Chapter 633: Another Universal Summons

Chapter 633: Another Universal Summons

After everyone who had been ordered to leave had left, every access point to the senate chamber was sealed, and any live feeds from the chamber were cut off before the Supreme Speaker spoke again, asking.

“When you say the Black Knight, are you referring to the same Black Knight that saved the Phoenix race during the Siege of Fenix Nest?”

“Indeed, Supreme Speaker,” Vu replied.

“The same Black Knight that can apparently travel through time?” the Aegir Galaxy Senator asked suspiciously.

“That’s correct, Aegir Galaxy Senator,” Vu replied.

“Then why hasn’t he travelled back to before the solar bomb hit our sun in order to prevent its destruction?” the Aegir Galaxy Senator challenged.

“The Aegir Galaxy Senator raises a good point. Surely if the hero of the Siege of Fenix Nest can travel through time as the Phoenix Empress claims, they can return to the past and prevent the solar system's destruction,” the Tail Galaxy Senator asked as the holographic projection of a Herpolisk appeared.

“Watch your tone when you speak about the Phoenix Empress, Sciezasyi,” Vu snapped as he glared at the Tail Galaxy Senator.

“I meant no disrespect, Senator Vu,” Sciezasyi said with a sneer before adding, “I was simply asking a question I’m sure we are all curious about.”

“A Herpolisk has no right to speak about our Empress after what your race attempted to do to ours,” Vu replied as a red glow began to outline his body.

“Senators, please,” the Supreme Speaker said in annoyance before looking at Sciezasyi and adding, “Tail Galaxy Senator, you have not been recognised to address the Senate, please return to your seat.”

“As you wish, Supreme Speaker,” Sciezasyi replied before sneering at Vu as the holographic projection of him vanished.

Vu closed his eyes and calmed himself down after Sciezasyi returned to his seat, only for the Kemel Galaxy Senator to suddenly say..

“I, the Kemel Galaxy Senator, formally request that the Phoenix Empress speak with the Black Knight on my race's behalf and ask him to travel back in time to save our solar system and homeworld.”

As he finished speaking, the senate chamber was filled with noise and discussions as the different senators discussed the Kemel Galaxy Senators' request.

“OBJECTION,” two voices suddenly said simultaneously before the holographic projections of the Valhalla and Hades Galaxy Senators both appeared.

“Why would you object, senators?” The Kemel Galaxy Senator asked defensively.

“Our apologies, Kemel Galaxy Senator, but while we sympathise with you and the rest of your race, we have no idea what would change should the Black Knight do as you request,” the Valhalla Senator explained.

“We know exactly what will change, my home solar system will be saved,” the Kemel Galaxy Senator replied.

“That may indeed happen, but we don’t know what else will change besides that,” the Hades Galaxy Senator began to explain. “We already know that when the Black Knight and White Dragon Tephe travelled back in time and altered history during the Siege of Fenix Nest, they changed history for everyone else, causing them to forget about the Phoenix race's extinction since it now never happened.

We have no way of knowing what effects saving the solar system from its destruction will have on the rest of the universe should the Black Knight accept your request. For all we know, saving one solar system could cause several others to disappear and I’m sure that’s not something you would want to happen.”

“Could either of you let this chance go if it were solar systems within the Valhalla and Hades Galaxies that we were discussing?” the Kemel Galaxy Senator asked.

“Probably not,” The Valhalla Senator admitted before continuing, “And I honestly can’t even imagine what you're experiencing right now, but we’re also not discussing the Valhalla Galaxy here.”

“That's quite enough of that,” the Supreme Speaker suddenly said as she cut off their conversation before saying, “While we appreciate your input, neither the Valhalla nor the Hades Galaxy Senators have been recognised to address the Senate at this moment, so I therefore ask you both to return to your seats.”

“Of course, Supreme Speaker,” The Valhalla Galaxy Senator replied.

“As you wish, Supreme Speaker,” The Hades Galaxy Senator replied.

