Chapter 1431 - 1433: I Won’t Be Coming Tomorrow

The meal was quite enjoyable, and after eating, Yang Dong went to work in the fields for Yang Xiaocui’s family.

He came back home for lunch today for a reason—he was totally pissed off by Aunt Lan Hua.

He suddenly had an idea. During yesterday’s meal, he heard that Third Sister-in-law wanted to dig a small fish pond. His own family has a lot of work left undone; he can’t keep helping Aunt Lan Hua’s family. Their work is almost done anyway, just a few days left, and they don’t really need him.

So when he got to the fields, he said, "Aunt Lan Hua, I won’t be coming tomorrow."

"What? Why not?"

"Aunt Lan Hua, your field is almost done. My family still has a lot of work. There’s still work to do by the fish pond, so I need to go back home to work. But I’ll leave the cart here for you. Just send it back to my family when you’re done."

Yang Dong didn’t speak too harshly as he still wanted to save face for Aunt Lan Hua, given that she’s his future mother-in-law.

Aunt Lan Hua wasn’t happy at first, but upon hearing Yang Dong say he would leave the cart, she thought it over. With just a few days of work left and having the cart, they didn’t really need Yang Dong, so she agreed.

Yang Dong finally didn’t have to help Yang Xiaocui’s family with farm work anymore.
