place as the blond said these words.
"Is everything we heard about my son true?" - Miya Amanogawa asked while biting her lip - "That he betrayed his classmates and not only killed two girls, but many more people?"
"That's right" - answered Cloud while shaking his head - "Amanogawa let his obsession cloud his judgment and was slowly corrupted by the power of the mad god, in the end a cursed sword made him kill hundreds of otherworlders, and among the victims were Eri Nakamura, a girl who became a traitor also because of her obsession with Amanogawa, and Rika Minami, my companion and second leader of the heroes"
Miya began to sob as Seiji clenched his fists in fury because even though they didn't want to admit it, all the evidence pointed to the blond man telling the truth. It was impossible for her son's former classmates to lie all at once, and even if that was the case, there would be slight details that would make their accounts different, but no matter how many times they asked, all the students made the same answers or were similar with some small almost negligent details.
"You're lying, my older brother would never do something like that!" - Mitsuki exclaimed as she glared hatefully at the blond -"You're cheating on us! You're all cheating on us because you're jealous of how good Kouki was!"
"Enough, Mitsuki!" - Seiji exclaimed as he looked like he was about to explode, though this was nothing more than a response to try to calm his heart. He wanted to believe that his youngest daughter's words were true, but the more time passed, the more painful the truth became.
"If you don't believe me, I can show you physical proof that what I say is true" - Cloud replied with a frown - "I'm only saying this because I hate being called a liar."
Mitsuki tried to say something, but the words got stuck in her throat, this because she didn't want to know the truth. As long as she kept repeating this possible lie, it would remain true until the truth was revealed.
Seiji knew what was going through his daughter's mind, that's why he was stopping her, it was better that at least one of them would continue to keep the kind and loving image of his son, and not the cruel man who killed hundreds of people to fulfill his wishes.
Cloud put the sphere away because he could notice Seiji Amanogawa's pleading look.
"My daughter..." - Taiga muttered as she clenched her fist in helplessness because she had noticed the changes in her daughter, but had done nothing about it. She cursed herself for not intervening sooner, and maybe then she could have saved the life of her baby, the only family she had left after her husband's death.
"Everything the boys said is true, although if it's any consolation, it was thanks to your last words that the other heroes managed to save themselves" - Cloud answered while trying to be as tactful as possible.
Seiji gave him a grateful look, although the feeling of guilt he was feeling was greater because it was his own son who had caused this girl's demise, which made him think that maybe he should have done something as well in order to stop Kouki.
Normally, Seiji was a calm and cowardly person, but the death of his son had made him change to a more firm attitude, an attitude that had made him see the hundreds of mistakes he had made during the first years of his two children's lives, mistakes that he wasn't going to think about making a second time.
"Eri Nakamura managed to have her redemption in her last moments..." - Cloud finished as he shook his head.
Taiga started crying harder when she heard this. She was happy that at least she wouldn't be remembered as a villain, a small comfort amongst all the pain she was feeling from her baby's passing.
"Honestly, I shouldn't have called you guys, but I did because you deserved to know the truth from my perspective" - Cloud said as he looked at the two remaining families - "I'm going to get straight to the point, I killed your children."
The Hiyama and Shimizu family cringed when they heard these words, although they did not interrupt the blond boy, though this was out of fear that he would take revenge for the actions of their children.
"You don't have to worry, I don't plan to hurt you, I just want to talk to you about the truth of the events that ended with the death of your children" - Cloud answered while shaking his head - "Let's start with Hiyama, he died because of a similar situation to Amanogawa, his obsession with Kaori and his jealousy with me, made him attack me from behind and send me straight into the abyss. From a certain point, I thank him because it was thanks to this that I managed to become what I am today, as well as I was able to meet Yue, that's why not only will I not hurt them despite their lousy job as parents for raising.... a bad person like Daisuke Hiyama."
The Hiyama couple ducked their heads when they heard this because it was a hard blow for them. Yes, they had not been the best parents, although this was because they had lived all their lives in poverty, and when Daisuke was born, they decided that they would have to do a 180° turn, that's why they worked until exhaustion, leaving little time to raise their son who grew up with everything in the world, everything but the firm love of his parents to correct their actions.
Finally, Cloud laid his eyes on Yukitoshi Shimizu's family and explained to them what had happened. They simply bowed their heads as they sobbed because they knew that the situation would not have gotten out of control if they had been more attentive to their son's needs, to how he was suffering, not only at school, but also at home with the care of his siblings.
