Chapter 122: Complete Picture

Chapter 122: Complete Picture

Everyone was present in the Resonance room with evidence spread across every surface.

"Okay," Sirin said while organizing papers. "We have a contradiction. The disaster records mention the Void Sovereign being sealed, but Yor’s parents talk about a training ground created by the First Void Sigil wielder. How do these connect?"

She looked at Yor. "Which came first?"

Yor took a deep breath and moved to the center of the room. "My parents explained everything. The training ground came first–"

"So wait, the mountain was really created by the First Void User?" Alice asked in surprise."

"Yes, it was created over a hundred years ago as a sacred place where Void users could master their power safely." Yor said lightly.

Louis’ eyes widened. "Wait... If it’s a sacred training place at first-"

"Then that would be another reason why Void Sigil users would visit there." Rika finished as she played with her fingers.

Yor nodded before pointing to the disaster documentation. "Then, decades later, the Hunter Council realized they needed to seal the Void Sovereign. They chose Silent Peak specifically because it was already the strongest concentration of void energy on the continent. The training ground’s location became the anchor point for the seal."

They’d built a prison on top of a sanctuary. No wonder everything went wrong.

Yor pulled out the photograph of the symbol from the Noctyne basement. "This is the First Void Sigil wielder’s mark. My parents recognized it immediately. He carved it everywhere at Silent Peak—showing it belonged to Void users."

"So the Hunter Council used the training ground as the foundation for their seal?" Louis asked while scribbling notes.

"Exactly." Yor nodded. "They gathered magical energy from Hunters across the entire continent. Used all that power to create the seal at the peak, anchoring it to the existing void concentration. The lower slopes remained accessible as training grounds, but the peak itself became the prison."

Alice crossed her arms. "And that worked for how long?"

"About two hundred years," Yor said quietly. "Void users continued using the lower training areas safely before venturing towards the peak."

That was a surprise, but it does make sense.

"The training grounds are still there?" Alice asked.

"That’s what they told me. The lower slopes remain accessible to Void users. It’s only when you try to climb higher toward the actual seal that things become dangerous." Yor’s expression grew intent. "That’s when non-Void users have their emotions stolen instantly, and you run into Void Distortions."

"So the peak is still dangerous." Louis sighed.

"True, but at least this provides more evidence. That Silent Peak was meant for Void Sigil users like Yor." Reinhard said with a grin. "In fact, with this, we can convince the headmaster that Yor’s going will allow her to further improve her control."

"That’s true, and we can even spin it further. By saying going might help Yor with her breakthrough to Adept Hunter." Sirin says with a grin.

Reinhard chuckled, but from what he does recall. One did need their Sigil and magic working together to shatter the magical container inside their body to ascend to the next level. He plans to do that once his stats reach the peak.

He wasn’t worried about failing since he grasped that all of his Sigil was perfect.

Yor pulled herself together and reached for another document. "But my parents also told me something important. Another reason why this matters."

She unfolded an old paper carefully. "This is a transcript of an ancient account passed down through our family. It describes what reaching the peak was supposed to accomplish before the seal was created."

Everyone leaned in and listened as Yor continued speaking.

"’Those who reach the peak with pure intent will be granted the method to fully master the void. To become true masters rather than mere wielders. And even the path to fully reach the level of a Lord.’"

Everyone fell silent before their eyes widened in shock.

"T-This can really help Yor reach the level of a Lord?" Alice said in disbelief.

"I-I don’t think it means literally. But more so if I have the talent, then it’s possible." Yor pointed out with a faint smile.

"That makes sense. I’m guessing for the higher ranks, such as Ascendant and Lord, you need deep control over your Sigil?" Reinhard asked.

"Absolutly... It’s enough to the point your Sigil becomes no different than your second heart or whatever that means." Sirin says lightly.

Reinhard chuckled, but he recalled how the area around Victoria warped and twisted just from her anger. He couldn’t help but wonder if that means at the Ascendant level, one Sigil reacts to their emotional state and warps the area.

Regardless, it seemed everything traced back to that mountain. Every answer they needed waited at a peak that killed everyone who reached it. And it seemed like a perfect answer for a plot hole in his story.

Reinhard stood slowly as pieces fell into place in his mind. "My mother’s sealing technique likely came from Silent Peak. From the ancient knowledge about void mastery that used to be taught there."

"What? Is that for real!" All of them shouted in surprise.

"Yeah. In one of her notes, the Silent Peak was mentioned, but I was confused about why..." Reinhard crossed his arms. "But now with all of this information, it makes sense."

"Well... Considering all we have learned, I can see what you mean." Louis said as he scratched his cheeks.

"But this is amazing. I would never expect your family to also have connections to that place." Rika said in wonder.

Yor nodded and said. "But that does explain the sealing method... I wonder if it came from the First Void user."

"Possibly, I could see him leaving it on the mountain, but it is being separated somehow." Reinhard held his chin. "Still, there’s something else I have been thinking."

Everyone turned to him.

"There might be a possibility that all the Void Distortions come from the Void Sovereign... If this is true, then going to the peak might reveal where Void Distortions take people who get trapped in them."

Sirin’s eyes widened with shock and desperate hope. "You mean—"

"We can really find your sister," Reinhard said gently. "It’s like I said before, if we reach the peak and can communicate with the Sovereign, we might learn where she went. Might even find a way to bring her back."

Sirin trembled before looking down in a daze. The others smiled at her; they also found out about her sister after Yor’s return. And all of them were supportive of trying to help her as well.

Alice clenched her fist with a grin, and her green eyes shone. "It seems we have two reasons to go. Help Yor master her power and possibly rescue people lost to distortions."

"No, it’s three reasons," Rika added with a smile. "To stop the Void Distortions once and for all."

A big grin appeared on Louis’ face. "Each of these is very important... Which means–"

"Issac will have to approve of us." Reinhard finished with a smile.

All of them trembled before cheering.

"Let’s compile everything," Sirin said after recovering with a smile. "Tomorrow we will present it to the Headmaster."

Alice giggled before placing a hand on the table and saying. "That means the only way forward is to Silent Peak... if you wish to back out, now it’s time~."

"As if anyone would back out." Louis said with a chuckle before placing his hand over hers. "Right, guys?"

"Of course," Reinhard said with a chuckle, and he placed his hand.

Sirin placed her hand over his. "Together?"

Yor added her hand to the pile. "Together."

Rika giggled and placed her hands. "Of course."

Reinhard smiles, glancing at everyone’s determined expression. Even when the mission is to explore an impossible mountain, all of them are still willing to go through it. He was impressed by all of them, and that was saying a lot since he had seen a lot.

Tomorrow will just be the start of everything.

Not the end.
