Chapter 579 - 563 Fears his beastly instincts will erupt
Chapter 579: 563 Fears his beastly instincts will erupt "Take me to the riverside," the person beside him said, his voice unnaturally hoarse.
"Huh? Now?" Xu Zhengyang tilted his head in confusion, only to meet his bloodshot eyes. This, this, this—this was clearly a man desperate for a woman!!!
Twisting the steering wheel sharply, Xu Zhengyang quickly changed direction. The car swerved recklessly, making the ride anything but smooth.
"What are you panicking for?" Jiang Jinghuai’s throat tightened, his breathing becoming rapid.
The deep, magnetic voice that escaped his throat—it was enough to make even a man like Xu Zhengyang’s face flush and pulse race.
Everyone at the station gossiped that he was ’incapable,’ but this was anything but incapable behavior!
Xu Zhengyang swallowed nervously. "Bro, how exactly did you get hit by this?"
"Faster." Jiang Jinghuai pressed his thin lips together, chest heaving heavily.
Xu Zhengyang sped up, terrified that the man next to him might suddenly lose control and do something unforgivable to him. After all, it was just the two of them in the car.
To be fair, Ye Jiang looked like he was really on edge—his face had turned bright red, all the way to the tips of his ears.
"Ye Jiang, how about we... uh... find a woman?" The moment he said it, Xu Zhengyang realized he’d made a mistake. If Ye Jiang wanted a woman, wasn’t his wife just there earlier? Xu Zhengyang decided to stop talking and focus on driving.
Soon, they arrived at the riverside.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Jiang Jinghuai jumped into the water.
It was the dead of winter. While swimming in freezing water was no big deal for a soldier, Xu Zhengyang shivered just watching him.
The icy water seeped into Jiang Jinghuai’s body, extinguishing the fire burning inside him. He picked up speed, darting through the water like a whale, flipping and twisting. Three to five minutes later, he burst out of the water, sending droplets flying. Floating on his back, a woman’s alluring face flashed through his mind—memories of passionate nights flooded him, igniting his heart and scorching his chest.
He abruptly shook off the thoughts, his cold, dark eyes snapping open.
Hua Jun.

"Here, dry off." Xu Zhengyang rummaged through the car and found a towel.
Jiang Jinghuai took it and carelessly wiped his face. "You said you had a lead?"
Xu Zhengyang’s expression turned serious. "Last time, we spooked them, so Old Liu and his crew switched to traveling by water. Their target is Jinjiang Pier in the neighboring city. Yesterday, they stayed in town and only set off this morning. As of now, they haven’t reached Jinjiang Pier. I’ve already coordinated with the local police; if we head there now, we have a good chance of catching them red-handed."
Jiang Jinghuai nodded impassively, climbing back into the car with his clothes still dripping wet.
"Aren’t you cold?" Xu Zhengyang started the engine. "Do you want to change clothes first?"
Jiang Jinghuai glanced at him. "If I wear your clothes, what will you wear?"
Xu Zhengyang: "..."
"Then forget it," Jiang Jinghuai said simply. "I’ll cool down this way."
Xu Zhengyang: That’s a cold joke.
Outside Yipin Xiang Residence, Tian Sangsang was about to head to the police station.
Seeing the police officers getting out of the car, a glimmer of hope reignited in her despairing heart. She rushed forward, her voice trembling. "Captain Xu, do you have news about my son?"
She looked painfully thinner after just one day. Xu Zhengyang couldn’t bear to crush her hopes.
Luckily, this time, they did have news.
He looked at her and consoled her reassuringly, "We’ve pinpointed a definite location and are on our way to apprehend them! Mrs. Jiang, please don’t worry. We’ll bring your son back safely!"
Tian Sangsang insisted firmly, "I’m going with you!"
Xu Zhengyang hesitated. "This..."
"Let her come," Jiang Jinghuai interjected coldly, glancing at them before tugging the damp towel from around his neck to wipe his still-wet hair.
Tian Sangsang blinked her dry eyes and got into the car without hesitation, pointedly avoiding looking at Jiang Jinghuai the entire time. Jiang Jinghuai lowered his somber gaze, his expression unreadable.

They drove to the neighboring city.
Once they arrived, Jiang Jinghuai and Xu Zhengyang changed their clothes and switched vehicles. Now, they looked just like any ordinary people, taking precautions to avoid alerting their targets.
The Jinjiang Pier bustled with activity, the air thick with clamorous chatter.
Large and small boats crowded the docks, either anchored or idly drifting. Fishing nets were stacked everywhere, and the pungent smell of fish mixed with the salty dampness of the sea permeated the air.
At the distant pier exit, police officers were stationed, ready to check everyone in hopes of finding Little Tangyuan.
News came in: Old Liu and his crew hadn’t yet disembarked.
Tian Sangsang scanned the bustling crowd with razor-sharp focus, her eyes anxiously darting from one person to the next. She wanted to shout "Tang Yuan’er!" and longed to search each face one by one.
"Mrs. Jiang," Jiang Jinghuai suddenly spoke, his nasal, raspy voice cutting through her frantic thoughts. "Don’t act impulsively. It’s not the right time yet." His voice was hoarse—perhaps from swimming in the cold, or perhaps for another reason.
She snapped her head toward him and glared furiously. Her eyes turned red as she continued to glare, finally curling her lips into a cold smile.
"Of course you’re calm. He’s not your son."
Not bothering to see his reaction, she turned back and resumed scanning the crowd.
Suddenly, the surrounding noise grew louder—a boat was approaching the dock. Tian Sangsang’s eyes lit up like a spark catching fire, and in her heart, a voice screamed the same words as the day Tang Yuan’er was taken.
Tang Yuan’er might be on that boat!!
Fewer than twenty people disembarked from the ship, walking off in a single file. Because the group was small, it was easy to see who carried a child and who didn’t.
Two men and one woman seemed to be accomplices, each holding a child. Two of the children were older and couldn’t possibly be Tang Yuan’er. The last child was just an infant swaddled in a blanket, his face hidden. The blanket wasn’t the one that Little Tangyuan had been wrapped in either.
Yet despite this, Tian Sangsang’s eyes radiated fierce hope. Her heart pounded violently as if it might leap out of her throat at any moment.
Jiang Jinghuai and Xu Zhengyang narrowed their eyes. Their intel indicated Old Liu was a middle-aged man, but these three were all quite young.
At that moment, several police officers rushed in and apprehended the three people without delay.
Xu Zhengyang’s heart sank. Something wasn’t right.
"What are you doing? Why are you taking our children?" The three began screaming. "Why are you arresting us?"
The children they held were all unconscious and completely unresponsive. Only the infant seemed unharmed—probably too small for them to risk using drugs. Tian Sangsang excitedly rushed up, pulled back the infant’s blanket, and fell into despair. Muttering in a daze, she said, "It’s not him. This isn’t Tang Yuan’er..."
Although the arrested suspects were indeed human traffickers, none of them had Tang Yuan’er. Worse yet, their shouting had created a chaotic scene. Tian Sangsang was utterly at a loss, her gaze flitting helplessly among the streams of people coming and going around her.
Then, as if a string of fate connected them, she heard Tang Yuan’er’s cry—a single, piercing wail that stabbed straight into her heart.
"Tang Yuan’er, Tang Yuan’er..." She froze momentarily before frantically looking for him.
A moment later, her eyes locked onto a gray-clad man holding a baby. A corner of a pink blanket peeked out from his arms. Without hesitation, Tian Sangsang charged toward him. "Little Tangyuan!"
