Chapter 784: For the Little Bastard in the Belly
Chapter 784: For the Little Bastard in the Belly
Considering Fu Shihan’s attitude when he approached her previously and what he handed over to her, Qi Ran felt the possibility of an argument was greater.
If it were a breakup... Well, she would just sign the document he had sent over and let him lose everything.
Su Wanxin was driving, and Qi Ran didn’t want to distract her, so she didn’t ask too much. Feeling guilty, Su Wanxin also didn’t dare to say anything proactively, so they continued quietly for several minutes.
When they got home, Su Yao soon arrived with Bai Yuwen.
Su Wanxin, sitting in the living room eating sunflower seeds, looked towards the kitchen with mixed emotions.
Everyone except her was in the kitchen.
Su Wanxin sighed deeply, hugged a pillow while leaning on the sofa, and absentmindedly watched TV, soon feeling sleepy.
She tried to stay awake, but eventually, her eyelids could not resist the force of gravity and closed.
When Qi Ran and the others finished cooking and came out to call her to eat, they found her curled up asleep on the sofa.
Su Yao walked over slowly, crouched down, gently tapped her shoulder, and softly called her.
Su Wanxin groggily opened her eyes, saw Su Yao’s face which resembled hers, was momentarily stunned, then slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes.
"Eat first, then sleep," Su Yao whispered, "Haven’t you been eating properly lately?"
"It’s okay, just a bit busy."
Someone who can’t cook has no right to criticize takeout food as bad, this much Su Wanxin was self-aware of.
Recently, she had been eating at a restaurant near her company before returning home but, due to her pregnancy, she had many dietary restrictions and mostly had been drinking porridge.
Su Wanxin felt her face was green because she had eaten too much green and pickled vegetables.
Following Su Yao to the dining room, she saw a table full of delicious food, licked her lips, and felt tempted.
It had been a long time since she had eaten something cooked by Qi Ran, and today she had to eat her fill.
Su Wanxin sat down, focused on eating, and listened to their conversation without any intention to interject.
Su Yao glanced over several times, feeling her sister looked a bit like a refugee today. She handed over a tissue and comforted, "Eat slowly, I won’t fight you for it."
Su Wanxin nodded, wiped her mouth with the tissue, and then took a sip of water.
The cool water flowed down her throat, and the moment she swallowed, Su Wanxin felt discomfort in her stomach. A wave of nausea quickly followed.
Without thinking, her body reflexively stood up and ran towards the restroom.
She moved quickly, causing the other three, taken aback, to quickly drop their chopsticks and follow her.
In the restroom, Su Wanxin crouched beside the toilet and vomited out all the good food she had just eaten, feeling dizzy and terribly uncomfortable.
Hearing the footsteps of Qi Ran and the others, her face turned even paler.
Qi Ran brought a bottle of water for her to rinse her mouth, and after she had somewhat recovered, suggested, "Should we go to the hospital?"
"No need!" Su Wanxin shook her head repeatedly. "Stomach flu, I’ll just take some medicine in a bit."
She had had a cold for the past few days that hadn’t improved, and her voice was still nasal, so Qi Ran did not suspect anything. He touched her forehead; it wasn’t hot.
After vomiting, Su Wanxin had no appetite and sat on the chair, anxious and uneasy.
A single lie needs countless other lies to cover it up. For the sake of the little bastard in her belly, how many more lies would she have to tell?
