Redemption of a Born Demon

Chapter 162 - 100: The 3 Artifacts

Chapter 162 - 100: The 3 Artifacts

Meanwhile, somewhere in Modu.

Inside a tobacco and liquor store.

A young man dressed as a courier, carrying a large box, arrived at the front of the store.

"Boss! Your delivery is here!"

The young man shouted to the middle-aged owner, who was sitting in a recliner inside the store, seemingly dozing off.

"Hey, hey, I’m coming, I’m coming! It’s all fragile stuff, be careful with it."

Hearing this, the middle-aged owner quickly got up and walked over.

"Don’t you worry, everything is intact. How about you open it and check?"

The courier gave the owner a meaningful smile.

"No need for all that trouble. You think I don’t trust you guys?"

The middle-aged owner smiled and offered the young man a cigarette. They exchanged a few pleasantries, and the young man left the store.

The smile on the middle-aged owner’s face vanished. His eyes swept the surroundings, and after confirming that everything was normal, he carried the box into the back room.

A middle-aged man was already waiting there. He was of average height and build, with plain features and ordinary clothes—the kind of man who would disappear in a crowd.

"Did the item arrive?"

the man asked the store owner.

"It should be in here."

The store owner placed the box on the floor. When he opened it, it was filled with regular tobacco and liquor.

However, after rummaging around for a bit, he found a palm-sized paper box inside a cigarette carton.

Inside the paper box was a black jewelry box.

The store owner opened the jewelry box. A bloodstained silver cross lay quietly inside.

The bloodstains were dark and mottled, as if they had seeped into the silver itself. The metal was dull and lusterless, appearing almost black in places, clearly indicating it had been around for a very long time.

Upon seeing the bloodstained cross, both men’s breathing grew slightly heavier. They felt a strange agitation welling up inside them, and they immediately looked away, quickly shutting the jewelry box.

"This is it."

The store owner handed the jewelry box to the ordinary-looking middle-aged man.

"With this, all three ’Dharma Artifacts’ have been gathered."

The middle-aged man took the jewelry box, secured it close to his body, and stood up.

"I’ll leave the rest to you,"

the store owner said.

Soon after, the middle-aged man left the store, smoking a cigarette and acting nonchalant. He deliberately avoided the street’s surveillance cameras and entered a foot-massage parlor through the back door. After making contact with someone inside, he was led to a private room.

Several people were already waiting in the room.

Three of them were of East Asian descent, but each was tall and powerfully built. Their every move exuded an intense, oppressive aura, as if they weren’t men but terrifying beasts.

They were all Super Warriors who possessed a Saintly Body.

The three men’s expressions were perfectly calm.

They didn’t know what kind of mission they were about to undertake, nor did they care.

Whatever the organization arranged, they would faithfully carry it out to the end, even at the cost of their own lives.

They had been raised by the organization since childhood, their minds completely brainwashed. They followed orders unconditionally, with no concept of resistance.

Coupled with the chips in their brains, they had no control over their own lives or deaths. They would loyally obey any command.

They were the Death Warriors the organization had cultivated at enormous cost.

"Gentlemen, the organization recognizes the extreme difficulty and high risk of your upcoming mission. For that reason, we have specially prepared ’Dharma Artifacts’ for you, along with the newly developed ’Elixir No. 9.’ These two things will maximize your Physical Ability and mental fortitude, allowing you to possess power far beyond your current limits for up to half a day,"

the plain-looking middle-aged man said to the three Super Warriors.

The middle-aged man then waved his hand, and someone behind him immediately brought several items to the three men.

Each received a thick syringe filled with an unknown, pale red liquid.

The other items were three jewelry-box-like objects of varying lengths and sizes.

"Inject the elixir. Then, each of you take one of these boxes, open it, and feel the Dharma Artifact within with your entire being."

"Gentlemen, for the organization, for the grand ideals of humanity, we are counting on you for this operation,"

the middle-aged man said in a low voice, bowing deeply to the three. The others behind him did the same.

The three men’s faces remained calm, as if devoid of any emotional fluctuation.

Under everyone’s watchful gaze, they picked up the syringes beside them and unhesitatingly plunged them into their bodies.

THUMP! THUMP!

Their hearts began to pound violently and their breathing quickened. It was as if some latent potential in their brains had been unlocked; the world around them began to grow hazy, indistinct, and dreamlike.

Fighting through the discomfort, the three men picked up the variously sized jewelry boxes in front of them and opened them.

In the leftmost jewelry box lay a bloodstained cross.

In the rightmost jewelry box lay a long, narrow bone needle.

In the middle jewelry box lay a broken half of a Jade Pendant.

Each of the three Super Warriors held a jewelry box. In their eyes, their surroundings had become completely blurred and distorted. Only the objects in the boxes grew increasingly real, filling their entire field of vision.

And eventually, their entire consciousness.

They began to resonate deeply with a special magnetic field emanating from the objects.

BOOM!!

A terrifying torrent of information from that magnetic field was absorbed by their brains, and fragments of memories began to surface in their minds.
