Chapter 699: The Woman by His Side
Chapter 699: The Woman by His Side
Su Wanxin spent yesterday thinking about those two women when she had free time, proposing some possibilities, but now she still needed verification.
She managed to find some time to step out, wishing to meet with those two people. Upon arrival, she learned that they had already been taken away by someone yesterday.
Reflecting on the timeline, Su Wanxin felt it must have been Fu Shihan’s doing. Hesitantly, she drove to Fu Group, intending to confront him in person.
After driving for dozens of minutes, she reached her destination. Su Wanxin parked and turned off the car. Just as she was unbuckling her seatbelt but before she could exit, she saw a familiar figure walking out of the building.
Wearing a dark blue coat over a neatly tailored black suit, his face void of any smile.
His steps were fast, as if he was in a hurry to go somewhere. A woman, probably his secretary, was following him. Su Wanxin glanced over casually, then furrowed her brows.
In that brief moment of recognizing the woman’s face, Su Wanxin felt extremely uncomfortable.
An unexpected surge of pain took some time to subside. By then, Fu Shihan had already gotten into his car and left.
The trip was futile and she had only succeeded in agitating herself. Su Wanxin drove back to her office in a huff, even skipping lunch.
In the evening after work, she walked with her colleagues towards the parking lot. Just as they exited the company’s main entrance, her steps involuntarily halted.
At the roadside not too far away, a black motorcycle was parked. The man seated on it was Mu Xinghan, whom she had met not long ago.
Su Wanxin’s gaze darkened, then she heard a colleague beside her let out a low "Ah."
Su Wanxin, puzzled, followed her colleague’s gaze to Mu Xinghan.
"Do you know him?"
"Isn’t he President Su’s good friend?" The woman asked back incredulously. "I’ve seen him several times, and he left quite an impression."
After all, the man was handsome and rode a cool motorcycle, making him hard to forget.
Moreover, for a while, the company gossip was that he was Su Wanxin’s boyfriend, a topic everyone enjoyed discussing for some time.
Su Wanxin: "..."
Good friend? Was that the impression she and Mu Xinghan had left on people?
Hearing her say that, Su Wanxin’s deep gaze returned to Mu Xinghan.
It was clear he was waiting for her, a lollipop in his mouth, he sat there looking roguish, smiling at her, spontaneously reminding Su Wanxin of his words from that day.
He said he had almost lost his life for her.
He said he liked her.
Su Wanxin had yet to receive a reply to the message she sent to Mu Suyu, so there was a lot she still couldn’t figure out.
Now that he had come to her, she might as well ask him first, and then check his story with Mu Suyu later to see if he was lying.
Thus, Su Wanxin stepped toward him. Approaching him, she saw him handing her his helmet, she refused.
"I’m not riding," Su Wanxin said coldly. "If you have something to say, say it here."
"My lady, do you know how cold it is today?" Mu Xinghan looked at her. "Twenty degrees below zero, you want to chat with me here?"
Having said that, he glanced back at the office building behind her.
"Besides, with so many people around here, are you sure you won’t be misunderstood?"
His words made Su Wanxin waver. Indeed, she did not want to be misunderstood by others, so after thinking it over, she said, "Let’s talk in my car."
Her car was parked nearby. After getting in and turning on the heat, Su Wanxin showed no intention of leaving. She looked at the man beside her and asked, "What did you want to see me for?"
