Reborn with My Genius Husband

Chapter 202: Almost Passed Out from His ’Consideration

Chapter 202: Almost Passed Out from His ’Consideration

Around noon, Holly Winslow saw Anna Willow post a status: "It just means they don’t really care about you."

She had obviously gotten into a fight with Zeke Zane.

Mortimer Quincy, with his excellent eyesight, saw her open her chat window with Anna Willow, apparently about to check in on her.

Him: "..."

His survival instincts kicking in, he snatched her phone and stuffed it straight into his pocket, chiding gently, "Don’t use your phone while you’re walking."

Holly Winslow glanced at his pants pocket and explained, "I was going to ask Anna what’s wrong. It looks like she got into a fight with Zeke."

She reached for it, but the scoundrel kept his hands in his pockets, blocking her.

Mortimer Quincy said nonchalantly, "You’re overthinking it. Zeke was just in the group chat saying he’s going to take Anna to the movies."

Before Holly could answer, he added, "Don’t you have tutoring this afternoon?"

Since she had taken last week off, Holly had told Sophia Zane she would make up the session this afternoon, and Sophia had agreed.

She raised her wrist to check her watch. "Ah, it’s already twelve-thirty! I haven’t prepared my lesson material yet. I can’t talk anymore, I’m heading back to my dorm."

After watching her enter her dorm, Mortimer Quincy pulled out his phone, called Zeke Zane, and said bluntly, "Apologize. Take her to a movie, buy her some clothes, get her something to eat."

"I’ll lend you the money."

Zeke Zane was stunned for a moment. "..."

’Mortimer Quincy suddenly showing concern for someone... that’s a rare sight.’

He had no shame. "In that case, lend me five hundred. I’ll pay you back next month when I get paid from my part-time job."

His living allowance wasn’t much—only a thousand a month. He’d taken Anna out for a full day this month, so money was a little tight.

As soon as the call ended, he received a 1,000 yuan transfer from Mortimer Quincy.

"..."

’This is the first time Mortimer Quincy has ever seemed so considerate.’

It was unprecedented.

’It almost feels like I’m being cuckolded...’

PFFT!

By the time Holly Winslow remembered the incident and asked Anna about it, she and Zeke were already out having a grand time.

They really were watching a movie.

Perhaps because the session was taking up her precious Friday afternoon, Chloe Hollis was completely uncooperative. During the lesson, she either twirled her pen or bounced her crossed leg impatiently.

Holly didn’t expect her to magically start studying hard after a few words of encouragement.

’*Ahem*. If students were easy to manage, there wouldn’t be so many bald teachers, and there wouldn’t be so many parents sighing in despair.’

Even after Holly reminded her several times, Chloe didn’t change her behavior. Holly held her tongue, knowing it wasn’t her place to get angry, but by the end, she was simmering with frustration.

The session ran from two until six, but thanks to Chloe’s uncooperative attitude, they only covered half the material. Holly’s expression was grim. She pressed her lips together and, after a tense pause, said, "Finish the homework I assigned. I’ll be checking it tomorrow."

Chloe Hollis just grunted, "Oh," then flopped onto her bed, pulled out her phone, and started playing on it.

Holly shot her a look but didn’t say anything else. She packed up her books, said a quick goodbye to Sophia Zane, and left.

「Downstairs」

Mortimer saw his wife’s long, unhappy face. He reached out and stroked her hair. "Student wasn’t listening?"

"Mhm. She wasn’t paying attention, and she ignored me when I tried to get her to focus."

Holly sighed with the weight of the world on her shoulders. "If she were my kid, I’d spank her until she listened."

Mortimer couldn’t help but let out a low chuckle. "Let’s have one, then."

Holly: "..."

She glared at him and pouted. "And if we do, are *you* going to raise them?"

"I could raise four or five, no problem." Mortimer was rather confident in his abilities, raising a cocky eyebrow.

Holly: "..."

Back home, Holly went to take a shower. Mortimer glanced at the clothes she had forgotten on the bed. This was a frequent occurrence.

He raised an eyebrow, pretended not to see them, then rolled up his sleeves and headed to the kitchen to start cooking.