As they finished speaking, their holographic projections vanished and the Supreme Speaker said, “Ashes Galaxy Senator, did the Phoenix Empress happen to inform you about how the Black Knight came to assist the Imperial Down?”

“Because the Black Knight is currently visiting Fenix Nest along with White Dragon Tephe and his other companions,” Vu replied, causing the senate chamber to once again become noisy as senators began to shout out questions.

“SILENCE, SILENCE!” the Supreme Speaker shouted again, only continuing to speak once the other senators had quieted down. “Then am I to believe that the Phoenix Empress now knows the identity of the pilot of the Black Knight?”

“That is my belief based on what she told me,” Vu replied.

“I see,” the Supreme Speaker replied before declaring, “Ashes Galaxy Senator, the Senate once again requests that you issue Phoenix Empress Revi a summons to appear before the universal senate in order to tell us the identity of the Black Knight’s pilot.”

“As the senate decrees, Supreme Speaker, please wait a moment while I once again contact the empress and inform her of this new summons,” the Ashes Galaxy senator replied before his holographic projection vanished.

“Is this ok, Vu?” Vespera asked nervously before adding, “Isn’t the Phoenix Empress personally chaperoning White Dragon Tephe right now?”

“That might be so, Vespera. However, an official senate summons is not something that she can ignore,” Vu replied while accessing his uniband to call Revi.

“Well, I can't really say I'm surprised,” Revi remarked after hearing about the summons from Vu.

“My apologies, Empress, but you know there is nothing I can do when the Senate makes an official summons,” Vu said apologetically.

“It’s fine, Vu.” Revi replied with a smile before adding, “Inform them that I will be there in a few minutes.”

“As you wish, Empress,” Vu replied before ending the call.

“Are you sure about this?” Tephe, who had returned to her humanoid form, asked as she looked at Adam, who was now stretching since he had been sitting for so long without moving.

“Well, I can’t imagine it will be good for Revi if the Universal Senate finds out she’s been lying about knowing my identity,” Adam replied before turning to Revi and asking, “right?”

“While they can’t specifically do anything to me like forcefully remove me from power or anything, they could put sanctions on my race, making life more difficult,” Revi replied.

“You mean like the sanctions they placed on the Terrans before?” Adam asked.

“Pretty much, though it’s difficult to judge how extreme the sanctions would be, we are talking about time travel here after all,” Revi answered.

“Then what about me? What do you suppose they will do when they find out my identity?” Adam asked.

“Honestly, not a lot,” Revi replied before explaining. “Your identity as someone from outside the known universe means that the Universal Senators have no real power over you and neither do any of the other races, unlike how they can summon me, the Phoenix Empress.

As long as you abide by the laws of the specific planet you are on, or the galaxy you're in, you shouldn’t have too much trouble… at least if you were someone normal.”

“Ouch, are you saying I’m abnormal?" Adam asked with a smirk.

“You can travel through time, babe, that’s about as abnormal as it gets,” Lorelie said with a laugh.

“Gee, thanks,” Adam replied while also laughing.

“What I’m saying is that while the universal senate can’t and most likely won’t do anything regarding your presence here in the known universe as long as you don’t do anything crazy, I can’t say the same about the other races.

Time travel is a powerful tool that almost anyone would want to get their hands on, so I’m fairly sure that once your identity is exposed, people will come after your ship,” Revi explained.

“I see,” Adam replied thoughtfully.

Listen,” Revi began as she placed a hand on Adam’s arm before saying, “If you're adamant about staying anonymous for the time being, then I won’t reveal your identity to the senate. That’s the least I can do after you saved my race and I’m sure my people would be more than willing to suffer a few hardships for you.”

“But that would involve explaining to the Phoenix race why they are suddenly under universal restrictions, which could cause more problems for you in the long run,” Adam replied before adding, “No, you're better off just telling the senate my identity, since they can’t really do anything to me anyway.

And if any of the races send people after Spector, then I guess I will just have to use them as an example for the others.”
