Chapter 666 655: Hellish Pleasure (Part 3)

Nima was running for his life, the Zombies excitedly in pursuit. If he couldn't quickly find a temporary haven to escape this chase and just kept running, his fate would be easily predictable.

Come on, competing with Zombies in endurance? Even the best long-distance runners in the world would eventually collapse from exhaustion.

At this moment, Nima was beyond frustrated. He regretted his stupid decision earlier. How could he have been so impulsive to abandon a four-wheeled vehicle and choose to escape on foot?

If it weren't for his quick reflexes and timely escape earlier, he would've long been surrounded by those beasts as their afternoon snack.

The Zombies' wheezing breaths were like whips, lashing continuously at Nima's already freezing naked body.

He could clearly feel that the slight warmth generated from his running couldn't compensate for the rapid loss of body heat. He believed that if things continued this way, it wouldn't be long before his blood would stop circulating, leading to heart failure.

Of course, Nima, who wasn't very educated, naturally didn't understand this kind of knowledge. However, the sensation of his increasingly stiff body due to the cold was something he could viscerally feel.

The stiffness directly resulting in a decrease in his speed.

That bitch Li Huiru, if by some chance I survive this time, I'm gonna catch her and beat her dead.

Nima attributed all his resentment to Li Huiru. In his eyes, if it weren't for her, he wouldn't have ended up with this damned task.

What angered him most was that when he was making a final sprint towards Li Huiru, those beasts appeared out of nowhere.

In other words, this time he might end up losing everything; failing to have a good time with Li Huiru and instead risking his life.

Moreover, when he was chased by Zombies and returned to the car, that damned woman shamelessly refused to save him, locking all the car doors.

Thinking about how just a few minutes ago Li Huiru was serving him passionately, only to now become a killer intent on his demise, Nima's heart surged with unstoppable anger.

It seemed like fate was deliberately trying to further complicate his already tumultuous state of mind. The roar of a Toyota Camry's engine grew closer, and it sounded like the vehicle was heading in his direction.

Nima longed to look back at the situation but worried that doing so would further reduce his already slowed speed due to his stiff body.

However, the sound of the car somewhat rekindled some fighting spirit in Nima's previously extinguished thoughts.

Could it be that that dead woman Li Huiru had a change of heart, realizing that she couldn't survive this apocalypse with just her own strength? That makes sense; after all, I've been with her, which makes me like her man, right?

Seems like her brain isn't too slow after all. She's finally coming back to save me.

Hmph, I'll get in the car and get through this calamity first. Once everything settles down, I'll slowly settle both new and old scores with you, cripple you until you can't manage yourself.

As Nima shamelessly imagined to himself, Li Huiru sped past him driving the Toyota Camry without any intent of stopping. The fleeting car raised a cold wind making the already near-frozen Nima even worse off.

The physical cold might still be overcome, but the psychological despair was fatal.

As the Toyota Camry left a trail of exhaust and headed away, Nima's last hope was completely extinguished.

He couldn't suppress his internal fury any longer and reached forward, shouting with despair:

"Stop, bitch! You're really going to leave me to die, damn you! Damn your whole family!"

Useless venting didn't change anything, rather it made Nima nearly stumble forward after screaming his frustrations.

Perhaps provoked by his shouting, the Zombies behind chimed in.

Nima hurriedly turned his head and, terrified, urged his already cold-stiffened body to run again.

Fear and a desire for life made him unleash his last reserves of potential.

You have to say Nima was somewhat lucky, because of the location being in a desolate suburb, sparsely populated, and shortly after his escape, he reached the main highway. So now, apart from the few pursuing Zombies behind him, the entire road was devoid of any living creatures, save for the barely visible Toyota Camry.

What's more important is that, while the Zombies were also running, they were only moving slightly faster and Nima hadn't encountered the upgraded Zombies "Runners" yet, which could be considered a fortunate misfortune.

Otherwise, in his current state, he wouldn't have had a chance to escape for such a long time.

The highway ahead stretched endlessly, and hoping to find a refuge on such a road was clearly a fool's dream.

Nima was nearly in despair, knowing that continuing like this could only end with him being knocked down and dismembered by the beasts. He dared not imagine how painful that would be, but the scene of a mouse being brutally killed flashed before his eyes like a haunting specter.

The extreme cold began causing hallucinations for Nima. His body began to sway erratically, his steps growing unsteady.

I'm doomed. Nima realized his life was nearing its end, unwillingly smacking his own soon-to-spasm facial muscles twice in an attempt to keep himself awake to the maximum extent possible.

"Buzz buzz buzz!" Engine noises. Nima, unsure, increased the intensity of his facial smacks. The prickling pain allowed him to clearly see the road ahead, where a car was speeding towards him, and from its shape, it seemed to be the same Toyota Camry he had been traveling in.

What the hell is going on? Nima's muddled brain struggled to figure out why another Toyota Camry appeared. Hadn't Li Huiru already driven away? Could it be that the bitch came back again?

Nima's steps grew heavier as he felt it was getting hard to continue. Powerlessly, he stood in place, eyes fixed on the approaching car, hoping they would stop in front of him and take him away from this dangerous place.

Indeed, the one driving towards Nima was none other than Li Huiru, who had just left. Her gaze was firm, eyes set murderously ahead; this time she returned not for anything else but to make sure that the naked beast in front paid the price he deserved.

Nima finally saw the situation in the car, the broken glass, the bloodstained doors; it was indeed the Toyota Camry he had been in, and the person in the driver's seat was none other than Li Huiru herself.

Nima and Li Huiru locked eyes, the former filled with pleading hope, the latter with a resolve for revenge, triggering a collision that would decide life or death. (To be continued.
