Chapter 153: Ian Sterling Suddenly Realizes She Is Summer Nolan’s Biological Younger Sister!
Summer looked at her indulgently, told her the code to the front door, and stood to the side to let her in first. Mrs. Nolan, leisurely sitting on the sofa eating fruit, glanced at the daughter coming in through the door, not realizing it was her second daughter."Why are you wearing this outfit for work today? Not wearing your uniform?" she asked lazily.
Vivian looked at her mother, damn, she really didn’t recognize me?
"I quit. From now on, you’ll have to support me," she teased her mom.
"What will I support you with? If you really quit, then just pick one of those two men to marry. They both seem to treat you well," Mrs. Nolan said calmly.
"Which two men?" Vivian asked in surprise, did my sister have backup options?
"Playing dumb."
She glanced at the girl, why did she feel a bit strange? Upon closer inspection of her appearance, she realized... This is not the eldest daughter, it’s the mischievous second one!
No wonder she called Attorney Spencer this afternoon, asking why he had the servant come over to cook. He said he had a surprise for her.
This was the surprise.
She jumped up from the sofa and went over to pinch the girl’s ear,
"You little heartless thing, you came back and didn’t call me sooner? Are you playing tricks on your mom?"
"Ouch!" Vivian hugged her mom’s hand, "I just wanted to surprise you."
At this moment, a tall figure walked out of the bathroom, and Summer, entering the living room, happened to see him, frowning, "Attorney Spencer, why are you in my house?"
"Auntie invited me over for dinner," Elias Spencer said.
"Yes, I invited him. Attorney Spencer had the servants buy groceries this afternoon, and they’ve been busy in the kitchen for hours. He’s so thoughtful, preparing a welcome dinner for Vivian right away."
Mrs. Nolan still preferred Attorney Spencer a bit; she had a thing for looks.
Summer glanced at her mom in speechless disbelief, really? One meal and he won her over?
Not wanting to bother with them, she took her sister to change clothes, as their clothes got a bit wet in the car.
Just then, the doorbell rang unexpectedly. Mrs. Nolan went to open the door, only to find Ian Sterling standing outside, holding a large bouquet of red roses in one hand and a long gift box in the other.
"Hello, Auntie, is Summer home?" he asked.
"She is, wait a moment." Mrs. Nolan had some issues with him, not letting him in. Last time, her daughter was drunk, and although their homes were quite close, why didn’t he send her daughter home?
Spending the night at his house?
Summer was called out by her mom and took his flowers at the door. She sniffed them, then intentionally said, "Perfect timing, I wanted some flowers to decorate inside."
"Then I’ll bring more tomorrow, so you can place some in your bedroom. The rose scent is fresh and mild, making the air smell nicer," he said.
"Great, come on in. My sister’s back, and you can have dinner with us tonight." Summer grabbed his hand and pulled him inside.
Sitting on the sofa, Elias Spencer watched them, looking so affectionate, with a very gloomy expression... He now believed it; she had truly fallen for that man.
Ian Sterling looked at the man sitting on the sofa, still not giving up? He even came to her house... Was he here to be tormented?
Might as well, let him see how well Summer and he are getting along now!
Vivian, wearing a light blue loungewear, came out excitedly, wanting to see who her sister’s other backup was.
When she saw that man, she froze in place!!!
Wasn’t he the one who... with her last night?
Ian Sterling also noticed her, instantly more shocked and panicked than she was, furrowing his thick eyebrows... How could it be her? She’s Summer’s biological sister?
If Summer knew about this, she definitely wouldn’t speak to him again.
No, she can’t find out!
Her sister probably wouldn’t tell, right?
Summer saw both him and her sister suddenly looking shocked, and curiously smiled and asked, "You two know each other?"
"No!" he instinctively blurted out.
"The way you two look, it seems like you know each other..." Summer said keenly, while Elias Spencer, arms crossed, elegantly leaned back on the sofa, watching them, not expecting him to arrive so soon.
He watched them with a composed demeanor—
"I-I was just surprised she looks so much like you."
Ian Sterling felt guiltier, even though he hadn’t intentionally betrayed her last night, or intentionally slept with her sister, he was still very nervous.
"Oh." Summer responded lightly, but still felt there was something suspicious about them.
"Oh right, here’s a gift for you..."
To break the awkwardness, he seized the chance to take out the gift he had prepared for her. He opened the gift box, inside was a very beautiful diamond necklace.
Summer glanced at it, raising an eyebrow, a limited edition Cartier necklace this year, over one million.
"This is a bit too expensive, you should take it back," she didn’t want to accept such a pricey gift from him.
"I spent the whole afternoon picking this out, you can’t let down my intentions. Come, let me put it on you."
Saying this, Ian Sterling deliberately put on the necklace for her in front of Elias Spencer.
Watching him, Vivian couldn’t help but smile, her impression of him worsening, feeling he was just a jerk, a hypocrite!
Last night, he kept coming back for more... having relations with her despite her pleas for mercy, the drug effect should’ve worn off by then, right? Now he’s showing off for her sister.
"This necklace suits you very well, even with a professional outfit, it fits perfectly," Ian Sterling said looking at her.
Summer smiled and nodded, "Alright, well thanks."
"Why are you being so formal with me?" he indulgently teased, ruffling her hair.
Elias Spencer silently lit a cigarette, took a deep puff, glanced at that man, and laughed mockingly, not exposing him.
He was somewhat surprised, didn’t expect that man to sleep with the girl’s sister, yet still want to have her sister too?
He surely had quite a big appetite.
He couldn’t help but glance at Vivian, seeing her not looking too well, feeling a bit sorry for her—given Ian Sterling’s current attitude, he likely wouldn’t take responsibility for her.
She looked quite young, did she even know what happened to herself last night? Why had she suddenly burst into Ian’s guest room?
"I’m hungry, can we eat now?" Vivian suddenly asked.
A servant came over and said, "Yes, everything is ready."
Everyone sat at the table, and the dishes were very sumptuous, all made with expensive ingredients. The servant filled their glasses with red wine, one by one.
The first dish Ian Sterling picked up was placed in Summer’s bowl, with concern, he advised, "You should eat more, you work so hard every day, you need more nutrition."
"Hmm, you should eat more too." Summer returned the favor by picking a piece of food for him too.
Seeing them so close, Mrs. Nolan frowned and asked, "What exactly is your relationship now?"