About ten minutes later, a voice called out from the bathroom, "Hubby... Hubby..."

A smirk played on Mortimer’s lips as he strolled out of the kitchen. He saw Holly poking her head out of the bathroom, her wet hair dripping down onto her collarbones.

His gaze darkened. "What is it?"

"Can you grab my clothes for me? They should be on the bed." Completely oblivious, Holly ducked back inside after she spoke.

Mortimer grabbed the clothes and, without knocking, opened the door and walked right in. Startled, Holly frantically tried to cover herself, but covering her top half left her bottom half exposed. Her face flushed crimson all the way to her neck as she demanded, flustered, "Why did you just come in?"

’We’ve been living apart for so long, I almost forgot this scoundrel pulls stunts like this all the time.’

"Bringing you your clothes."

Mortimer shrugged innocently, his eyes fixed on her pale neck. "Wifey," he purred, "I’ve already seen everything. From top to bottom, inside and out."

Holly: "..."

’Seen my ass!’

She snatched the pajamas from him and kicked out with her foot. "You pervert! Get out!"

Having gotten his eyeful, Mortimer obediently exited.

’Got to eat and drink my fill before the *real* exercise begins.’

When Holly emerged, fully dressed, she saw Quincy the Rogue setting the table. "Hmph," she huffed. "Pervert."

Mortimer raised an eyebrow and handed her a pair of chopsticks. "I’ll be even more of a pervert later."

"So eat up."

Holly: "..."

She deliberately ate at a snail’s pace.

It was already past eight. Mortimer saw her stalling on purpose, but he didn’t seem anxious. He simply got up and started to clean the kitchen.

After dawdling for another ten minutes or so, Holly genuinely couldn’t eat another bite and put down her utensils.

Right in front of Mortimer, she called Wyatt Winslow, even sticking her tongue out at him smugly. When she was done talking to Wyatt, she flopped onto the sofa and called her grandparents.

That call lasted for over half an hour.

She’d thought the scoundrel would be getting impatient, but to her surprise, he just sat there calmly, reading a book.

Holly was just wondering if he’d given up when she hung up the phone. The moment she did, he took her phone and shut it off.

He stashed the phone in the cabinet beneath the coffee table, looking like he was preparing for something momentous.

Seeing her wide-eyed stare, Mortimer leaned in close, his voice a low rasp. "Finished your calls? Now it’s time for business." With a display of pure masculine strength, he swept her up into his arms.

Holly: "..."

’So all my stalling just made things more convenient for him!’

As they entered the bedroom, her eyes landed on the light blue sheets. "No, wait!" she cried out. "We have to change the sheets first, or they’ll be a pain to wash!"

’These sheets were expensive—several hundred yuan for the set!’

Hearing this, Mortimer, who was at the peak of his desire: "..."

’Fucking hell.’ He was so exasperated he had to laugh.

’I’m about to explode, and she wants me to change the sheets?’

He let out a low curse. "Change them, my ass."

Holly: "..."

She felt a reprimand was in order. "Mor—mmph."

Mortimer silenced her with a kiss, deliberately nipping her lip. "Wifey, you have no idea what you do to me."

Holly: "..."

...

Finally sated, Mortimer let Holly go and carried her to the bath.

Soaking in the tub, the soreness in Holly’s body finally began to ease. She glared resentfully at a certain someone.

Knowing he was at fault, Mortimer pulled her in for a kiss and coaxed, "Later, Hubby will order a feast for you to help you recover."

Her entire body ached; she was in no mood for a feast. She vented her frustration by pinching his cheek. "I don’t want it."

Seeing her pout, her face flushed and exuding a distinctly feminine allure, Mortimer felt his throat tighten.

But considering it was his wife’s first time, he decided to let her off the hook... for now.

If he really pushed her over the edge, they’d be back to sleeping in separate rooms.

A man who had just broken a long dry spell couldn’t possibly endure that.

If Holly knew what he was thinking, she would’ve given him the biggest eye-roll of his life.

’They’d already been at it for hours, and he called *that* being considerate? Considerate, my ass!’

His "consideration" had nearly made her pass out.
