Chapter 718: I really want to know who broke Li Mo’s leg, and give them some money to show my gratitude.

Chen Lei nodded thoughtfully without suspicion. Her workload is overwhelming, yet she never allows herself to relax. So young, yet she puts so much pressure on herself, which worries him.

Chen Lei, leveraging his height, glanced at Su Wanxin’s head—fortunately, she still had plenty of hair.

"Brother Lei, have you met Shihan’s family members?" Su Wanxin lit a cigarette, took a couple of puffs, and suddenly asked.

Chen Lei was taken aback and nodded, "I have met them, all tough characters. What made you think of asking this?"

"It’s nothing, just suddenly thought of his mother."

"Ah, President Li."

Speaking of Li Mo, Chen Lei’s expression became somewhat complexly sympathetic. He sighed and said,

"It’s unpredictable how life turns out. When the news of her accident came out, we all couldn’t believe it."

Su Wanxin: "Then how did you end up believing it?"

"Seeing is believing. She hadn’t been seen for months, then appeared in a wheelchair, confirming the rumors. You wouldn’t believe how some were taking pleasure in her misfortune."

Chen Lei, recalling those people’s faces, couldn’t help but get angry.

"What did they say?" Su Wanxin asked, frowning.

"They really wanted to know who broke Li Mo’s legs, to offer a monetary thank-you."

Su Wanxin: "..."

"There’s no way around it, the Fu Family has too many enemies, and Li Mo was too formidable. If she hadn’t had the accident, she would probably still be working for the Fu Family.

You give off a similar vibe to her, a strong woman, a workaholic, who can skip meals and sleep but never work."

Su Wanxin lowered her eyelids, extinguished her half-smoked cigarette, and turned away.

She had suppressed her feelings all day until after 4 PM when Shihan pushed open the door of her office and appeared before her.

"Why are you here?" Su Wanxin was surprised to see him. "Weren’t you on a business trip, not coming back today?"

"Shi Li called me, said you’re going back to Fu Residence for dinner tonight?"

"Yes..."

Shihan: "So tell me, why do you think I came back?"

Shihan tiredly sat on the sofa, pressing his brow.

He had been up since 4 AM for the airport, traveled to four cities in one day, and if it wasn’t for Shi Li’s call, he’d probably be in his fifth city, just off the plane.

Shihan looked at Su Wanxin, meeting her eyes, "Didn’t see you for two days, and you’ve become so bold, daring to go back alone for a meal?"

Su Wanxin silently lowered her head. Knowing she was afraid, Shihan hurried back.

Though he didn’t know exactly how Shi Yi had persuaded her to agree to go home, it was still something that made Shihan happy to think about.

But with the old man still at home and not gone back, Shihan was a bit worried. What if he made things difficult for her? What if she was bullied into crying?

So, after receiving Shi Li’s call, he immediately booked a flight back.

"You continue with your work, call me when you’re done, and we’ll go home together."

Shihan leaned back, supporting his forehead with one hand, elbow on the sofa’s armrest, and closed his eyes, clearly very tired.

Noticing this, Su Wanxin didn’t say anything more but focused on finishing her work as quickly as possible.

At five, Su Wanxin and Shihan left the company, got into his car, and drove towards Fu Residence.

In her remaining memories, this was Su Wanxin’s first time going to that place.

She sat in the passenger seat, her hands clenched into fists, tenseness showing from head to toe. Shihan glanced at her a few times and couldn’t help but smile.
