Chapter 617 They All Saw It
Chapter 617 They All Saw It
"Fu Shihan, what’s wrong with you?" Su Wanxin looked at his eyes and felt something was off about him, somewhat worried. "Did you just hit something?"
"No worries, it’s just that you scared me."
Fu Shihan ruffled her hair and looked over her shoulder, his gaze meeting squarely with that of someone not far away.
"Aunt Qi and the others have come down."
Su Wanxin followed his gaze and tensed up, reflexively stepping to the side to put some distance between them.
Fu Shihan cleared his throat in a quiet show of his discontent. Su Wanxin gave him a glance, said quietly, "I’ll go ahead," and then walked toward Qi Ran and Su Yao.
Fu Shihan let out a helpless, wry smile and followed her to greet them.
If they hadn’t met, it would have been fine, but now that they were caught red-handed, could they really just turn around and leave?
"Mom." Su Wanxin approached Qi Ran, not sure when they had come down.
The car accident caused quite a commotion, leaving the scene in chaos. Luckily, the nearby police station had dispatched officers quickly, stabilizing the scene for the moment.
There were quite a few injured, and the cries of shock and pain that carried from a distance were unsettling to hear.
"Aunt Qi." Fu Shihan approached as well, rather calmly. "Long time no see."
Qi Ran glanced at him, her brows deeply furrowed as she scrutinized Su Wanxin from head to toe. Once certain that Su Wanxin had only suffered minor external injuries, she simply said, "Let’s go home."
Su Yao supported Su Wanxin, hesitated while looking at Fu Shihan with a complex expression, then left.
Fu Shihan watched them leave before he could finally breathe a sigh of relief, patting his somewhat painful head, trying to recall the memories that had flashed through his mind just a moment ago.
...
Su Wanxin and Qi Ran returned home, where Qi Ran treated her wounds before finally inquiring about Fu Shihan.
"Why did he come?"
Su Wanxin hesitated for a moment and begrudgingly lied: "He missed Yangyang. I delivered Yangyang to him, and he just happened to give me a ride to your law firm."
Qi Ran didn’t pursue the question further, got up to go to her room to change clothes, and Su Wanxin turned to look at Su Yao, asking with a look of indescribable emotion, "When did you and mom leave?"
Su Yao was silent for a moment, really wanting to tell her they had just come downstairs. But the truth was, they had witnessed the whole event.
The accident happened too suddenly, catching everyone off guard.
They saw her standing next to the bus stop with Fu Shihan. They intended to go over and take her away, but just a few steps in, the accident happened.
At that moment, Su Yao’s mind went blank, and Qi Ran was uncharacteristically panicked.
They called out Su Wanxin’s name, but the scene was too chaotic with too many people screaming loudly, so she didn’t hear them.
"Wanwan."
"Yeah?"
"Are you stupid?"
"..."
Confused by the sudden scolding, Su Wanxin looked at Su Yao puzzled and heard her ask, "Why push him away and run by yourself? What was that about?"
Su Yao felt complicated; she knew Qi Ran must be feeling worse than she did.
Su Wanxin thought about the incident and stretched her lips into a forced smile: "No, you must have seen wrong."
"Just pretend you did," Su Yao had no way to deal with her, helping her up to return to her room to change. "Rest for now, I’ll call you when it’s time to eat."
The world returned to silence, and Su Wanxin lay on the bed, still feeling anxious and unable to calm down.
