Chapter 859: No
Chapter 859: No
"You knew all along?" Ophelia Wilson gritted her teeth and spoke fiercely, "Why didn’t you tell me if you knew?""That’s funny, why should I tell you? Who are you to me anyway?" Sophie Wilson sneered, wondering if something dirty had gotten into Ophelia’s mind.
Where did all this sense of entitlement come from?
Why should anyone make unconditional sacrifices for her?
"Sophie, we’re cousins at the very least!" Ophelia accused, glaring at Sophie Wilson.
"Cousins?" Sophie laughed as if she’d heard the biggest joke. "Ophelia, don’t pull that on me. I don’t have the problem of treating people who want to put me in harm’s way as family; I still want to live a few more years."
"Ophelia, stop beating around the bush. You’re just trying to use Mr. Seymour from my family to deal with James Reed, aren’t you?" Sophie bluntly exposed Ophelia’s intentions.
Ophelia’s face turned ugly as she looked at Sophie, considering her current situation, she had no choice but to grit her teeth and said, "Let’s join forces, you get me out of here, and I can help you."
"What can you help me with?" Sophie asked amusedly, "You’ve been around James Reed for so many years, do you have any dirt on him?"
"In front of you, he always pretends to be so admirable and graceful, would there be any dirt for you to discover?" As Sophie spoke, the little color on Ophelia’s face faded away.
"See, what did I say?" Sophie shrugged helplessly, "You’ve come to me because you want to beg me to help you leave this place, and incidentally, help you take revenge on James Reed."
"To ask for help, you need the posture of asking for help. You’ve got no bargaining chips at all yet put on a face as if negotiating with me... Ophelia, have you really grasped the reality of your situation?"
Sophie’s mocking words made Ophelia extremely embarrassed, but at this point, she truly had no other way out. Her only path was to unite with Sophie against their common enemy so she could get out, and to seek revenge on James Reed.
"Then can you help me?" Ophelia asked, full of hope.
Sophie smiled warmly, replied simply and directly with two words: "No way!"
"Sophie, are you this cold-blooded?" Ophelia accused.
"Yes." Sophie replied without any hesitation.
Ophelia choked up, coughing uncontrollably!
"Sophie, don’t you want to get back at James Reed? Don’t you want to stand up for Charles Seymour? It seems your feelings for Charles are only so much." Ophelia stopped coughing with great difficulty, and provocatively insinuated.
Sophie sighed lightly, shook her head helplessly, and said regretfully, "Ophelia, I thought you were more formidable. You’ve really let me down."
"This kind of provocation is really useless. I won’t let James Reed go, and likewise, I won’t let you go either." Sophie smiled and asked, "Don’t you understand yet why you’re here now?"
Ophelia froze, and suddenly, a bad thought emerged quickly. She stared at Sophie in shock, her mouth wide open.
The words on the tip of Ophelia’s tongue, yet she dared not say them for fear they would be true.
"Yeah, just like what you’re thinking." Ophelia didn’t speak, but Sophie could say it instead; she’s always so generous, speaking up for Ophelia was something she could do.
"The car accident involving Albert Fletcher’s parents back then, it was us who investigated and found the evidence."
