Chapter 1097: Tonight, He Takes Charge
Chapter 1097: Tonight, He Takes Charge
Summer Sutton didn’t hesitate much and bent down to get into his car.
"Where do you live?" Manuel Ink asked after starting the car.
Summer Sutton gave the address of Morning Garden.
Manuel didn’t say much and slowly drove towards the address she provided.
Summer sat in the back, watching him intently.
Thinking about all the treatment she received at the company, she tentatively asked, "Did you know early on that I was working at Royal Delight?"
The answer to this question was obvious.
Not to mention that if Manuel Ink wanted to investigate someone, he could understand everything about them with just a word.
Royal Delight recruits a new producer only every two years, and Summer Sutton was one of the two who hadn’t been eliminated yet. If Manuel paid even a little attention to the company, he would know about her.
He didn’t speak, but Summer understood everything.
"Thank you, for a lot of things." Summer genuinely expressed her gratitude.
"No, it’s got nothing to do with me. This is the treatment your own ability deserves." Manuel casually threw back at her.
Summer Sutton just smiled lightly at his words.
She knew he said this just to not give her any psychological burden.
In reality, Summer was very clear in her heart.
For someone to develop smoothly, ability is important, but having someone give you an opportunity is often more crucial than ability.
The car continued to drive on the road, and afterwards, it was relatively quiet inside.
After dropping Summer Sutton off at Morning Garden, Manuel Ink didn’t linger, driving away immediately.
Summer turned around, ready to enter the house, but froze upon seeing the figure at the door.
Watt Bennet, not sure when he arrived, was standing at the doorway, staring at her.
He had clearly seen everything just now, and his face was dark and stormy.
Summer Sutton didn’t expect him to return here today. She stared at him blankly for quite a while before snapping out of it.
"Why are you here?"
She thought that, given his recent coldness towards her and his reluctance to acknowledge his identity as Adrian Walyon, he wouldn’t appear at Morning Garden unless something special happened.
Watt didn’t respond to her; his eyes were still fixed intensely on her face.
The chill on his face was heavy, and his gaze was as cold as a sharp dagger.
"Did you have dinner with him tonight?" he asked in a gloomy tone.
Summer Sutton remained silent and said nothing.
Watt took a deep breath, suddenly letting out a cold laugh.
Summer Sutton dreaded seeing this kind of smile from him; every time she saw it, it gave her a bad feeling.
"It was with a colleague," Summer threw back a sentence and brushed past him to enter the house.
After going inside, she ignored Watt.
She played with Unity for a while, then went upstairs on her own, took a shower, brushed her teeth, washed her face, and after coming out of the bathroom, wandered back and forth on her slender, fair legs, tidying up the room.
Watt stood at the door, his gaze lingering on her for quite some time.
Watching her walk back and forth in front of him, when Summer bent down to tidy up the bed, he suddenly and slowly walked toward her.
Summer quickly finished making the bed and was about to go to bed, but Watt’s body suddenly pressed up from behind.
He was standing.
His leg injury hadn’t fully healed, but when it came to this matter, he was very insistent.
This was Adrian Walyon’s macho pride; in matters between husband and wife, he had to be the dominant one at all times!
The burning body behind her made Summer freeze for a few seconds.
Summer’s mind buzzed, momentarily unable to understand why he had suddenly done this.
