Chapter 1096: In Front of Me, You Don’t Need to Be Reserved

When she went in, the room was filled with executives from Royal Delight, including Manuel Ink, whose true face had never been seen in public.

Summer Sutton glanced at him, and when their eyes met, she considered their current superior-subordinate relationship, lowered her face, and respectfully called out, "Mr. Ink!"

Manuel Ink simply responded with a faint "Mm," without saying anything else.

"Miss Sutton, please have a seat!" The man who had invited Summer Sutton up beckoned her.

"Thank you, Vice President!" Summer Sutton thanked him politely, feeling so tense she didn’t know where to sit.

Everyone present held a position much higher than hers.

They were people of stature that she normally couldn’t encounter, so it seemed inappropriate for her to sit next to anyone.

Just as she was unsure of where to sit, the man gestured to the seat next to Manuel Ink, "Sit here! Miss Sawyer as well!"

With her face lowered, Summer Sutton nodded woodenly and stiffly moved over to sit next to Manuel Ink.

With so many people around, Summer Sutton didn’t dare to be presumptuous, nor did she dare to speak to him casually as she used to, or use the nickname she had given him.

She felt extremely constrained the whole time, and once seated, she kept her head down, focusing on her food.

The only thing that made her slightly more comfortable was that Manuel Ink didn’t act too familiar with her, letting everyone know they were already acquainted.

Summer Sutton only wished to stay at Royal Delight by her own merits and didn’t want to rely on any personal connections.

Manuel Ink’s current approach fit her preference perfectly.

At the table, the others ate, drank, and talked as they liked, while Summer Sutton and Ariella Sawyer, who had come in with her, didn’t dare utter a word.

By the time dinner ended, it was ten, a bit late.

After finishing her meal, Summer Sutton bid farewell to several executives, and pulling Ariella Sawyer along, kept her head down as they walked out.

"By the way, why were we invited up for dinner today?" Ariella Sawyer followed behind passively, seeming perplexed by the Vice President’s actions today.

"Maybe they thought we have enough potential?" Summer Sutton replied evasively.

"Really?" Ariella Sawyer looked skeptical.

"But then again, even with potential, if we made it big one day, at most we’d reach the level of Lorraine Hughes and Rain Carter. Yet they’ve never been invited up here." Ariella pondered and added.

Summer Sutton, "..."

Summer Sutton was dumbfounded for a moment and pulled Ariella, "Let’s hurry up and leave. Maybe the company leadership is just easy-going? And it’s not like we had a place to sit, right?"

Ariella Sawyer felt, aside from that explanation, there wasn’t much else to believe.

She believed Summer Sutton’s words.

Ariella Sawyer still had to go back to the studio to pick up something, so she left first with her car after coming out.

Summer Sutton came with Rain Carter today, and walked to the bus stop, waiting for a bus. After a while, with no bus in sight, she was contemplating whether to call Marshall Quinn when a Rolls-Royce that happened to pass by suddenly stopped in front of her.

The car window lowered, revealing Manuel Ink’s face.

Summer Sutton turned her gaze towards him, somewhat surprised, "Mr. Ink..."

"I prefer it when you call me like you used to," Manuel Ink studied her subtly, as if observing changes in her over the past days.

Summer Sutton was stunned for a while, then awkwardly called him, "Sun."

"Get in," Manuel Ink gestured to the backseat.

With Manuel, Summer Sutton didn’t need to have any reservations.

Everything she would worry about wouldn’t happen with this man.
