Chapter 627: Revolt (Part 2)
Point-of-View: Jaden Xeno

"At our base states, I’m the weakest, but at full power, I’m right in the middle at third. Though, Cleo, the one in fourth place, is only marginally less powerful than me. She’s probably the most versatile of us, with the widest arsenal by a distance.
Then there’s Kai and Ariella, they’re comfortably ahead of the rest of us. Kai’s got a pretty wide arsenal too, while Ariella uses flames and this dark energy we call Negative Energy," I explained, as I adjusted my prosthetic legs a bit.
They took a bit of damage in my fall earlier. And obviously, I’m not going to be able to get maintenance done on them in this world.
I should avoid putting too much strain on them, I’ll use my telekinesis and wrap my whips around them, that should help.
"Hm...with power like that, it sounds like the five of you could easily bring about the change in this nation that we’ve been striving for. But I won’t-...and frankly, can’t...-force you to help us. So, instead, let’s make a deal. We’ll help you get to the Demon nation, and you help us overthrow the Kingdom," Proposed Mira, after taking a moment to mull it over.
"That sounds fair. But I can’t speak on behalf of the others. So, we should find them first, and then see if they’re willing to hear you out," I replied thoughtfully.
"Yes, that’s reasonable. The problem is how to go about finding them," She frowned in response.
"Eh, I’m sure it’ll work out sooner or later," I shrugged, before adding, "Alright, so, can I try Spiritual Magic now?"
"Very well, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t curious about your aptitude for it too, what with you being a summoned Hero and all. Come with me."
I followed after her as she led me through the rundown old building, a couple of the other members coming with us, probably as bodyguards.
They don’t seem suspicious of me or anything, but it’s understandable that they aren’t just going to trust me blindly, that’d be naive.
Mira led me to a room further in, opening the door and stepping inside, before walking over towards a cabinet of drawers as I entered the room.
She opened one of the drawers and took out a crystal ball, setting it down on a rickety old table next to the cabinet.
"Place your hand on this. It’ll show us your aptitude for Spiritual Magic, by indicating how many Spirits you’re capable of linking with," She explained, before watching me with a look of intrigue as I approached the table.
I reached out and touched the crystal ball, which began glowing, five spots appearing inside it. The spots began glowing one by one, all five of them shining brightly.
"So, is this a good outcome or not?"
"It’s as good as it gets, you’re capable of linking with the maximum of five Spirits, that’s incredibly rare," She replied with a smile.
Oh, sweet.
"What about that Spirit Fusion thing you mentioned? Can I use it?" I asked her.
"I’m not sure, but I have heard that Heroes are supposed to be able to use Spirit Fusion right away, without any training. Usually, it takes years of training to pull it off, but that might not be the case for you," She responded, before adding as she took five scrolls out of the cabinet, "Follow me, if you want to try summoning Spirits now."
"Heh, I don’t see any reason to wait, so yeah, let’s do this," I grinned eagerly, before following her out of the room.
She led me into another room, which was completely empty. The door looks thicker and more durable too, guess summoning Spirits must be a messy process.
"Alright, just put a drop of blood on one of the scrolls and run a bit of Mana through it to summon a Spirit," She instructed, before stepping back as I picked up one of the scrolls with a sense of anticipation.
I nicked my index finger with my Magic, before letting a drop of blood drip onto the scroll. As the blood seeped into the parchment, I ran some Mana through it, before a sudden burst of Mana erupted in front of me, a Magic circle forming on the floor.
The scroll slipped out of my grasp and floated over the circle, erupting into blue flames, the ashes falling onto the circle as it began glowing brighter and brighter.
Suddenly, the glow abruptly faded, a figure appearing before me. Huh, it kinda looks like a Slime, except that its glowing.
"Incredible, that’s a Rejuven Spirit! They’re highly coveted but very, very rare. They have no attack power, but they possess unbelievable healing capabilities," Mira informed me, a look of awe on her face.
"Amazing, I never thought I’d ever see one myself," Spoke up one of the others.
"
Woah, how is it speaking without a mouth? It has a cute voice, sounds like a little kid.
"Hi. Well, I am the one who summoned you, so I guess so. Nice to meet you," I replied with a smile.
"You need to name the Spirit to complete the link," Chimed in Mira.
"A name, huh? Alright, let me think...oh, since you’re a Healer, how about Cure?" I suggested after taking a moment to mull it over.
"
Huh?
"Hold on, you can do that?" I responded in surprise.
"
Oh, hell yeah! What a welcome surprise this turned out to be!
"Wait, what’s wrong with your legs? They seem fine to me, you aren’t limping or anything," Remarked Mira curiously.
"Oh, these aren’t real legs, they’re prosthetics. I lost my real legs a few months ago. Would you mind turning away for a bit?" I requested with a sheepish smile.
"Oh, er, yes, of course," She nodded awkwardly, before turning her back to me.
Alright, let’s do this!
