Chapter 146: House Tour On Stream (2)
<🎧 Song Recommendation: iSpy by KYLE, Lil Yachty>
...
"Now, the next place is a really special place," Max told the viewers, lowering his voice to build some suspense. "It’s where all the magic happens. Or, well, where it will be happening rather."
He led them toward a door at the end of the hall, taking the stairs down to the basement level.
The deeper they went, the quieter the house became. He walked them through a long, sound-treated corridor. The walls were lined with acoustic panels that absorbed their footsteps completely.
The corridor ended in a set of heavy, reinforced double doors. A small green light above the door frame was currently glowing brightly.
"The green light means I have permission to enter," Max explained to the stream. He puffed out his chest, looking proud. "I actually built this place for myself when I was still interested in music. But now, I let Von and his producer use it just because I’m so nice."
Max pushed the heavy double doors open and stepped inside. There was a comfortable leather couch right beside the entrance.
The room below was far bigger than anyone could have imagined from the outside. It looked like a professional facility. In the center of the space stood a large, soundproof glass box meant for recording vocals. Across the room, in the far corner, sat a massive mixing console glowing with a lot of neon sliders and buttons. Two massive studio monitors flanked a pair of wide computer screens displaying complex audio waveforms.
Sitting right in the center of it all was Patch.
He looked exactly like a mad scientist. His hair was messy, and he was completely lost in his own world, nodding his head aggressively to a silent rhythm playing through his heavy studio headphones.
Max walked over and tapped him on the shoulder.
Patch didn’t even flinch. He just casually pulled one earphone off his ear and looked up.
"We’re live," Max said, pointing the phone camera directly at him. "Ninety thousand people are watching you right now, sir Patch. Play something."
Patch blinked at Max. He stared at the ridiculous outfit for a second, but his face calmed entirely after seeing that Von had just walked into the room and was standing right beside Max.
Patch looked at Von, silently asking for permission. After receiving a nod of approval from Von, Patch turned his attention to the camera.
"Well, imma give y’all a peek at somethin’ me and Von been workin’ on for some time now," Patch said.
He turned back to his desk, clicked his mouse, and turned on the main audio.
Immediately, familiar piano chords began playing through the massive studio speakers. It was accompanied by the familiar, emotional vocals. But a second later, the beat dropped, and it sounded completely different.
It was a hardstyle remix. The tempo was cranked up fast. A heavy, distorted kick drum slammed through the speakers, layered with a highly aggressive, thumping bassline. It took a sad, slow song and turned it into a high-energy club track.
Patch only allowed it to play for exactly ten seconds before he hit the spacebar and paused it. But that was more than enough time. Everyone in the stream recognized it immediately.
[Minecraftsucks: isn’t that Far Away? 😳 Is that a remix]
[DespicableYou1: I’ve heard this before! This is actually fire, but I think I prefer the original version a lot more]
[BassHead99: YOOO THAT KICK DRUM IS CRAZY]
[PopFanaticgirl: I kinda like the slow one better tbh 🥺]
There were thousands of comments flying by. It was a complete mix of positive and negative reactions. Some loved the fast energy, while others strongly preferred the original sad version. Many of them were even hearing the songs for the first time.
Seeing the mixed reactions, Von stepped into the frame and took the initiative to address the viewers.
"Yup, that’s the hardstyle remix with Patch as a lead artist," Von said, patting Patch on the shoulder. "We wanted it to be a surprise drop, but since you’ve already heard it, expect it tomorrow guys."
In truth, Von and Aura had agreed on this remix as early as a week ago. Von, along with many of his fans, would agree that the original version was definitely the best.
But the business plan was to use this perfect opportunity to re-release the two versions together as a single package and see which one picked up traction.
Von strongly felt the song would do incredibly well right now because he had originally written it with the upcoming lockdown in mind. The feelings of isolation and being far away from loved ones fit the current state of the world perfectly.
"There’s actually one more. I’m pretty sure you’ll love this one," Von suddenly said, turning to look at the producer.
Patch raised his eyebrow in surprise. They hadn’t planned on playing anything else.
Von simply waved his hand to brush off the concern. "It’s far from complete, but give them a glimpse Patch."
Patch did exactly as he was told. He quickly clicked through his folders, selected the new audio file, and hit play.
A heavy, infectious, absolutely filthy bass drop blasted through the speakers. It hit so hard it rattled the floorboards. It was layered with a rapid-fire hi-hat sequence and a dark, gritty synth melody that sounded like pure adrenaline.
It played for exactly five seconds before Patch reached out and turned it off.
The studio went silent. Even Max was standing there with his mouth wide open, letting out a quiet "woww."
"That’s enough," Von said with a loud laugh. "No free leaks. You guys have to wait for the rollout."
The chat, which was now holding over a hundred thousand viewers, completely lost its collective mind. They were stunned by what they had just heard.
[WorldizJuice: BRO PUT IT BACK ON!!!!]
[MisforgivemyUnderstanding: THAT BEAT WAS DISGUSTING 🔥🔥🔥]
[BeatMakerstud12: PATCH IS A GOD 💨]
[LilyyV: VON WHY DO YOU TORTURE US 😭 😭]
[DeathKing8i: I NEED THAT SONG RIGHT NOW]
Von smiled widely at the amazing reception to his next single. Patch just laughed, grabbing his headphones and spinning his chair back around to face his screens.
"Tell em I said hi," Patch called out without looking back.
