Chapter 741: Despair, Collapse.
Chapter 741: Despair, Collapse.
She didn’t know how long she had stood, just that her body was thoroughly cold, and she hadn’t realized it.
The phone rang again, forcing Su Wanxin back from her deep thoughts to reality, she looked down to pick up the phone, it was from Lu Ci.
She wanted to reject the call, but hesitated for a moment before deciding to answer.
"Wanwan, I’m already at the hospital, when will you get here?"
"I’m not coming." Su Wanxin answered softly, a sneer on her lips. "I drank a bit too much tonight, I don’t want to go out."
Lu Ci: "..."
Lu Ci: "Are you serious?"
"What’s there to be serious or not? I’m not a doctor, even if I went, I couldn’t save him. Besides, he has so many people by his side, he won’t miss one less."
Su Wanxin’s tone was cold, causing Lu Ci to frown deeply.
"Those who shouldn’t die won’t, and for those who should, nobody can save them."
She’s not his talisman, nor does she have the ability to protect him completely, why bother joining the crowd.
Su Wanxin hugged her arms with one hand, belatedly realizing how truly cold it was. It was already past the New Year, why was it still so cold.
"Stop calling me, I’m going to sleep."
Su Wanxin said, and hung up the phone. Then, with a self-mocking laugh, she walked towards the parking lot.
Her pace was slow, intentionally avoiding the reporters in front of the Hospital Building.
In the vast parking lot, she couldn’t quite remember where she had parked her car earlier, so she had to search row by row. In the process, she unexpectedly ran into someone she shouldn’t have.
In the black curtain of the night, Su Wanxin looked at the woman in the distance, her heart plummeting to the depths.
She had seen this woman once before recently, downstairs at Fu Shihan’s company, beside Fu Shihan.
Presently, the woman’s head was bandaged, and if she wasn’t mistaken, she might have been on the same flight back with Fu Shihan.
As Su Wanxin saw her, she saw Su Wanxin too.
They looked at each other from afar, expressions diverse.
Su Wanxin stared at her unwaveringly, watching as her eyes slightly widened, then she turned away as if she hadn’t seen Su Wanxin at all and quickly walked away.
Su Wanxin’s gaze continually followed her, feeling extremely uncomfortable looking at her, just like the last time.
Compared to last time, however, her reaction was even more intense.
Sharp pains spread from the bottom of her heart, so painful that she struggled to breathe.
She breathed deeply, firmly patting her chest twice. In the moment she lowered her head, everything went black for an instant, and she almost fainted.
Su Wanxin clumsily supported herself against a nearby car, her forehead resting on the car door, her eyes bloodshot, fists clenched.
In her mind, some memories flickered in and out, too quickly for her to grasp.
Her head ached, she repeatedly knocked her forehead against the car door, quickly reddening her forehead.
The dark night seemed like a gigantic monster, trying to swallow her bit by bit.
Fear unknowingly took root, and by the time she noticed, it had already enveloped her entire body.
Su Wanxin trembled as she lifted her head, the dim lights of the parking lot unable to illuminate every corner. She looked around in a panic, seeing nothing but always feeling something by her side.
"Ah!!!!"
She collapsed to the ground in despair, crying out loud. Her head buried in her knees, she wept uncontrollably.
Fu Shihan...
Fu Shihan...
She repeated his name over and over in her heart, her entire being in intense pain, a pain that made life intolerable.
She sat disheveled on the ground, crying, shouting, and as time passed, the confused thread in her mind finally grasped the source...
