Chapter 609 - 604: Learning She’s Sick
Chapter 609 - 604: Learning She’s Sick
Now her efforts are not just about making money, it’s that she feels in life, at an age where both the heart and body are capable, who wouldn’t want to accomplish something.
Especially her, compared to others, she has lived another life; in her previous life, there were too many regrets, so this life, she tries her best not to let herself have regrets.
There are things, perhaps, that she can’t control, but in her career, she believes that as long as she works hard, she can build a successful career.
Therefore, no matter what, she would never allow herself to end up as lackluster as in her previous life, living by looking at others’ faces even when alive.
At this point, Luo Honglan and Luo Dashan left the hospital, and Luo Honglan sighed deeply, "Ah, sister-in-law is really overworked to illness."
Luo Dashan nodded, thought for a moment, and instructed Luo Honglan, "Hong Lan, you don’t have to come home in the evenings anymore. Just stay at your sister-in-law’s place as before. I’m better now, can take care of myself, and you don’t need to worry. If anything happens, I’ll let Aunt Yuchun inform you, or I can come to find you myself; it’s not that far anyway."
"I’ll ask sister-in-law what she thinks," said Luo Honglan, her mind not really on these matters, continuously thinking about Li Yuchun’s earlier efforts to pair Liu Fengsheng with Fang Ping.
Luo Dashan nodded, "I saw him."
"Sister-in-law isn’t really with him, is she? What would my older brother do?" Luo Honglan felt agitated. Luo Zhiyong had told her to take good care of Fang Ping, to watch her, and once he settled his family affairs, he and Fang Ping would be together again.
Hearing Luo Honglan’s concern, Luo Dashan sighed and said, "Hong Lan, if your sister-in-law likes him too, let’s just let it be. Don’t keep trying to match your brother with her. That man seems nice."
Luo Honglan had previously thought Liu Fengsheng was a good man and even considered introducing some women she knew to him, but now realizing his intentions toward Fang Ping, she immediately felt he was not good, defiantly saying, "But didn’t you notice sister-in-law barely interacts with him? In her heart, she still loves my brother."
"Is that so?" Luo Dashan, an old-fashioned man, married Zhou Yunmei when they were young just because it was age-appropriate and then lived together as partners for life. He didn’t understand about liking or loving, and couldn’t tell if Fang Ping really had feelings for Liu Fengsheng.
Luo Honglan didn’t discuss these feelings with Luo Dashan anymore, thinking to herself, "No, I have to let my brother know that sister-in-law is sick, and if he can come back, he should. Otherwise, if Liu Fengsheng keeps courting her, he might actually win sister-in-law’s heart."
Luo Dashan felt this was not appropriate, but seeing Luo Honglan very determined, he said, "You decide, but don’t delay your brother’s job."
"Okay." Luo Dashan, holding Haohao, hurried, "Dad, let’s go back quickly. I’ll call Chen Jie to see if I can reach my brother."
Coincidentally, just as Luo Honglan mentioned contacting Luo Zhiyong, they returned home and upon opening the door, saw Yaoyao holding a phone, calling out ’Dad’ into the receiver.
Hearing this, Luo Honglan’s eyes lit up with joy, asking Yaoyao, "Yaoyao, whose call is it?"
Yaoyao, having already chatted with Luo Zhiyong for a while and now wanting to play as she saw Haohao return, quickly handed the phone to Luo Honglan, "Auntie, it’s Dad."
Luo Honglan took the phone, shouting excitedly, "Big brother, you finally called back."
Upon hearing that it was Yaoyao who answered the phone, Luo Zhiyong felt it somewhat strange. As he listened to Luo Honglan’s tone, it seemed as though she had been waiting for his call. He hurriedly asked, "What’s going on, is there something going on at home? It was Yaoyao who picked up just now."
Luo Honglan immediately replied, "Something is indeed wrong, your sister-in-law has collapsed from exhaustion and is now in the hospital."
Upon hearing this, Luo Zhiyong’s voice grew urgent, "Pingying is hospitalized, what did the doctor say? Is it serious?"
Luo Honglan knew that Fang Pingying’s illness wasn’t very serious, but she wanted Luo Zhiyong to come back, so she purposefully said, "Not sure, but she needs to be hospitalized."
Hearing this, Luo Zhiyong became anxious, "What should we do? Is there anyone taking care of her now?"
"Aunt Yuchun is taking care of her in the hospital."
Upon hearing this, Luo Zhiyong wished he could immediately return, but being at the training camp, he couldn’t just leave as he pleased. All he could do was anxiously instruct Luo Honglan, "Then go to the hospital right away and find out exactly what illness your sister-in-law has. I’ll make time to call back this afternoon."
Seeing that Luo Zhiyong had not yet mentioned returning, Luo Honglan purposefully added, "Big brother, I must tell you, it was Brother Liu who took your sister-in-law to the hospital last night. At the hospital, he alone was rushing about, and I can see that both your sister-in-law and Aunt Yuchun are very pleased with him."
Pausing for a moment, Luo Honglan followed up with another guess, "Especially Aunt Yuchun, she practically treats him like a son-in-law."
Upon hearing this, Luo Zhiyong’s most immediate reaction was intense jealousy, he almost wanted to rush back and stay by Fang Pingying’s side.
But after calming down a bit, he suddenly sighed, his voice much softer, and said faintly, "If that’s really the case, then in fact it’s a good thing. Liu Fengsheng is a good person, Pingying would be happy with him."
In fact, ever since the trouble Zhou Yunmei caused, Luo Zhiyong’s mindset had changed a bit.
Especially when Dashan was hospitalized, watching Fang Pingying take care of him every day with their child, sometimes being so exhausted that she would sleep with the child on the hospital’s bench, he felt extremely heartbroken.
He suddenly felt that in a family like this, with so many chaotic matters, forcing Fang Pingying to stay by his side wasn’t actually love.
To truly love someone is not to possess them, but to wish for their happiness and joy.
Clearly, he couldn’t provide that, but Liu Fengsheng could.
Thus, he felt perhaps if he let go, Fang Pingying could actually find true happiness.
However, the thought of her standing beside someone else felt as if someone was forcibly carving out his heart with a knife, the pain so intense it was as if blood was streaming...
Upon hearing this from Luo Zhiyong over the phone, Luo Honglan was stunned, "Big brother, you..."
Luo Zhiyong didn’t know how to explain his feelings to Luo Honglan and simply said, "I’ve got other things to handle, I must hang up now. Go to the hospital and find out about your sister-in-law’s condition, and I will call back tonight."
