Her voice hadn’t fully recovered, with a hoarseness as though her vocal cords were torn, a sound that made the maid next to her feel a twinge of sympathy.
The man had already taken a step but paused, casting a sidelong glance in her direction with the corner of his eye, looking at her indifferently without saying anything.
With slow steps, his figure gradually disappeared down the corridor.
Summer Sutton sat down at the dining table, burying her head to continue eating her meal.
"Miss, drink more water! Don’t choke! Take good care of your voice, don’t let it not recover!" The maid poured her several glasses of water in succession, reminding her.
"Thank you." Summer Sutton responded to her softly.
"Later I’ll have the doctor come by to check on your throat." The maid smiled slightly, cutting a piece of meat for her and placing it on her plate.
The maids on this yacht, though talkative, were genuinely kind to Summer Sutton. Summer even found this group quite endearing.
After she filled her stomach, the maid led her back to the room.
"I’m called Jasmine, if Miss needs anything in the future, you can call me with the bell."
"This is Serena, during your stay on the yacht, we will mostly be responsible for taking care of you." Jasmine introduced herself and the maid beside her.
"By the way, Miss, what should we call you?" After the introductions, Jasmine asked casually.
Summer Sutton didn’t know the identities of these people on the boat. She thought for a moment, left a mental note, and didn’t give her real name, "Just call me Little Sutton."
"Little Sutton, that’s a pretty name, as beautiful as the person." Serena praised her.
Summer Sutton just smiled faintly.
"If there’s nothing else, we’ll be leaving now, Miss Little Sutton, you should get some rest." The two maids closed her room door and prepared to leave, but were suddenly stopped by Summer Sutton, "Wait!"
Serena and Jasmine were taken aback, and pushed open the closed door again.
"Miss Little Sutton, anything else?"
Summer Sutton stared at the two of them, somewhat anxious, "Could you give me a phone?"
She didn’t even know how many days she’d been missing, or where she was now.
The night she disappeared, she had called Adrian Walyon and said she would be home soon.
Unable to return on time, Adrian must be frantically looking for her by now, right?
She had to get in contact with him!
Summer Sutton thought that just a mobile phone, on such a luxurious yacht, should be a very small request, and the maid should be able to arrange it for her quickly.
But who knew, after hearing her words, the two seemed a bit troubled.
"This..." Jasmine and Serena looked at each other, and "this’d" for a while but couldn’t come up with a follow-up.
Summer Sutton observed the two maids calmly, thought for a moment, and suddenly realized.
"Are you afraid that if I have a phone, I’ll leak information about this ship?"
The two maids hadn’t expected her to react so quickly, guessing it right on the first try, and were momentarily stunned.
"Your master has many secrets that can’t be leaked?" Summer Sutton followed up.
This time, Jasmine and Serena were asked so directly that they bit their lips tightly, not speaking.
Summer Sutton suspiciously eyed the two maids for a while, took a deep breath, and let the matter drop.
Forget it, the maids were clearly acting under the master’s orders, forcing them wouldn’t help.
Summer Sutton was a smart person, she would never ask about something others were unwilling to mention.
Asking too much often only brought more trouble for herself.
