Chapter 406: Can’t Fool Through
Chapter 406: Can’t Fool Through
"Emerie, Emerie, how are you?" Old Mrs. Wilson worriedly went to support Emerie Wilson, fearing something might happen to her daughter."What are you doing? I’m hitting her!" Mason Wilson approached, raising his hand again.
Upon seeing this, Old Mrs. Wilson immediately stood in front of Emerie Wilson, glaring angrily at Mason Wilson: "Are you insane? Do you know your sister has a heart condition? Are you trying to kill her?"
"She gave my daughter away, so what if I beat her to death?" Mason Wilson cursed furiously, shoving Old Mrs. Wilson aside and landing another vicious slap on Emerie Wilson.
"Big brother, you can’t hit Emerie like that." Benjamin Walton hurriedly intervened to stop Mason Wilson, unable to watch Emerie Wilson get beaten like this.
In the midst of the commotion, Emerie Wilson finally came to her senses and screamed, "Mason Wilson, what gives you the right to hit me?"
"Just because you sent my daughter away!" Mason Wilson shouted back even louder, turning to Clarissa and yelling, "Clarissa, call the police!"
"Okay." Clarissa Taylor quickly took out her phone, and upon seeing it, Old Mrs. Wilson rushed over in panic to stop her, "Just try calling the police if you dare!"
Jerry Taylor couldn’t just stand by and watch his sister get hit, quickly stepping in front of Clarissa to block Old Mrs. Wilson.
"Mom, Aunt was definitely joking!" Ophelia Wilson quickly panicked.
Initially, she thought her engagement with James was her greatest leverage, so even if her identity was revealed, it wouldn’t matter.
But she never expected Mason to actually want to call the police.
If things got out of hand, she’d be in trouble.
"How could I not be your daughter?" Ophelia Wilson quickly rushed over, seemingly hugging Clarissa out of fear, but in reality, she was blocking her arm holding the phone to prevent her from calling the police.
Old Mr. Wilson looked at the chaotic crowd and shouted, "Everyone quiet!"
No matter what, at Old Mr. Wilson’s age, his words still held some authority, so everyone actually stopped.
"Emerie, stop talking nonsense here." Old Mr. Wilson sternly reprimanded.
"I..." Emerie Wilson tried to defend herself, but was silenced by Old Mr. Wilson’s fierce glare, and could only mutter to a close her mouth.
"You can’t make up nonsense just because you won’t apologize to Sophie. It seems we’ve spoiled you too much!" Old Mr. Wilson snorted heavily, then turned to Jerry Taylor and said, "Jerry, Emerie has always been like this. You’ve known her for so many years, you should understand."
Old Mr. Wilson tried to smooth things over.
If at the beginning, Clarissa hadn’t reminded Jerry, he really might have laughed it off.
But, thinking of his sister’s reminder, Jerry Taylor nodded slightly at Old Mr. Wilson: "Yes, I know Emerie’s nature, so I know even more that she always says what’s on her mind."
Old Mr. Wilson’s face stiffened, then Jerry Taylor said something that made his heart race: "Is Ophelia Wilson my daughter?"
"How could that be possible?" Old Mr. Wilson forced a smile, trying to laugh it off, but unfortunately, Jerry Taylor wasn’t easily fooled.
"Chaya, what’s going on here?" Jerry Taylor didn’t continue questioning Emerie Wilson but instead asked Chaya Davis. There were two parties involved in the events of that year, and compared to Emerie Wilson, it was more appropriate for him to ask Chaya Davis considering his position.
