Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 36: Qian, Trump Card!

Chapter 36: Qian, Trump Card!

When Qian wanted to move everything to her own room, Chen Lin was not having it.

"You, as the elder sister, why don’t you act like one? Leave some for your brother!"

"Why should the things my child’s father bought for me be given to others?" Qian snorted.

"You want Da Long to use the pink blanket?"

"Get your mom to make a blue cover for it. His blanket needs replacing. Also, send some of the food up to your brother. He’s worn out from studying and needs some brain nourishment—grab a handful yourself too."

Qian glanced at Yu, who was quite earnest, buying durable nut snacks for her that seemed to weigh several pounds. Those are quite expensive.

Chen Lin was really "generous", several pounds, yet he wanted her to grab just a few handfuls.

"I’m not giving him a single handful. He needs nourishment, but I don’t? His blanket needs changing, but mine doesn’t?"

Chen Lin was irritated, his face darkened. "What are you comparing with your brother? Can you have a bit of elder sister’s demeanor?"

"I’m the younger sister. You should keep the good things for your son. Let me just tell you, these things are mine today. Anyone who dares to touch them, I’ll set them on fire!"

This was Yu Minglang’s stuff for her, why should she have to share it with that spoiled brother?

"His dad, say a few less words. Qian’er just had her engagement fall through; she’s feeling bad. All these pink items should go to Qian’er. As for the food, split it equally, okay?"

"No way! They’re all mine!" Yu bought them, and no one’s getting anything!

Chen Lin was furious, pointing at Qian, "You troublesome girl, getting worse as you grow! You can’t get into college, can’t get married, yet you’re skilled at grabbing stuff for yourself!"

Qian suddenly had a mysterious smile and pulled out a vibrant red paper from her pocket.

"Who said I couldn’t get in?"

Chen Lin saw it and exclaimed, "Oh my God!"

So stunned he couldn’t speak.

Jia Xiufang snatched it over, opened it, and said, "Oh, an admission notice... Qian’er, are you out of your mind, making a fake because you couldn’t get in?"

"Didn’t you see it has a stamp?"

"Ah! Where did this come from?" Jia Xiufang was overjoyed.

"I ran into a teacher from our class today. She thought I shouldn’t have failed and specially checked the data for me. Oh, turns out there was a mistake, I got in."

Qian looked at the already bewildered Chen Lin, feeling simply wonderful.

"Why did the admission notice arrive just now?" Jia Xiufang turned it over and over, confirming it was real. In an instant, she threw her daughter’s failed engagement out the window.

"The teacher helped me replace the admission notice. This teacher is way more reliable than the head teacher, who knows nothing." Qian smiled broadly at Chen Lin.

"Tell me again, who said I couldn’t get into college? I think you’ve seen the admission notice, right? 985 prestigious university, the top psychology school in the country, a high school entrance score of 668, good enough for the Chen Family to host a banquet, right?"

Jia Xiufang was overjoyed, "Host, host! I always said my daughter’s studies were excellent, how could she not get in? Haha, let’s host it immediately, let your uncle and several big uncles see, my daughter Qian’er doesn’t let us down at critical moments!"

Initially, when the teacher said Qian failed, nobody believed it.

But Chen Lin said the girl applied only to prestigious universities, and even wrote that she didn’t accept allocation, so it’s normal to be squeezed out. Usually, families in these situations let their kids retake the exams for a year, especially for scholars, but Chen Lin was cheap, eager for Qian to get married.

So many relatives didn’t openly say it, but secretly treated Qian’s failure as a cautionary tale. What use is a girl studying if she can’t get into college...

Now, this bright red admission notice came out, Jia Xiufang was so excited her blood boiled, wishing she could immediately drag Qian out to parade the streets. Whoever said my daughter was worthless, open your eyes wide and see how high she scored!

Chen Lin ignored the ecstatic Jia Xiufang and stepped over Qian, heading straight upstairs.

He couldn’t understand how the concealed admission notice suddenly appeared in his daughter’s hands.

"His dad, where are you going, with such good news of Qian’er getting into college, why aren’t you celebrating?"

Jia Xiufang was filled with feelings of triumph, having felt stifled the past few days, now feeling suddenly relieved.

Qian knew, Chen Lin was not only unenthusiastic now, but also furious.

She linked arms with Jia Xiufang and cheerfully asked.

"Mom, shouldn’t these things be mine? I’ll need them for school."

"Take, take, take, all for you!"

"What about Da Long?"

"Don’t worry about him, his class teacher just called saying he hasn’t attended remedial classes all summer, that fool. After spending so much on his summer tuition, he still skips classes!"

Jia Xiufang waved her hand dismissively. With so much trouble at home, there’s finally something pleasant.

The restless menopausal housewife immediately picked up the phone, dialing each relative.

"Hey, Aunt, let me tell you something. My daughter Qian’er got into college! The best university in the province. I’m considering hosting a graduation banquet. Among the Chen Family brothers, no kid has gotten into such a good school. Just last year, her uncle’s family had someone going to vocational college, and they brag to everyone, I’ll host several tables for my girl... Marriage? What marriage! She’s so young, studying is more important, and that guy’s not good, has hepatitis B..."

Jia Xiufang’s voice could almost bring down the roof.

Qian knew, her mother would be on the phone all morning, informing each relative one by one, then spreading it around the neighborhood. Getting into a prestigious university is something that makes any family happy for days.

But upstairs, that stingy man is probably furious, right?

Qian flipped through the items Yu Minglang brought with variety, thinking gleefully.

Chen Lin indeed was about to explode.

He opened the soapbox where the admission notice was hidden; inside was just a slip of paper.

He was angry, but not me. Anger harms the body with no one to help, inviting a doctor to treat and cure, saying that curing anger is not easy, calm down!

Infuriated to death!!!

This damn girl!

Chen Lin ripped the note to shreds, regretting why he didn’t tear up the admission notice.

He had kept the notice originally to brag with his friends over drinks, proving he raised a studious daughter.

But didn’t expect it would be dug out by this damn girl.

This girl has too many tricks up her sleeve, using this way to annoy him, certain that he can’t tell the truth.

Now, the foolish woman downstairs is already ecstatic, and all the relatives and friends know the girl got into college. If he doesn’t support her, each relative would spit at him, and he would never be able to hold his head high again.

The problem is, he’s completely broke now, the family’s savings have long been emptied, what to do now...
