Chapter 541: Chapter 541: Looking for Him in the Middle of the Night
When Summer Sutton initially took Ariella Sawyer back, Ariella’s fever wasn’t too serious, just over 38 degrees.
However, after returning, somehow, the temperature started rising.
At its worst, it shot up to 41 degrees.
Summer tried to bring her temperature down physically, to no avail, and drove out in the middle of the night to buy her fever-reducing medicine.
After she took the medicine, the temperature came down for a while.
But she was still feverish.
Ariella’s parents were in other cities, and now with such a high fever, Ariella was completely unconscious. Summer wanted to inform someone to come and look after her, but it was impossible.
Summer could only stay by herself and watch over her the whole night.
Past three in the morning, Summer measured Ariella’s temperature and, seeing the consistently high fever, realized that if they didn’t get to a hospital, the consequences could be dire. Summer put a coat on her and supported her as they walked out of the suite.
Ariella’s consciousness was blurred. After a few steps, she fell.
She seemed unable even to walk, but Summer, being a girl, had limited strength.
She couldn’t carry Ariella on her back.
Summer squatted on the ground, looking at the already flushed Ariella, not knowing what to do.
Who could she call for help in the middle of the night?
The manager?
Everyone was probably asleep, and Sister Chapman seemingly had a habit of turning off her phone when sleeping.
Others from the studio?
Summer pulled out her phone numbers and dialed several consecutive calls.
However, probably because they were deeply asleep, she couldn’t reach anyone.
With no other choice, Summer called Adrian Walyon.
Adrian hadn’t slept yet, standing in Morning Garden’s bedroom, holding his phone, waiting for her call.
He had said he hoped to see her when he returned, yet Summer was nowhere to be seen.
Adrian was waiting for her explanation.
When the phone rang, seeing her name on the caller ID, he picked it up expressionlessly.
"Adrian, I’m at Ariella’s, something’s come up, come over quickly!" Summer’s voice came from the other end of the call. Without explaining further, she hung up.
Originally quite annoyed with her, upon receiving her call, Adrian assumed something had happened to her, and the anger he had accumulated over the night dissipated. He grabbed his keys and left, speeding away from Morning Garden.
By the time he arrived at Ariella’s place, it was almost four.
Summer opened the door for him.
"What happened?" Adrian, outside the door, seemingly ran up the stairs, had sweat on his forehead despite the cold winter.
His eyes scanned Summer up and down, examining her, and when he found no injuries, his face immediately tensed.
"Ariella has a fever. I can’t move her by myself!" Summer pointed to Ariella behind her.
"It wasn’t you, couldn’t you explain over the phone?" Adrian had assumed something had happened to Summer when she called, and as he drove over, he was filled with tension.
He shouted at her, tugging at his tie in frustration.
His yelling was so fierce that Summer was stunned.
She stared at him dazedly for a while, had no time to think much, and turned to support Ariella, "Adrian, help me!"
Adrian just stood there, unmoving, but made a call to summon his assistant.
Obviously, he had no intention of touching any woman other than Summer, not even to help.
When the assistant arrived, the three of them took Ariella to the hospital together.
