Chapter 149: How Can There Be Two People Who Look So Alike?
Ian Sterling nudged the woman who was pressing down on him. "I know that man. I can send them away.""How do I know you won’t betray me?" The woman looked at him with blurry eyes, barely able to tell that he was quite good-looking.
His skin felt hotter than hers; was he also being schemed against?
"No more talking." Ian yanked her off him, got up, and went to the door. The woman looked at the door that was still being violently pounded and could only choose to trust him.
Swaying slightly, she immediately hid in the bathroom.
Ian was also in a bad mood now. He opened the door and punched the bodyguard in the face. "Bang!! Why the hell are you knocking like that? Do you think you can just knock on my door as you please?!"
The group of bodyguards glared at him angrily, but when they saw it was the young master of the Sterling Family, they froze. The Sterlings and the Grants were old family friends, with assets and influence surpassing the Grants. Even Boss Grant had to be respectful; how could they dare to offend?
"Young Master Sterling, we’re so sorry... We didn’t know it was you in this guest room. Why didn’t you open the door sooner?" A bodyguard apologized, sneaking glances into his room.
"Do you think you can interrupt men’s business whenever you like? Get lost!"
Ian kicked him in the stomach. The bodyguard staggered back a few steps, not daring to disturb further, nodding and bowing in apology:
"We’re leaving right now. Sorry, Young Master Sterling."
The group of bodyguards quickly left.
Ian closed the guest room door, his body feeling increasingly uncomfortable, seemingly reaching its limit.
He went to the bathroom and saw the blurry woman showering under cold water. He pushed her against the wall, "I just saved you, so tonight you’ll be repaying me."
Before the woman could refuse, he kissed her forcefully, removing her sexy and unique black leather jacket. Underneath was a white strapless top, half-exposing her slim waist, paired with a black short leather skirt below.
Her long black hair was already drenched, sticking wetly to her body.
The woman wanted to refuse but couldn’t resist the drug in her system. As he teased her, it became even harder to control.
"Could we... go to the bed?" She pushed him away slightly, her voice trembling with nervousness. It was her first time.
Ian ignored her, having no tenderness for this strange woman. The only one he liked was Summer Nolan... Hadn’t she slept with Elias Spencer too?
If he could accept her, why couldn’t she accept him?
Besides, he wouldn’t let Summer know about this.
-
A little past eleven at night, Summer and Elias had returned to the villa. She had called Ian during the gala.
His phone was off, and he was nowhere to be found at the event.
Presumably, something came up and he left early, so she left with Elias too.
As she got out of the car, Elias dashed out, wagging his big tail to greet her, suddenly standing up to pounce on her. Summer caressed his head:
"You’re a mother now, and still so excitable? Did you take good care of your pups today?"
Elias excitedly licked her hand, bouncing around her. Now that the puppies were born, it had returned to its lively and cute self.
A maid came over and complained,
"Miss Nolan, you’re finally back. Elias doesn’t want to feed the puppies. During the day, he just likes to run around in the garden.
We chased him for ages, and it took a lot of coaxing to get him back in the nest a few times."
Summer sighed, looking at Elias incredulously, prodding his head. "I praised your motherly instincts last night, and now you abandon them today?"
"You gave birth to so many, who’s going to take care of them if you don’t, hmm?"
"Come on, let’s get back to the nest to feed them." Summer called him as she walked towards the living room.
Elias stood still, just like Elias Spencer, having a cleanliness obsession. The puppy nest was messy, and it couldn’t handle the smell.
It also preferred playing alone, not liking being confined to the nest and listening to the puppies’ cries.
"He’s not following; seems he really doesn’t want to feed the puppies. This is problematic," Elias Spencer said, glancing back.
Summer looked at him, "... What do we do then?"
"Just force him to feed them for a while longer. Once the puppies are stronger, we can switch them to pet milk formula," he suggested.
"Seems we have no choice." Summer then gently tugged Elias’s collar, patting his behind. "Come on, go check on your babies."
As the door to the pet room opened, a strong milky scent mixed with a hint of urine hit them. Elias Spencer raised his hand to fan his nose.
Understanding why Elias didn’t like entering to feed them, he coldly reprimanded the maid, "Why does it smell so strongly here? You should change the pee pads more frequently."
"Yes, we understand," the maid replied nervously; they just thought it was wasteful.
"Clean the neighboring room thoroughly, make it cozy, and set up a new nest. Whenever this room smells, move them to the other room.
This room should be ventilated and cleaned immediately.
Remember, Elias has a cleanliness obsession," Summer instructed.
"Yes, yes, we understand," the maids responded respectfully, realizing these people and their pets live lives much more luxurious than many.
Summer coaxed Elias into the nest to feed the pups. Seeing them nurse cutely melted her heart.
"Do you like babies?" Elias Spencer squatted beside her and asked.
"I don’t know."
"Then should we try having one?" He nudged her with his elbow.
"Who wants to have kids with you? Go have them with your assistant," Summer snapped, glancing at him coldly.
Elias Spencer felt troubled... How could he appease her?
"I’m a bit hungry, how about a late-night snack with some TV?" He wanted to spend more time with her.
"I’m not hungry; you eat by yourself." With that, Summer stood up and left the pet room, heading upstairs to the guest room, leaving Elias Spencer frowning, watching her back with some sorrow.
-
The next morning.
After many sunny days, heavy rain poured down today, a sudden thunderclap waking the man sleeping soundly in bed.
The balcony window hadn’t been shut tightly, cold air blowing into the room.
Ian Sterling opened his bleary eyes, his gaze falling on the woman in his arms, her appearance startling him!!!
Summer Nolan?
No, impossible! She didn’t admit she was Summer last night—
How could there be two people who looked so alike?
It had to be coincidental resemblance.
He calmed himself, withdrawing his numb arm from beneath her head. Last night, he had been wild, venting all his frustrations on her.
They went at it over and over—
Now he regretted it deeply, knowing he must never let Summer find out about this.
