Chapter 714 You are cheating me
Chapter 714 You are cheating me
Su Yao didn’t know what Lu Ci was scheming in his heart, she just felt that his smile was not serious, teasing her like a hooligan.
Su Yao: "I think you’re really shameless."
Lu Ci: "It’s alright, think about Fu Shihan, don’t you think I seem much better in comparison?"
Sometimes comparison is feared, because once you compare, it becomes clear who’s better and who’s worse.
Following his words, Su Yao thought about it and felt that there was indeed some truth to it. But then she thought again, wasn’t that wrong?
Couldn’t she compare him to good people?
Comparing him with Fu Shihan, how low has he set his own bar?!
Thinking this way, Su Yao felt that he wasn’t any good either, just like that Fu Shihan, cut from the same cloth.
"Don’t you know how much I hate Fu Shihan? Comparing yourself with him, you really lack a survival desire," Su Yao scoffed.
"That’s your prejudice. Nowadays, men like us who are rich and faithful are hard to find."
"Faithful?" Su Yao’s look at him changed. "Has President Lu forgotten about the ex-girlfriend who came to see you today?"
Lu Ci: "..."
Lifting a rock only to drop it on one’s own feet, so he really shouldn’t have gone to those matchmaking sessions.
If having dinner means an ex-girlfriend, then clearly he has quite a few ex-girlfriends.
A miscalculation.
Seeing him lost for words, Su Yao felt a thrill of triumph and walked towards the roadside.
"What are you doing?" Lu Ci followed and asked.
"Taking a taxi, going back to the law firm."
"I’ll take you."
"It’s not on the way."
"It is."
Lu Ci pulled her into the car and drove in the completely opposite direction from his company to drop her off, then turned the car to head back.
Su Yao spent several hours busy at the law firm and when it was almost time to leave work, she hurried home.
She was anxious, wanting to get home and talk to Su Wanxin.
She thought about the phone call Su Wanxin received that afternoon and the more she thought about it, the more it felt amiss.
Moreover, for over a year, Su Wanxin and she had shared everything, never kept secrets. Suddenly hiding things without telling her made her feel uncomfortable.
When Su Wanxin got home, Su Yao had already prepared dinner and was sitting on a chair, anxiously shaking her leg, waiting for her return.
Seeing her several times start to speak but then stop, Su Wanxin could roughly guess what she wanted to ask. She lowered her head and smiled, sighing.
"Baby." Finally, Su Yao couldn’t help but speak. "Who was that person who called you this afternoon? What did he want from you?"
"I won’t tell you." Su Wanxin replied indifferently, causing Su Yao to frown. "Why should I tell you?"
Su Yao: "!!!"
Su Yao felt a sinking feeling, her face reddening.
She was so angry! Her sister didn’t love her anymore! What to do! Waiting online!
Su Wanxin glanced at her reaction and continued to leisurely eat, saying, "You also have secrets you don’t tell me, so I won’t tell you either."
"When have I ever?!" Su Yao denied loudly: "I haven’t!"
"Really?" Su Wanxin didn’t believe it. "You dare say you don’t have any feelings for Lu Ci?"
Su Yao: "..."
"See, you’re lying to me." Su Wanxin looked at her slightly stunned expression and smiled. "So I won’t tell you either, hmph."
Angry, Su Yao pursed her lips, clenched her teeth, and stopped talking to her.
The meal was finished in this strange atmosphere. Su Yao slammed her chopsticks down and went to watch television, while Su Wanxin wasn’t in a hurry; she threw the dishes into the dishwasher, tidied up the kitchen, and then went upstairs to the study.
Then, less than half an hour later, there was a gentle knock on the door and Su Yao’s voice came from outside.
"Do you want some fruit?"
